NHTSA RE ALL NO. 16V-340 & 17V-006 2012 TOYOTA SCION I TOOK THE VEICLE TO REPAIR AFTER THAT I DIDN'T REVIVE ANY NOTIFICATION OF RECALL , I DID FILE A COMPLAINT NEVER RECIVE ANY NOTIFICATION IT LOOKS LIKE MY CAR IT'S BEEN SOLD TO ANOTHER AGENCY WITHOUT MY NOTIFICATION AND AUTORIZACIN I'M STILL MAKING PAYMENTS WITHOUT KNOWING THE SITUATION.

TAKATA RECALL PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AUGUST 2017 AND WAS NOT AWARE OR TOLD ABOUT RECALL UNTIL RECEIVED THIS NOTICE IN THE MAIL THIS MONTH 2-2018
TAKATA RECALL-I HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL RECALL NOTICES AND HAVE BEEN TO THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER SEVERAL TIMES. SO FAR THERE HAS BEEN NO ACTION TAKEN BY THE DEALER TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE. I HAVE REQUESTED A RENTAL CAR UNTIL MY VEHICLE IS SAFELY REPAIRED, BUT THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT WHEN A RENTAL BECOMES AVAILABLE I WILL BE NOTIFIED. IT HAS BEEN AT LEAST 6 MONTHS SINCE I STARTED THIS PROCESS WITH THE DEALER AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN CALLED ABOUT OBTAINING A RENTAL VEHICLE. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT ON LINE ALREADY ABOUT THIS SITUATION, AT LEAST TWO MONTHS AGO, AND STILL NO ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN. I AM EXTREMELY WORRIED ABOUT USING MY VEHICLE, I AM THE DRIVER IN THE FAMILY AND GENERALLY HAVE PASSENGERS IN MY CAR. I CANNOT AFFORD TO RENT A VEHICLE ON MY OWN. PLEASE ADVISE ME HOW TO REMEDY THIS SITUATION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. AT THIS POINT I CANNOT EVEN SELL MY VEHICLE KNOWING THAT A RECALL IS IN ORDER. THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE HAS CONTACTED MY BE MAIL INDICATING THEY WOULD BE INTERESTED IN PURCHASING MY VEHICLE BACK FROM ME. THEY MUST HAVE REPLACEMENT AIR BAGS AVAILABLE IN ORDER TO RESELL THIS VEHICLE. WHY AM I NOT BEING CONTACTED TO REPLACE MY AIRBAG? I KNOW TOYOTA CONTINUES TO MANUFACTURE AND SELL VEHICLES. TOYOTA SHOULD BE FORCED TO STOP PRODUCTION OF NEW VEHICLES UNTIL THEY HAVE SATISFACTORILY COMPLETED THIS RECALL, OR PROVIDE ME WITH A SATISFACTORY VEHICLE REPLACEMENT. PLEASE ADVISE ME HOW I CAN FORCE THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE TO EITHER PROVIDE ME WITH A RENTAL VEHICLE OR A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE THAT IS NOT UNDER RECALL. TAKATA RECALL, I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY TOYOTA SCION XB, THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG IS DEFECTIVE AND I HAD RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT NO ONE SHOULD RIDE IN THAT SEAT UNTIL THE AIRBAG CAN BE REPLACED. THIS IS SCARY, AND NOW MY FOUR SEAT CAR, ONLY GET USED ON 3 SEATS. VERY DANGEROUS AND INCONVENIENT THAT NO ONE CAN USE THAT FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I RECEIVED A 2ND LETTER JUST LAST WEEK THAT SAID CONTACT MY TOYOTA DEALER (WHICH I DID) FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE BAG. I JUST TRIED THAT AND THE "PARTS" ARE NOT ALL IN...WHY WOULD TOYOTA DO THAT LETTER IF ALL PARTS ARE NOT IN FOR MY MODEL. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP (WESTON, FL 954-659-1800) AND WAS GIVEN THE RUNAROUND THAT NO DATE IS SET FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS I NEED TO REPAIR MY SCION AND IT IS UNKNOWN WHEN THAT WILL HAPPEN. MY COMPLIANT IS WHY IS TOYOTA SENDING LETTERS TO US OWNER THAT SAYS IT IS FINALLY READY TO FIX THE AIRBAG, WHEN I TRIED TO DO THAT WAS TURNED AWAY SAYING PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE (AND A SIDE STATEMENT THAT THEY DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHEN MY "PARTS" FOR MY SCION 2012 XB MAY NOT HAVE EVEN BEEN MADE YET. SO I AM STILL DRIVING AN UNSAFE PASSENGER SEAT CAR. WHAT CAN YOUR NHTSA CORP DO FOR ME TO HELP ME GET THIS FIXED???

TAKATA RECALL - RECALL DATE JAN-9-2019. IT IS NOW AUG 20 2017. I HAVE HAD TO HAVE MY WIFE SIT IN THE BACK SEAT FOR THE LAST 8 MONTHS. SO SHE MIGHT NOT BE INJURED DO TO THIS RECALL. THEY NEED TO GET ON THE STICK AND GET THIS AIR BAG FIXED AND QUIT DRAGGING THEIR FEET ON THIS!

TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED NOTICE OF RECALL REGARDING THE TAKATA AIR BAG IN MY 2012 SCION XB. I WENT TO THE LOCAL DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD REPLACEMENT PARTS WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2017, AT THE EARLIEST. I THEN INQUIRED ABOUT BEING PROVIDED WITH A RENTAL CAR AND I WAS TOLD THERE IS A MONTH LONG WAITING LIST FOR A RENTAL FROM THEM. I ASKED IF THEY WOULD PICK UP THE COST FOR A RENTAL CAR FROM AN OUTSIDE RENTAL COMPANY AND THEY SAID THAT I WOULD HAVE TO DEAL DIRECTLY WITH TOYOTA REGARDING MY REQUEST. THIS IS AN ENTIRELY UNACCEPTABLE SITUATION, NOT TO MENTION EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I AM DRIVING AROUND IN A CAR THAT HAS A KNOWN, POTENTIALLY FATAL FLAW, AND THE BEST SUGGESTION TOYOTA CAN PROVIDE IS " DON'T HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF YOUR CAR". I HAVE TO HAVE MY VEHICLE AVAILABLE TO TAKE PEOPLE WITH ME AT ALL TIMES. I DO NOT HAVE ANOTHER VEHICLE IN MY HOUSEHOLD TO DRIVE. I DEMAND TOYOTA CONTACT ME REGARDING PROVIDING A RENTAL VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY. IT SEEMS THIS IS THE LEAST TOYOTA CAN DO FOR VEHICLE OWNERS WHO ARE NOT AT FAULT IN ANY WAY REGARDING THIS MATTER. TOYOTA HAS KNOWN FOR YEARS THAT THEY WERE PURCHASING AND INSTALLING DEFECTIVE DEVICES IN MANY VEHICLES, NOW THEY MUST STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND MAKE IT RIGHT FOR CONSUMERS. ADDITIONALLY, THIS RECALL HAS SEVERELY EFFECTED THE RESALE VALUE OF MY VEHICLE. TAKATA RECALL NO REMEDY FOR UNSAFE AIR-BAG MORE THAN 6 MONTHS AFTER THE RECALL. I TRANSPORT DISABLED INDIVIDUALS USING THE SCION XB AND NOT BEING ABLE TO HAVE NYONE SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO ASSESS AND COMMUNICATE WITH CLIENTS.
I WAS T-BONED ON MARCH 6TH, 2013 ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. I WAS IN A SCION XB AND THE PERSON WHO HIT ME WAS IN A CHEVY SILVERADO. THE IMPACT WAS ESTIMATED AT 45 MPH AND THE DOOR WAS JAMMED SHUT. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CURTAIN AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE WHICH WOULD HAVE LESSENED THE IMPACT. AS A RESULT, THE DRIVER (MYSELF) SUSTAINED A BROKEN COLLAR BONE, BROKEN RIB, AND PUNCTURED LUNG AMONG VARIOUS BRUISING AND PASSED OUT FOR AN UNKNOWN AMOUNT OF TIME. AFTER SEVERAL CALLS TO SCION AND A VISIT TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED WE DID NOT HEAR ANYTHING FROM THE CAR MANUFACTURER UNTIL A MONTH LATER. THE INSPECTORS AT TOYOTA CALLED TO FIND OUT WHERE THE CAR WAS LOCATED AND IF THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO INSPECT IT. BECAUSE THE JAWS OF LIFE WERE USED TO PRY THE DOOR OPEN, IT SPLIT THE DOOR ENOUGH TO WHERE YOU COULD SEE WHERE THE SENSOR FOR THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. I'M SURE THE INSPECTOR WILL SEE THE SAME THING. I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING BACK CONCERNING THIS INVESTIGATION. I HAVE PICTURES SHOWING THE CAR AFTER IT WAS HIT AND NO AIRBAGS WERE DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER'S SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED BASED ON THE SCHEMATIC FOUND IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL AND WHERE THE CAR WAS STRUCK BY THE TRUCK. *TR
