I was driving and pulled up to get some gas and put my car in park it just stop and turned off and I haven’t been able to get it back on. Went and saw a mechanic and he said it was the timing chain on the car it only had 97,000 miles on it and it would shake while I’m in ideal

I was driving on the highway, on the way to the beach with my family and our pup! We heard a pop and thought maybe it was the tire but the engine began smoking. I pulled the vehicle over as safely as possible. I popped the hood and there was a fire. Everyone evacuated the vehicle as quickly and safely as possible. I was the last to get out of the vehicle. Within minutes the entire vehicle was engulfed in flames. We stood there and watched the only vehicle we have completely burn up. I cried and I watched my kids cry. What was supposed to be a beach day for us to distress and relax turned into us almost losing our lives on the highway. We are thankful for the state trooper, the fire department, and the paramedics who all arrived on scene and kept my family safe. Im thankful our lives weren’t lost. However we still faced a life or death situation today.

NO MONEY TO BUY NEW KEY...HAD TO RECOVER KEY AND IN ATTEMPTING TO DO SO THE IGNTION CYLINDER WAS GREATLY DAMAGED. NOW CAR STARTS BUT IMMEDIATELY SHUTS OFF WHILE SECURITY LIGHT STEADY FLASHES. ITS MY ONLY FORM OF TRANSPORTATION...IT WAS CAUSE NOW ITS JUST SITTING THERE NEEDING A WHOLE IGNITION CYLINDER AND SWITCH MAYBE .

AIR BAG LIGHT WILL BE ON, OR FLASH PERIODICALLY WHEN ALREADY FASTENED. HAD AN ELECTRICAL FIRE IN THE LEFT SIDE OF STEERING COLUMN 7/27/18. CRUISE GOES IN AND OUT. DIM/BRIGHT LIGHT COMES ON WHEN USING TURN SIGNAL. IGNITION SWITCH LOCKS UP FROM TIME TO TIME WHERE KEY CAN'T BE REMOVED AND STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP OR YOU CAN REMOVE KEY BUT SWITCH IS STILL ENGAGED. VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN MOTION WHEN MOST INCIDENTS OCCURRED AND LOCKUPS OCCUR DEPENDING ON WHAT POSITION THE STEERING WHEEL IS IN (ADJUSTABLE). THE ELECTRICAL FIRE HAPPENED JUST AS I EXITED THE HIGHWAY FROM A 30 MINUTE TRIP AFTER RELEASING THE CRUISE CONTROL BUTTON. LUCKILY I WAS ONLY 4 BLOCKS FROM HOME. CFD WAS CALLED AND THEY DISMANTLED THE COLUMN, EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. I WAS BLESSED. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE!

AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE, THE GEAR FAILED TO SHIFT EVEN THOUGH THE GEAR INDICATOR DISPLAYED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEARS AUTO CENTER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WERE ELECTRICAL FAILURES. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.

TOOK IT TO A GM DEALER, THEY GUARANTEED ALL PARTS,,, AFTER SPENDING COUNTLESS FUNDS AND TIMES, I AM STILL HAVING THE ISSUE,,, A DAY AFTER REPLACING EVERYTHING BRAND NEW AGAIN. EVERY TIME THE BATTERY DIES, IT AFFECTS SOMETHING ELSE AS WELL. MY RADIO HAS NOT COME BACK ON SINCE, I REPLACED THE RADIO,,, WITHIN A WEEK THAT RADIO WOULD NOT POWER ON AS WELL. THE KEY CAN COME OUT WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING. THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM THEY HAVE A RECALL ON FOR 2002-2004 SATURN VEUS. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE 2015 WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR. ALSO I HAVE REPORTED IN THE PAST THAT THE IGNITION TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING WHICH CAN BE FATAL IN TRAFFIC. I HAVE HAD MY IGNITION SWITCH HARD WIRED TO A SWITCH ON THE DASH.

EACH TIME THIS OCCURRED THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY/BEING PARKED, ON 6-10 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS IN THE PAST 2 YEARS, THE KEY HAS GOTTEN LOCKED TIGHT IN THE IGNITION SWITCH. THIS CAUSED THE BATTERY TO RUN DOWN AND DIE ON MORE THAN A FEW OCCASIONS. ONCE THE KEY WAS FROZEN IN PLACE, AFTER THE ENGINE WAS OFF, THE KEY WOULD NOT MOVE IN ANY DIRECTION AND THE STEERING WAS LOCKED TIGHT UNABLE TO MOVE AT ALL, THE GEAR SHIFT COLUMN WAS UNABLE TO BE PUT IN PARK. OTHER TIMES THE KEY WOULD JUST BE STUCK IN THE IGNITION SWITCH AND COULD NOT BE REMOVED, REGARDLESS OF EFFORT TO REMOVE IT, ALSO NOT ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO BE PLACE INTO THE GEAR OF PARK. THIS PROBLEM HAS CAUSE US TO ABANDON THE VEHICLE MORE THAN ONCE, THIS IS DANGEROUS & SHOULD BE ADDRESSED. I SEE OTHER RECALLS ON OTHER SATURN MODELS BUT NOT THE VUE 2007, WHICH DOES HAVE A DEFECT IN THIS AREA AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. FOR THE RECORD THE CAR KEY AND THE REMOTE ARE THE ONLY THINGS ON MY KEY CHAIN, SO THE WEIGHT OF THE KEY CHAIN IS NOT THE PROBLEM. THIS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE LAST 3 WEEKS.

AFTER JIGGLING THE KEY AND TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL SEVERAL TIMES, THE KEY WAS ABLE TO COME OUT AND HAD DIFFICULTY BEING REINSERTED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ANYTIME WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR KIA DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 71,000.

HAD TO GET A MECHANIC TO KEY THE CYLINDER AND NOW THE LIGHTS, A/C, AND RADIO DO NOT WORK AFTER ENGINE STARTS UNTIL IT RUNS FOR ABOUT 8 MINUTES. THEN EVERYTHING WORKS, BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON, THE ENGINE RUNS GOOD, UNTIL IT SITS PARKED OVERNIGHT AND HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN THE NEXT DAY. ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR. STILL DOING THE SAME. HAD IT PARKED FOR ABOT TWO MONTHS AND JUST START IT AND RUN THE ENGINE TO PRESEVE THE BATTERY. USE OTHER VEHICLE INSTEAD.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A COMMUNICATION FAILURE, BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHAT PART NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

WHILE MERGING ONTO A HIGHWAY I LOST ALL POWER. NO ENGINE, LIGHTS, ETC. ALMOST GOT RUN OVER. OPENED HOOD AND REPLACED THE 30 AMP IGNITION FUSE AND CAR STARTED. TOOK TO GM DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM AND ORIGINAL FUSE WAS NOT BLOWN EITHER. ALSO HARD TO TURN THE IGNITION KEY AT TIMES. IS THIS A RECALL? IF NOT IT SHOULD BE AS THIS WAS A SERIOUS MISHAP WHERE WE COULD HAVEBEEN KILLED! THE CAR HAS 54K MILES AND THIS WAS ON 12-21-2015 AND I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER ON 12-22-2015.

UPON A COLD START, WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS ROLLED ABOUT TEN FEET, FORWARD OR REVERSE, WITH NO INPUT ON THE ACCELERATOR, THERE IS A WHIR FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, AKIN TO A STEPPER MOTOR NOISE, AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES ON ITS OWN. IN REVERSE, APPLYING THE BRAKES STOPS THE CAR, AND THEN SELECTING DRIVE, THE VEHICLE RESPONDS TO THE ACCELERATOR CORRECTLY. THE SAME THING HAPPENS IN FORWARD, BUT IN MOST CASES THE ACCELERATOR IS ENGAGED TO MOVE FORWARD. THE PROBLEM DOES NOT SEEM TO OCCUR WHEN THE CAR IS WARMED UP AND BEING DRIVEN UNDER NORMAL USE. IN REVIEWING THE SHOP MANUALS, THERE IS AN ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL MOTOR, WHICH I ASSUME IS A STEPPER TYPE MOTOR, IN THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY. THIS IS CONTROLLED BY THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL(TAC) AND THE POWER CONTROL MODULE(PCM). I ASSUME THAT THE MOTOR IS FAILING, BUT HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED A REDUCED ENGINE POWER MODE OR ENGINE SHUTDOWN MODE EVENT. IF THIS PART IS FAILING IT SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE EMISSION WARRANTY OF 8 YEARS/80,000 MILES, BUT UNFORTUNATELY THE CAR IS 9 YEARS OLD. I WILL APPROACH MY DEALER AND SATURN ABOUT POSSIBLE COVERAGE UNDER WARRANTY, BUT HAVE HAD DIFFICULTY WITH THEM IN THE PAST. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AS IT CAN CATCH A DRIVER UNAWARE AND CREATE A POSSIBLE ACCIDENT SCENARIO.

THEY SAY IT WILL COST ABOUT $900 TO FIX....... BROUGHT MY 2007 SATURN VUE TO REPAIR A POWERFUL GASOLINE SMELL AROUND THE REAR OF CAR, NEAR GAS CAP. SAID IT WOULD COST $332 TO LIFT OUT FUEL TANK TO SEE WHERE THE PROBLEM WAS. 4 HOURS LATER, MECHANIC SAID THE TANK WAS DRENCHED WITH GASOLINE BECAUSE THE LINES TO THE FUEL PUMP WERE CRIMPED AND CRACKED SO THERE WAS GASOLINE LEAKING OUT. THE PROBLEM WAS WHEN I INSERTED THE IGNITION KEY, SOMETIMES THE MOTOR WOULD START, AND SOMETIMES IT WOULDN'T. OFTENTIMES, I HAD TO SHAKE THE STEERING WHEEL TO GET THE IGNITION TO WORK. ALSO, SOMETIMES THE IGNITION KEY WAS DIFFICULT TO GET IN AND OUT OF ITS SLOT. BECAUSE OF THESE IGNITION SWITCH PROBLEMS, I FEARED AN ACCIDENT. ACCORDING TO THE OWNER OF THE LOCK SERVICE SHOP, AT THAT TIME HIS INSTALLATION AT 09/27/10, THE REPLACEMENT MECHANISM WOULD EVENTUALLY GIVE ME THE SAME PROBLEMS, AND FAIL ONCE AGAIN. HE SAID IT WAS THE ONLY IGNITION SWITCH AVAILABLE FOR THIS VEHICLE, AND ONLY ONE MANUFACTURER SUPPLIER PRODUCED THE PART. HE SAID ALL OF THEM WERE DEFECTIVE. GM SHOULD IMMEDIATELY RECALL AND REPLACE THIS PART FOR THE SATURN VUE BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT IN THE IGNITION FAILURE. FOR THE PAST YEAR I HAVE BEEN HAVING A VERY DIFFICULT TIME INSERTING THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND TURNING THE KEY TO TURN ON THE CAR. ON AN EXTREMELY HOT DAY(IN THE 90S) MY KEY GOT STUCK IN THE IGNITION (ALL I DID WAS PUT THE KEY IN NORMALLY TO START THE CAR) AND THE INDIVIDUAL I HAD IN THE CAR REFUSED TO GET OUT OF THE CAR (WHICH POSED A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD TO THAT INDIVIDUAL BECAUSE INSIDE THE CAR AT THAT POINT I AM SURE WAS OVER 100 DEGREES). IN MARCH 2013 I TOOK A RIDE FROM KISSIMMEE TO MIAMI AND WHEN I CAME BACK HOME AND GOT OFF THE TURNPIKE I HEARD A BIG SOUND UNDER MY CAR AND IT STARED TO SLOW DOWN UNTIL IT STOPPED COMPLETELY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET, I HAD IT TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION,THEY FIXED FOR $1,926. MY 2007 SATURN VUE HYBRID BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP IN JUNE, 2010 AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW BATTERY PACK (THIS WILL BE THE 3RD ONE), THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE BATTERY PACKS, AND THAT IT WAS "SAFE" TO DRIVE UNTIL THE BATTERIES WERE REPLACED. IT IS NOW DECEMBER 30, 2010 AND NO BATTERY PACKS ARE AVAILABLE. I'M FINDING OUT THROUGH INTERNET RESEARCH THAT ONCE THE BATTERY PACK GOES, ALL POWER WILL DRAIN AND THE CAR WILL CEASE TO FUNCTION WITHIN 30 MINUTES--THAT INCLUDES BRAKES AND STEERING. I'VE COMPLAINED TO GM WHO NOW HOLDS THE WARRANTIES ON SATURN AND THEY ADVISE ME BIWEEKLY THAT THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN BATTERY PACKS WILL BE AVAILABLE. ASIDE FROM SHIRKING ITS WARRANTY OBLIGATION, GM IS CREATING POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARDS ON THESE HYBRIDS WHEN THE RECALLED BATTERY PACKS FAIL AND POWER IS LOST WHILE THE CAR IS IN OPERATION. SEVERE PROBLEM WITH HYBRID / ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IMPAIRING SAFETY, USE AND VALUE OF THE VEHICLE. BEGAN WITH ENGINE SHUTTING DOWN AND RESTARTING ITSELF - LURCHING FORWARD WHEN IT DOES - DESPITE PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE. AT A LATER DATE NOTICED A STRONG ODOR CONSISTENT WITH AN ELECTRICAL FIRE INSIDE THE VEHICLE CABIN. ON ANOTHER OCCASION THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN LOSING ALL POWER AND VEHICLE FUNCTIONALITY - INCLUDING POWER STEERING AND OTHER VEHICLE SYSTEMS. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART. ON THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN, RESTARTED ITSELF AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON YET AGAIN. THE VEHICLE THEN PROCEEDED TO SHUTDOWN AGAIN THREE MORE TIMES WHILE ENROUTE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE ATTEMPTED REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY. SINCE FEBRUARY 2010, THE HYBRID BATTERIES HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE AND THE ECM REPROGRAMMED THREE TIMES, THE STARTER GENERATOR / ALTERNATOR HAS BEEN REPLACED AND THE STARTER GENERATOR CONTROL MODULE RELAY HAS BEEN REPLACED. THE PROBLEM WITH THE HYBRID / ELECTRICAL SYSTEM STILL HAS NOT BEEN ISOLATED OR RESOLVED - DESPITE AN EIGHT YEAR, 100,000 MILE WARRANTY FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND NOW ASSUMED BY GENERAL MOTORS. AT THIS POINT THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE SATURN AND GM DEALERS FOR SERVICE ON THE HYBRID / ELECTRICAL SYSTEM A TOTAL OF 6 TIMES IN THE PAST 10 MONTHS. SHE ATTEMPTED TO ACTIVATE HER PANIC BUTTON, BUT THAT ALSO DID NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT IT FUNCTIONED CORRECTLY ONCE IT WAS JUMPSTARTED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INFORMED OF WHAT CAUSED THE FAILURES, ALTHOUGH THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE JUMPSTARTED DUE TO THE LIGHTS BEING ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE, BUT STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 38,650 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 38,600.

THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE RADIO. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN VUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER HE PLACED THE KEY INTO THE IGNITION TO START THE VEHICLE, IT WOULD NOT TURN OR GRIND. HE COULD NOT TURN THE KEY TO START THE VEHICLE. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TWO TIMES AND THEY REPLACED THE TUMBLERS TO REMEDY THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT DID NOT FEEL THAT THE DEALER CORRECTED THE ISSUE AND THE IGNITION WAS BEGINNING TO "CATCH" AGAIN. AFTER THE LAST VISIT TO THE DEALER, HE NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL DID NOT LOCK AT ALL. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE 2007 SATURN VUE WAS THE ONLY MODEL YEAR THAT DID NOT HAVE A STEERING WHEEL LOCK. I HAVE A 2007 SATURN VUE GREENLINE AND HAVE HAD THE HYBRID BATTERY REPLACED AFTER HAVING THE CAR SHUT OFF AND RESTART AND LOSING ALL HYBRID FUNCTION. I THEN FOUND OUT THAT ALL BATTERY CELLS WERE LEAKING IN MY CAR. NOW THE CAR IS IN THE SHOP DUE TO 3 INCIDENTS OF SUDDEN ACCELERATION IN ONE DAY. FIRST TIME I WAS PARKING AND THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD WHILE FOOT WAS ON BRAKE, SECOND TIME AT A STOP LIGHT AND THIRD TIME STOPPING AT TRAIN TRACKS AND THAT WAS VERY DANGEROUS. I THEN PARKED MY CAR AND HAD IT TOWED BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY CONCERNS. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND TRIED TO RETURN THE VEHICLE WITH NO REPAIRS DONE. I HAVE A 2007 SATURN VUE GREEN LINE. OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS THE VEHICLE WILL STALL ON STARTING AFTER STOPPING OR COMING TO A NEAR STOP (BRAKING AND THEN ACCELERATING). THE ENGINE STALLS FOR SEVERAL SECONDS, THE BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON AND THEN THE VEHICLE WILL RESTART. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES AND THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. CODES WERE RESET AND I WAS TOLD THAT MY GPS UNIT WHICH IS PLUGGED INTO THE INTERIOR OUTLET MAY BE A CAUSE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN VUE. AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN JULY OF 2007, THE CONTACT HAD TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO GET A NEW ONE THREE HOURS LATER. WHEN HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR 5,000 MILE SERVICING, THE DEALER DISCOVERED A RECALL, INFORMED THE CONTACT, AND MADE THE REPAIRS. WITHIN TWENTY DAYS, THE CONTACT HAD TO HAVE THREE HYBRID ELECTRICAL WIRING HARNESSES REPLACED, THE ENTIRE VEHICLE WAS RE-WIRED, AND A NEW TRANSMISSION WAS INSTALLED. ALL THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND AIR BAG LIGHTS ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER STATED THAT IF THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED, IT IS INOPERABLE. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT HAD TO HAVE THE FAILURES REPAIRED AGAIN. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS A NEW RECALL RELATED TO THE EMISSION, BUT THEY COULD NOT PERFORM THE REPAIR. THEY RECOMMENDED A SHOP (FREEMOND AUTO) AND THEY REPLACED THE FACTORY FITTING FOR THAT MAKE AND MODEL. WHILE AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACK WHILE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS STILL DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT IS STILL EXPERIENCING WIRING AND TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,800 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 16,311. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE THREE TIMES; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. MY SATURN HYBRID VUE HAS HAD SEVERAL "INCIDENTS" SINCE IT'S PURCHASE. THE FIRST WAS AT AROUND 800 MILES. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND COULD NOT BE STARTED FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. ALL ENGINE AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS WERE ON. WHEN IT FINALLY STARTED, IT JERKED SEVERELY AND LUNGED FORWARD SEVERAL TIMES. HAD ANOTHER VEHICLE OR A PEDESTRIAN BEEN IN FRONT OF ME THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT. I HAD THE CAR TOWED INTO SATURN SERVICE. THERE WERE SEVERAL PROBLEM CODES IN ECM. THEY SAID IT WAS A CHAFFED WIRE THAT NEEDED TO INSULATED. AT AROUND 1,200 MILES THE JERKING HAPPENED AGAIN. OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS THERE WOULD BE EPISODES OF WHERE THE ENGINE LIGHTS OR TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON AND IT WOULD STALL BUT THEN IT WOULD DRIVE FAIRLY NORMAL. I CHECKED WITH ONSTAR TO DO A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AND THEY SAID EVERY THING SEEMED OK. I COMPLAINED TO THE SATURN DEALER BUT THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO BE PERSISTENT BUT INTERMITTENT. I BEGAN TO FEAR DRIVING THE VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY WITH MY GRANDCHILDREN IN IT. ALL DURING THIS TIME THE MILEAGE WAS VERY LOW (ESPECIALLY FOR A HYBRID). THREE MONTH'S SINCE ITS FIRST FAILURE I TOOK THE SATURN VUE INTO SERVICE WITH ALL THE ENGINES LIGHTS ON -- THEY FOUND PROBLEMS WITH STARTER GENERATOR, AND THE CHARGING AND AUTOSTOP SYSTEMS RELATED TO THE 12 V AND 36 VOLT BATTERIES. ALL ELECTRONICS FAILED- RADIO LIGHTS, DASH LIGHTS, HEADLIGHTS, ENGINE WOULDN'T CHANGE GEARS, LIGHTS WERE FLASHING ON AND OFF, SPEEDOMETER DIDN'T WORK, THEN THEY WERE ALL FLICKERING, THEN THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT, ONSTAR DIED, RADIO DIED, POWER STEERING DIED! ME AND MY FAMILY WERE IN THE CAR AND ALMOST DIED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION BECAUSE I COULDN'T BARELY STEER THE CAR!! 2007 SATURN VUE GREEN LINE (HYBRID) REGARDING NEW (8/24/2007) CAMPAIGN #07195. SATURN OF TEMPE SERVICE ADVISOR JERED SCHAGER DESCRIBED TO ME A LOCAL INCIDENT, LIKELY RELATED TO THIS CAMPAIGN, WHERE THE VEHICLE QUIT RUNNING SUDDENLY DURING A MERGE ONTO A FREEWAY, WHICH ALMOST RESULTED IN AN 18-WHEELER CRASHING INTO THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO CRASH, BUT THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED FROM THE FREEWAY. THIS WAS NOT MY VEHICLE. THIS WAS RELATED TO ME WHILE MY VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED FOR THIS CAMPAIGN. MY SYMPTOM OF THE PROBLEM WAS A "CHECK ENGINE SOON" LIGHT. I WAS LED TO BELIEVE THAT IF I HAD NOT TAKEN CARE OF THIS PROBLEM SOON, THEN I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN STRANDED SOMEWHERE (HOPEFULLY NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DESERT IN 130 DEGREE SUNSHINE), OR WORSE YET IN AN ACCIDENT. THE FIX TO MY VEHICLE WAS TO REROUTE SOME JUMPER WIRING AND REPROGRAM THE ECM & TCM.

OUR NEW 2007 SATURN VUE GREEN LINE HYBRID SUV HAD A CHECK ENGINE AND BATTERY LIGHT AT 2334 MILEAGE. WE LUCKILY WERE IN TOWN AND PARKED THE CAR IN OUR DRIVEWAY, WHICH WAS THEN TOED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE IN TRAFFIC OR ON AN INTERSTATE WITH CATASTROPHIC CONSEQUENCES. SATURN HAD A TECH DOC#1978388 AND TSB#07-06-03-004 AS NOTED ON OUR SERVICE RECEIPT. IT IS VERY DISTURBING THAT THEY KNEW THE PROBLEM EXISTED WITH THESE VEHICLES AND DID NOT PERFORM A ENGINE HARNESS JUMPER REPLACEMENT AND REPROGRAM BEFORE THE NEW VEHICLE WAS SOLD. I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE DEALERS, COASTED IN TO THEIR SHOP. THE NEW CAR SAT THERE FOR 12 DAYS BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT. THE STARTER/ GENERATOR CONTROL MODULE HAD TO BE REPLACED. IT HAD TO COME FROM AN OUTSIDE SUPPLIER, WHO CLAIMED TO HAVE SHIPPED IT, BUT HAD NO TRACKING NUMBER, AND SUPPOSEDLY IT COULD NOT BE FOUND. IT FINALLY ARRIVED AFTER THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FOR 12 DAYS AND WAS INSTALLED.*AK

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN VUE. THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE AND WOULD NOT RESTART. THE CHECK ENGINE, TRACTION CONTROL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 935. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND THE DEALER , WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO DIRT IN THE THROTTLE ASSEMBLY. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. THE LOW POWER, TRACTION CONTROL, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THERE WAS A LOOSE WIRE IN THE IGNITION MODULE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1342. THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN , AND ALL OF THE WARNING INDICATOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALERWAS CURRENTLY DIAGNOSING THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 935, AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1400. *AK
