Windshield cracking for no reason.
"Parasitic" draw. Battery replaced, less than year old, almost daily need to "jump" vehicle to start. Always have to have booster pack. Multiple mechanics trips. Dash screen touch option does not work, have videos of the screen randomly "fluttering" through various screens and or radio stations. Leave the radio off, will randomly come on, on its own.
My name is [XXX] [XXX] Phone Number: [XXX] My complaint is with Subaru of America, 1 Subaru Drive, Camden, NJ 08103 Phone Number: 800-782-2783 I would like the Pennsylvania State Attorney General’s Office to become involved with the two lemons/pieces of junk my wife and I have been sold. My Subaru is a 2019 Outback and my wife’s Subaru is a 2020 Forester. My ongoing problems with my 2019 Subaru Outback are as follows and in my opinion, I am driving a very unsafe car putting our lives at risk: 3 batteries prior to 80,000 miles resulting from a class action lawsuit filed against Subaru. Replacement of the ECM or Engine Control Module. Burns a quart of oil at the price of $11.00 per quart every 3,000 miles, that’s an engine problem. Right front axle broke and had to be replaced. After replacement of the right front axle, the right front axle seal, which is the axle replaced started to leak and I was charged to replace the axle seal due to a mechanics incompetence. I received a card from Subaru stating a windshield issue. Received another card regarding a fuel pump issue. A letter received this past week from an apparent CVT or continuously variable transmission issue. Now my radio stations jump around arbitrarily changing stations, tracks on my CD, and my hatch doesn’t open, but gets stuck shortly upon opening. This car is a lemon, a piece of junk and very unsafe. How many more problems are unknown to us and when will any of them occur while we are driving putting our lives in danger. If Subaru had any ethics character integrity or business morality they would have replaced this piece of junk. They are a horrible company to work with INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The windshield of my 2019 Subaru Outback Touring Edition has begun to split and crack, starting at the frame. The crack split and spread in a matter of days. My car was sitting unused in the driveway when this occurred. The damage started where the windshield meets the frame and has spread. I am not able to drive the car safely other than to get the windshield repaired. I contacted Subaru, and they told me they will not honor their extended warranty to my car because their warranty is on for 2020 and newer Outbacks. I have researched and spoken to many other owners who complain that the 2019 Outback's windshield is just as dangerous as the 2020 model and that once it starts cracking, it is only a matter of time until it will fall apart. Subaru has installed a very expensive (about $1000 to replace and calibrate) yet faulty windshield in their cars without a willingness to correct their mistake.
My Infotainment system randomly places phone calls, changes or cancels maps, and otherwise takes random actions that create distractions that makes for unsafe driving. It appears that the screen may be delaminating in multiple spots which would cause the above problems.
I was driving 75mph in heavy, morning traffic. I was behind a large tractor trailer, switching lanes. My car’s ‘obstacle ahead’ warning was attempting to slow me down or stop me. The air pressure inside my car changed suddenly and I could feel the pressure difference. Then there was a huge explosion. It sounded like my back windshield broke. Instead, it was my sunroof. It had exploded outwards from the inside. It just shattered and blew up spontaneously.
Subaru did not notify consumers or aftermarket retailers that the Subaru battery in my vehicle was underamped. As a result, I unknowingly bought an underamped battery from Autozone to replace my dying battery in 2024, b/c their records indicated it was the right battery. I found out in 3/25 from Subaru service about the underamped battery issue when my car was dying. Autozone can’t replace it because their system (info they get from Subaru) says this is the right battery, because Subaru didn’t notify anyone. Subaru will not replace the battery for free because it’s not a Subaru battery. I have an internal service memo from 2023 that states what the right battery should be. However, Subaru didn’t notify the public or companies and so several people are probably driving around with underamped aftermarket batteries. I should not have to pay for a new battery, I should have received notice in 2023 about this issue and then I would have replaced it with the right Subaru battery. The battery I replaced in 2024 was the original Subaru underamped battery.
Screen is delaminating. Becoming unresponsive at times. Making ghost touches, phone calls, opening apps, messing with GPS. Seems unsafe when it could be going haywire and especially using GPS trying to navigate traffic.
The infotainment center not working. It makes ghost options. Examples: calls people arbitrarily. Changes radio stations out of the blue. Maps goes nuts when try to use navigation. Screen has bubbles. SOA has only offered to front 1/2 the cost of the fix when even the dealership advised this is a defect/ known issue. I probably haven’t even listed all the issues but it makes the radio/navigation/ starlink service unusable at this point unless I pay out to fix with no real assurance this will not occur again
The Infotainment system has been glitching repeatedly with each drive I take; I am unable to operate any functions. This interferes with CarPlay. I reported this to the dealership and they informed me I would get a notice of recall in the mail. That was almost 2 months ago.
The head unit on the vehicle has an issue where it bubbles and it’s causing the touch screen to spaz out, change sources, etc creating a terribly distracting driving experience and you are unable to turn it of. The screen flashes, the radio changes stations, it messes with the navigation rendering it useless, etc. it’s a known issue and Subaru settled a class an action lawsuit related to it for 2018 models but has not issued recalls to for any year models. They should fix the issue on all models. It has been going on for months.
the center console screen begins developing subsurface oil spots at 100,000 miles. these cause glare, inhibiting visibility, and phantom touches, inhibiting use of the system. this loss of ability to control the primary information system in the vehicle produces safety issues in distractions to the driver and inability to access vehicle information such as the map. I recently had a low fuel warning come on while traveling, which takes over the whole screen; because the screen was causing phantom touches, i could not dismiss it and continue using the map to navigate to a gas station. i risked being lost in winter in deep rural wisconsin, as my phone didn’t have signal and my car was my only local map this is a well known issue on Subaru owner fora, and the company refuses to recall or even warrantee the problem since it happens just after the 5y/100k mile turnover. mine began a month ago, at mile 101,086.
This is a recurring issue that has started significantly impacting my infotainment system. The screen malfunctions by pressing random buttons, hanging up calls, changing the radio station, and repeatedly attempting to connect and disconnect Bluetooth. When this happens, there's nothing I can do to stop it because the screen is entirely unresponsive to my touch. It's not only frustrating but also dangerous and very distracting while driving.
infotainment unit delamination. Plus radio stations skip stations constantly and phone through infotainment unit is messed up. Unit turns on and off. Then sometimes it is fine.
Navigation Screen/STARLINK Multimedia screen malfunctions due to bubbling. Screen must remain turned off. Cannot use navigation and cannot use hands free phone. If I try to use any function the screen automatically scrolls through various function including randomly launching functions such as dialing numbers on my phone. I took the car to the dealer and they said it is "common" but not a recall and not covered by warranty because my car is now out of warranty
I own a 2019 Subaru Outback. I have had to replace the windshield four times, every time it was replaced with Subaru Glass, as recommended by Subaru. The windshield cracks at not centered, they appear from either the top or bottom of the windshield with not impact site. I have asked for them to review the framing and have been continually told it is fine. The windshields have all cracked within a two year period. The last one which occurred a couple days ago appeared after the car going through a pot hole on the street.
Infotainment head unit is delaminating. This issue causes "ghost touches" where the system randomly selects options or changes settings without user input. The delamination appears as bubbles or dots behind the screen that cannot be wiped off. This is a safety issue as these "ghost touches" make selections, changes, and phone calls on the infotainment system while driving.
The surface of the interior touch screen display on my 2019 Subaru Outback Touring that controls the radio, navigation, phone, vehicle settings and information, and rear backup camera assistance developed bubbles and presses buttons on its own. It toggles between apps, calls people, changes radio stations, adjusts volume, discontinues map routes, removes backup camera footage, and beeps at random and while driving. As a driver or passenger I am unable to control these functions because the touch screen is not functional. The safety of myself and others has absolutely been put at risk: a once reliable backup camera is no longer consistently functional; the route I set in the driveway disappears, reappears, and changes destination locations while I'm driving; at times the screen toggles and beeps quickly, will not stay turned off, and creates an unavoidable visual and audible distraction. Phil Long Subaru inspected my vehicle, confirmed that this is a known issue with United Radio part #AL58A, and quoted the repair at over $1600. Subaru of America has not issued a recall despite two class action lawsuits for this issue and an existing recall for the same issue on earlier models. SOA offered a one time credit of $1200, which leaves me on the hook for $500 for their defective manufacturing, and no guarantee that the replacement part has been modified to address the issue or extended warranty on the part in case this happens again. There were no warnings, messages, or symptoms of the problem prior to failure. The bubbles appeared around October 2024 and the ability to consistently control the display was lost immediately.
The infotainment system or head unit has gone haywire! The car calls random people from my phone book and hangs up, plays the radio changing channels every 5 seconds switching to the map and then to settings and changing dash from Mph to Kph and so on and so forth. This is dangerously distracting and there is no way to turn it off. I have to disable my phone to drive the car. None of my buttons on the screen work. Unfortunately no warranty and the cost is almost $2,000 to replace the unit…but will it just happen again in 4 years? Completely unsafe for my teenage son to drive and I thought I was buying the safest car on the road at the time. This is unsafe and unnecessary….we would be happy if we had a way to just turn it all off!
This vehicle, and many others as I've read in forums, experiences uncontrollable radio station and apps changes automatically and will not stop. Why it's not safe: The radio screen flashes between several screens on it's own. It changes stations, it changes to different apps, then the screen locks and you cannot reset it. It also beeps with every change, over 100 beeps per minute, like a morse code message. Imagine that on a 9-hour road trip. It is a major annoyance and distraction as the driver is constantly focused on trying to get this radio/equipment to work properly. It forces your attention off the road. And it will not stop! It changes radio stations, if powered off, it turns itself on. And Subaru refuses to acknowledge the issue, or offer a replacement. They pretend they never heard of the issue, yet its easily found in forums. For $1000 I can get a different OEM radio, from the same manufacturer, and who knows how long it will be before it happens again? We (subaru owners) need help with this and a recall. I can't tell you how many times I've drifted out of my lane trying to make the beep beep beep stop after hour after hour! Navigation and apps are useless, as the radio will change them to different input sources without notice, and all day long. Yes, this is a safety issue. You cannot just turn it off. It turns itself back on. Even if you turn down the sound from the radio, the beep beep beep of the apps changing cannot be silenced. It only occurs when the vehicle is on. All the time. Everytime. Every day. Every trip. Please help.
Head unit delaminating after Data Control Module repair in 2023. Head unit is entirely inoperable and poses a safety risk to driver by turning radio on and off, switching stations, raising and lowering volume level, and affecting the eyesight periodically. Head unit can be turned off after multiple attempts, however powers back up on its own continuing the previously mentioned issues.
This morning, while stopped at a red light, my foot on the brake, my car suddenly revved and jolted forward. Luckily, no one was in front of me, and I quickly put the car in neutral and pressed harder on the brake pedal. The car was then ok. I see that there is a Class Action Suit filed by the law firm of Berger Montague, since many other owners of Subaru have had this complaint. You need to have Subaru recall these vehicles ASAP.

The computer I think it's a starlink system has gone haywire and does not work at all to a point to where you cannot use it. Touch screen will not respond or goes from one thing to the other on its own. Totally unusual.
The infotainment system on my 2019 Subaru Outback has failed. The problem arose suddenly. The system is randomly cycling through radio stations, the touch screen has stopped responding to being touched, the gps apps stopped working properly and across the board the unit no longer works. The touchscreen also appears to have bubbling under the surface of the screen, which may be contributing to the problem. This failure has deprived me of access to important apps -- gps, vehicle maintenance records, bluetooth phone calls. The constant beeping and cycling is an unwanted distraction. For now, the rear back up camera still seems to be working, but if I'm forced to turn off the touch screen, it obviously won't be of any help. I am bringing the car to the dealership tomorrow.
The StarLink touchscreen (which controls radio, etc. and includes vehicle systems monitoring) delaminates and then the system goes crazy If iPhone is plugged in, system starts randomly calling people, all the icons flash on and off as if being pushed, it pulls up random maps, and brings up vehicle maintenance information. All the weird flashing is very distracting and dangerous. I know Subaru was sued on this issue for 2015-2018 models but the 2019s still have the same problem and Subaru won't recall or fix.
The head unit developed what appear to be bubbles under the screen. Now, it's barely usable. It randomly responds to touch. It turns itself on and off randomly. None of this sounds like a safety issue until you're driving down the freeway at speed and the radio randomly comes on blaring loud music. It's incredibly jarring and could easily cause an accident. We reached out to the dealer who inspected it and was very aware of the problem as it seems to affect a very large number of people. Following that, they reached out to Subaru of America who admitted there was a problem and offered to pay for slightly more than half of the repair.
Another for the list of many, many windshield cracking complaints. My 2019 Outback 2.5i Limited has had 3 replacements since I purchased it new in late 2018. The cost to replace each has certainly increased each time and is very expensive as it has to include the eyesight calibration. I'm told this is not covered in my extended warranty I purchased when the vehicle was new. Subaru needs to take ownership of the quality issue and compensate the countless owners who have had this same issue, multiple times! I've read the glass is too thin, may be intentional because of the eyesight feature. Mileage and date below are from the most recent crack I had to repair. Please let me know if you'd like more details on the first two occurances as well.
I have replaced my windshield three times now and am just now reading about lawsuits against Subaru for faulty windshields on certain lines (2019 being one of them). My windshield still makes sounds as if it will crack and I think there’s something majorly defective with the vehicle. How was this never a recall? What can I do to inquire about this safety issue? It sounds like a common occurrence. Thank you.
I now have a second windshield that suddenly cracked. I was told that Subaru OEM windshield was installed and their is a Subaru icon on the glass. The first time was when a defrost was turned on. I heard a pop and crack quickly appeared. Crack started on the outside edge about half way up on the passenger side. Within seconds the crack was half way across to the other side. The most recent it was after a hot day on the previous day the next morning open the garage and immediately saw multiple cracks starting from the drivers side this time, about half way up then running almost half across the other side. Both times I had only had the windshield a few months. I took it back to the windshield installer and they are going to replace it because it isn't due to damage to the windshield like a chip. They told me that they are putting Subaru OEM windshields on right now because they have had to replace 20 recently for the same issue. They just suddenly crack no damage. They said there is a lawsuit. I asked the dealership and they told me that haven't heard any issues with windshields. I just wanted to let you know. It is pretty scary and expensive to have the windshield suddenly crack and it is pretty deep. I'm going to take a picture since my Subaru dealership wouldn't record the issue for me.
The infotainment center is prematurely delaminating/failing. On various Subaru forums, it appears this is a common issue on the year/model I own. While this may not seem safety related on the surface, the failing screen is incredibly distracting while driving depending on where the delamination occurs. It mimics pressing the screen, so it will cycles through the screens wildly, incessantly beep, tries to redial the last call made over and over again, etc. which, as you can imagine, is incredibly distracting while you are driving. Even if you turn the screen off, it randomly can pop back on. If you disable bluetooth, it still wildly flicks between screens and beeps. What is also concerning is the replacement units are backordered- so even though this appears to be a very common issue (and i believe a safety issue subaru should cover), even if i wanted to pay to fix it ASAP, I can't! It's making for an incredibly distracting, unsafe driving experience.
The windshield is prone to cracking and spreading. The glass or design of the Outback windshield is defective. I had a repair on a rock chip which worked fine until the following week where it spread up and across the windshield. The car was parked and no other factors caused it to crack and spread.
My Subaru 2019 Outback has had 5 replacement windshields in 10 months. The windshield seems to crack for no reason and the cracks spread quickly impairing vision and causing worry that any impact of an object would come straight through the windshield and cause harm to driver, passengers and potentially other vehicles. I have talked with Subaru of America, just this last time on the 5th replacement and they had an engineer look at the windshield to determine cause. The report states: “Subaru field engineer determined caused by chip.” As the driver of the vehicle, NOTHING has hit the windshield while driving, nothing of note that is, normal things like rain, sunshine, and wind, which is what a windshield is meant to protect against. The other techs at the dealer could not make out a point of impact. I picked up my vehicle from the dealer at 6pm, drove it a few miles on the freeway, maintaining safe follow distances with my new windshield, and when I got back in the car 2 hours later there were 4 cracks stemmed from the bottom of the windshield that stretched up more than 6 inches. The windshield is currently cracked and I’m waiting for Subaru of America to get back to me on this issue. There is a problem with the windshields and someone needs to take responsibility for it. One or two cracked windshields can be explained, but now with the most recent one, that’s 6 cracks in 10 months. It seems there is a defect.
The radio and head unit is glitching and automatically doing crazy things. The lighting is also affected on the head unit. The radio volume will turn up loud for no reason. It is intermittent. The dealership says it’s bubbling and head would have to be replaced..but back ordered parts and 3,000 dollars. I’ve googled and this is a well known issue with 2019 Subarus, but it’s a safety issue if you are driving and volume/screen is not controlled.
The contact's wife owned a 2019 Subaru Outback. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked for approximately 4 to 5 hours in the car port unattended, the contact noticed that the vehicle had caught fire near the rear driver's side and burned up a portion of the garage and house, The fence, a Datsun truck, two golf carts, and trees were burned. The contact was previously at the local dealer for routine service. The fire department was able to aid in extinguishing the fire. There were no reported injuries, crash or air bag deployment. The vehicle was towed to the junk yard. A police report was filed. The local dealer was not contacted after the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 22,000. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company.
Mileage: 22,000
My complaint is the Outback head unit. This unit has a delaminated surface on the inside of the Outback touch screen. This was explained to me by the service manager, at the local Subaru dealer. The screen looks to have little bubbles inside the touch screen covering 45% of screen. During the daytime the sunlight shining on the screen and the bubbles, blocks the feed from the backup camera when the car is shifted in reverse. The head unit will also bounce the various apps in the unit, in a totally random pattern. From the radio (FM to Am to Sirius), then to the CD player, to car play and the blue tooth app. The head unit has added the navigation into the mix in the last week. The only way to negate this mess is to turn the head unit off while operating the vehicle. After talking with Subaru customer service and the Subaru dealer, my cost to replacement would be $345.90 and Subaru would cover the rest. This was discussed on March 5th. I have tried to get any updates for replacing the head unit and no one from the dealer or Subaru customer service have returned calls or text messages.
windshield cracked and replaced
The battery has a substantial drain on it when the car is not in use. The car is not reliable to get from one place to another, especially if it sits for 24+ hours. The danger comes in that we may be left stranded in a remote area where no cell service is available. We often go to remote areas to camp. The vehicle and battery have been inspected by the dealership and they recommended a larger battery due to a settlement in a class action lawsuit. However, this does not fix the battery drain. Another class action suit is in the process to address this situation. No symptoms or warnings for when the battery dies. Everything operates just fine until it does not. Absolutely unpredictable.
Having dead battery issues due to DCM drain when vehicle parked in garage. I replaced 2 batteries since November 2023 and last dead battery issue March 2024. Took it to dealer Brilliance Subaru and they said they found no problem. Went to another mechanic and they said draining 150 or more milliamps from DCM fuse #9 when they take out milliamps returned to normal draw i think 20 or less but then i lose front speakers and bluetooth or more stuff. So thats not the fix.
While traveling early morning on [XXX] heading for Fall Vacation, we heard a loud pop in the car. Unsure as to what happened, my daughter who was in the back seat, noticed a crack in the windshield. The crack started in the lower corner on the passenger side. As we traveled the crack kept getting longer. This seemed strange because it was very early morning and no other cars were around us at the time we heard the loud pop. Where we vacation is actually with some friends at their place on beach. Our friend had seen my car right after I had purchased it and she purchased her a Subaru Outback as well. When we finally arrived, we mentioned about our windshield and the same thing had happened to her car in the very same spot. I had this replaced when we returned home in Tennessee. Which cost me a $500.00 deductible. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I put my 2019 Subaru Outback in park, stepped out of my car and the car proceeded to unexpeectedly roll forward with the door knocking me to the ground. The back wheels of the car then ran over both my legs. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance company or anyone else. I sent a letter January 1, 2024 to Subaru's Customer Advocacy Department, but have not received a response. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the car unexpectedly going out of gear after being placed in park. prior to this occuring.
Broken axle, ECM or engine control module, Replaced with third battery with only 77,000 miles. This car is a lemon and a total, piece of junk My wife’s 2020 Subaru Forrester has a console which is a complete hazard on the road. If you put anything on the console it doesn’t stay and slides off Talk about a complete distraction and safety danger just because of lazy manufacturing and stupid engineers who can’t think their way out of a wet paperbag
Delamination on radio screen causing head unit to go crazy on its own. Identical issues reported in 2017/2018 models resulting in class suit vs Subaru… at this time Subaru dealership advised Subaru is not addressing the known defective head unit issue and quoting $2000 for replacement which is ridiculous for a 4-5 year old car. Assistance needed to have Subaru issue a recall and take ownership for its defective product.
The head unit is malfunctioning due to bubbles behind the screen, causing various systems to act up. When a phone is plugged in for guidance it will randomly change the settings and guidance goes away. It will automatically call people. Radio stations and music turn on and off, and change by themselves. All of these are distractions while driving, and negate the safety features of the in dash guidance and hands free phone features. This is a continuous problem.
I have had 3 dead battery issues with this car. Something is draining the battery while the car is off.
My subaru outback has been having an issue with a dead battery, every month for the past 4 months. My dealership has done 2 complete diagnostics, overloading the system, etc. They have come up with nothing on why my battery dies. When I have taken my car in to be checked, it's always with a new battery that is still good. I have had 3 new batteries in the past 4 months, plus multiple charges. Something drains the battery within a month's time. This past visit to the dealership, I have refused to pick up my vehicle because I know it's going to die in a month. I can't live like this, not knowing when it will die. I am most particular about making sure doors and tailgate are completely closed. Is there anything more the dealership should be checking into? Any advice would be appreciated.
My 2019 Subaru outback has a defective screen. The screen has begun to delaminate from the inside and causes the screen to jump around and not be able to stay on one screen. The power button also seems to not be working and is cause the radio to turn on and off. Because of those two issues, the radio screen jumps around and turns off and on, posing a major safety risk. I tried taking the car to the place I bought it and a Subaru dealer, and they will not help financially or with the repair even though they have this issue with other year models of the same car. Picture is attached. Has sense gotten worse.
Windshield has been cracked and replaced 3 times and currently has another crack, all within 17 months. Also head unit has internal malfunction and must be replaced at cost of $1700 +/-
The head unit (radio) on my 2019 Subaru Outback began developing "bubbles" behind the touch screen which is causing phantom touches. Without any human interference, the radio will suddenly start switching channels and functions on the radio in a very rapid sequence. When this occurs while driving, it is EXTREMELY distracting for the driver. The only solution is to turn the entire head unit off and go without radio, navigation, nor bluetooth capabilities. Subaru prides itself on safety, and yet Subaru of America seems to not take this issue seriously. I have filed a case with Subaru of America, but they seem satisfied to make customers foot the bills for diagnostic testing, meanwhile the head unit in question is on a backorder and simply not available. Harman Kardon is the maker of the head unit and should be made to pay for the development of a new head unit without serious defects. But if Subaru is truly the company they say there are, then they need to take responsibility as well and provide the replacement of the defective units regardless of warranty status. At first this may appear as a "cosmetic issue," but I can honestly say that my initial experience was so distracting and confusing, and occurred in an area where I was not able to pull over. I consider myself very lucky that I was involved in any kind of accident.
Ignition and battery failure - unable to unlock certain parts of the car, all electrical is dead This is the second incidence in 6 months. Not weather dependent. One incidence in June and another in January. Entered car, pressed ignition button, no ignition, the icons all lit up in red on the indicator dash. Previously AAA indicated that the battery was totally dead, no amps, appeared to be an electrical problem and not strictly a battery problem according to AAA. At dealership they performed a "drain test." They told me that is all they could do. Customer Service gave me a battery for "free." I don't know if it was a used battery or a new one. This time I will pay for the battery to make sure it is new. No words of why this occurred to my car were stated. They just pushed the repair invoice towards me with the keys and said I was ready to go. This time when I called they told me they could only do the "drain" test again. I knew I had to investigate since they were not helping me find the source of the problem. This could be a major problem if one was locked in the car and the electrical failed. Worse yet if a fire occurred and one could not get out, death could occur. When I left the car after the ignition did not work, the ignition light on the ignition button stayed on. (lit up in red) Please help me out with this. The auto is a Touring Outback - year 2019.
I purchased this 2019 Subaru Outback new. In less than three months, the windshield cracked at the edge on the driver's side. I had the window replaced and two years later it cracked again in exactly the same place. I have not had the vehicle inspected since then and there were no warning lights or other symptoms prior to the crack appearing.
The DCM Fuse was draining my battery. Which lead to me having a dead car battery. I had the battery replaced and paid out of pocket. The less than a week later it drained that new battery, which I had to pay for again. This lead to having my car dead on the side of the road because this DCM Fuse was draining power from my battery when the car was off. This is a major issue and should be a recalled part ASAP.
My 2019 Infotainment systems has begun delamination from the outer glass on the back side. It is causing ghost operations of the systems. Access to my safety features are through the system.
I purchased this vehicle brand new in 2020 and had never experienced any issues with the battery this year alone(2023) I have had to replace the battery 4 times. I would used the jump method leaving the to car running for at least 15 minutes before driving and then within the next month or two the battery is drained and dead again. When I took my vehicle to the dealership the mechanic already knew what the DCM would be the issue. I then called the manufacturer after doing more research and noticed that this is a very common issue and it has not been recalled yet. After performing the DCM test it was confirmed that was the issue and I am still being ask to pay the 1200.00 bill.
Windshield started to crack despite no incident and crack has rapidly expanded
I have submitted for Extended Warranty Battery Service in the Subaru Battery Settlement confirmation number is SB68712430. This battery settlement should include the DCM as replacing the battery does not fix the problem. I believe this is an electrical fault (parasitic current draw) is caused by the the faulty DCM. There are hundreds of people posted the same issue. This should be a recall.
Starlink system is malfunctioning. The radio spontaneously begins scanning through stations and will not stop even when "scan" icon is pressed or preset station pressed. Also, the bluetooth connectivity to my phone is randomly lost. This has caused distractions while driving and loss of "hands free" features for my phone and is a safety hazard.
Cracked windshield (2nd incident in less than 18 months). Windshield cracked without any impact with rocks or other objects. This is an OEM windshield that was installed and calibrated at Sheehy Subaru Springfield, VA. This windshield easily cracks or is damage (impacts blemishes) by minor/small objects, which is unreasonable. This latest incident that I am reporting is a hair line crack, about 14” in length that runs from the edge of the windshield to the middle; there was no impact; this appears to be a temperature change like crack. It adversely affects visibility. This is a very expensive repair $1,500 for OEM and calibration.
2019 Subaru Outback, 3.6R limited, approx. 3.5 years old with around 36000 miles, when I noticed small bubbles forming near the upper right hand corner of the infotainment touch screen. Shortly thereafter, the number of bubbles increased, the radio would change stations on its own, sometimes turn on by itself, and the navigation would not work. Took it to the dealer and was told I would need a new info system at my expense and they were on back order.
Defective Infotainment System. There is a known issue with the touchscreen Starlink system that can experience the dynamic or phantom input, i.e. a “ghost touch” that causes the system to change sources, shut off, reboot, or work intermittently or not at all. Even when the input does not change, the system emits the audible beep sound as if changes are being selecting via the touch screen. The distraction resulted in me taking my eyes off the road. The touch screen has ghost blobs or prints on the underside of the touch screen. Reported the issue to Subaru of America, who was already aware of the issue; they have received complaints for 2019-2023 models. The same issue was resolved via a class action suit for previous models.
Battery keeps draining. Was reading about a known issue with DCM
Failing and malfunctioning head unit. This is a known problem with Subaru Outbacks. The inside is delaminating causing bubbles inside screen. The touch screen thinks you are touching it so it will skip stations, press all kinds of buttons on the menu screen, and even call contacts on your phone. I had to shut the radio off completely to a black screen as it’s dangerous while driving. I’ve been waiting almost a year for a replacement with no ETA from Subaru, told on “indefinite back order”. I paid the car off intending to keep it many years and purchased an extended warranty that is useless.
The 2019 Subaru Outbacks have a Data Communication Module (DCM) which allows hands-free access to audio features of the car. The DCM (Generation 1) was designed to work on 3G networks and also provides access to Starlink which could be used in an emergency. With the deactivation of the 3G network, the DCM drains the car's main battery. Thus the car will not start if left unattended for any length of time. If the DCM is disabled by pulling the fuse, the hands-free features of the car are also disabled as well as Starlink. There is a class action lawsuit regarding this problem, however, it only covers the batteries that are damaged due to being drained and does NOT address the root cause of the problem.
My battery died and I replaced it. Suddenly my radio/screen system started to malfunction. It no longer works at all other than interrupting phone calls by switching from car to phone speaker. I have no access to any safety features. Now my brand new battery of one month isn’t working. When I had an oil change at the dealership last month, they were familiar with the issue but stated there was a recall on the exact issue for a different year. They said I’d have to pay $1000 for a new radio interface. My question is why is the radio/screen and the battery failing at the same time? Why is there a recall one year off and my car is costing me a fortune and so much time.
On July 28th, my touch screen (head unit) in my Subaru Outback suddenly delaminated overnight. From that point foward, all systems connected to the head unit have been either unusable or intermittent--often dangerously so. My backup camera and blind spot indicators are randomly unusable; the GPS system turns itself on and off in use (and half the time, screen itself cycles through "ghost touches" and is unable to be directed in any way); my car calls random people through the Bluetooth system while driving, which is a major distraction, and Starlink is unusable. Internet searching has revealed a proposed class action lawsuit against Subaru for the known issues with their head units; the 2018 models were recalled, but as mine is a 2019, I have been told I'm ineligible for support with repairs and would need to pay 3k out of pocket. I can't sell the car with the level of defects it currently has, and driving the vehicle is at best irritating and at worst, dangerous (depending on how the head unit behaves that day). I purchased this car because I wanted to have a backup camera, blind spot indicators, access to GPS support, and more.
I am the owner of the 2019 Subaru Outback. Since I purchased the car back in 2019, I replaced the windshield 3 times already in 4 years of car ownership (10/2019, 11/2021, 8/2022) and only ~30k miles driven. Every time even a minor struck into the windshield caused a major crack (over 1 foot length) within minutes of continued driving. This significantly impairs the clear vision through the windshield. Additionally, rapid advancement in the size of the crack means that it has to be fully replaced every time with the cost of additional calibration of safety systems which makes the cost of the replacement extremely high. Every windshield has been replaced in the Subaru dealership with Subaru-made components. This rate of replacement is highly unusual and I never experienced before such frequent windshield failure.
Driving normally with no other vehicles nearby, Crack developed in windshield almost half way up, from the left side, and within seconds crossed most of drivers side in a near direct line. This is the third windshield to Crack in a 12 month period. Both times replaced at my local Subaru Dealership where the vehicle was originally purchased. I have received a warning ticket from police for the prior crack, just before replacement due to safety issue. This newest crack is in drivers field of vision.
Power Rear lift gate does not work on a consistent basis. It will work normally for several days, then without warning, not work. Will not work with remote or interior opening mechanism. Only the manual release in the rear will unlatch the rear gate, which is quite heavy to lift and not designed to be done so in a manual fashion. Unable to duplicate issue at Subaru dealer. Obviously, this is a know issue after reviewing similar complaints here.
"Infotainment" touch screen in front dashboard delaminating. What can be described as bubbles or splotches, sponaneously appear, and cause system to constantly register touches. Depending on location of "bubble(s)" highly dangerous and scary as system can randomly navigate, call, play music, etc. as if possessed by a ghost. Back up camera affected too. Anything which is attached to display can seemingly randomly switch, turn off, turn on, etc. Seems to be worse in hot weather. Can not turn off 'infotainment" panel/screen because system turns itself back on (as if registering the touch by a user).
The infotainment center is consistently cycling through radio stations and apps. Driving down the road you see this consistent blinking as it cycles through. Cannot not turn the unit off. Tentative date is November 2023 for the unit to be replaced. 10 months from start of problem that has gotten progressively worse.
Windshield just cracked from mirror straight down middle to hood. No accident… happened while parked in personal garage. Looks like a history of faulty windshields. Is Subaru paying yet?
I have owned this Subaru since September of 2019 and within the first year of buying it, while on a roadtrip with 3 other passengers who saw it happen, the windshield just split in the lower left side. there were no cars around to kick up rocks or debris so it seemed very odd. over time it spread and we inevitably had to replace it because the crack had gone across the entirety of the windshield. only a few months after replacing the windshield it split once again in the same spot in the lower left with no explanation as to why. the place where it split initially has no rock chips to explain the crack. after this I looked it up online and found out that many others have had similar experiences, so I decided to not even replace my windshield but to instead live with the crack that has once again spread clear across the car because I do not have the money to keep replacing $1000 glass every 3 months or so. The Subaru is an otherwise good car, but this problem is a bit ridiculous.
Was parked outside and came home and put car in garage and found a huge crack in windshield, I did not have an accident or was windshield hit with anything this happened spontaneously!
Under 50,000 miles all 4 wheel bearings needed to be replaced. Under 50,000 miles all 4 struts needed to be replaced. The door key would not work , the dealer had to fix the mechanism. The passenger window stops working suddenly, the dealer has to reset it all the time. The car braked in the middle of highway two time, I was lucky that no one hit me in the back. Under 65,000 miles control arm broke and did $8,400 damage. Car would not let me in on one of the parking, dealer could no help. Subaru from India was able to unlock the car and make it active again. Car lane keep assistant is like drunk driver. The dealer told me, that I need to buy a newer car. I have been to dealer every month.
In the last 8 months, I have replaced the windshield twice. I assumed it was due to rock strikes but neither time was a strike mark present. The second time I heard a loud pop and an approximately 8-inch crack appeared. I believe the material is either defective or too thin, especially after reading about numerous similar incidents. Subaru's response is to try to sell a windshield warranty. What will happen if someone's windshield shatters completely while driving? The date below is the latest, but this also occurred last year around July/August.
The battery is depleted with no known reason. Even after a new battery is installed it stalls. And an internet search shows that Subaru knows this is their issue. When I contact Subaru they told me that I should drive it every day. That is a ridiculous statement. This battery issue creates a potential for a bad incident.
Windshield cracked due to wiper deicer defect.
Touchscreen control head has delaminated making the unit disfunctional. When reporting an injury accident to 911 the defect on the controlhead unit disconnected my 911 call for help without an input from me. The manufacturing defect of the screen has rendered the back-up camera useless. This is the same issue that occured with the 2018 models. Both the dealership and Subaru of America (SOA) are aware of the associated safety issues and have refused to correct the defective equipment. Both the dealership and SOA agree that this is unsafe and needed to be replaced. The milage at time of occurance was 76,000.
Vehicle would not start after turning off the motor! This has happened 3 times until it would not start at all, which left myself and young girls stranded for 2 hrs until AAA arrived! The battery is good but something is draining the battery!!! Will take to Subaru dealership to diagnose the problem!
Trunk popped open and will not close. Power rear gate latch control needed to be replaced. Couldn’t fully open or close trunk while driving or even after stopped
My radio and navigation screen started getting bubbles under the screen. Now the screen goes crazy constantly changing radio stations and changing information on maps. The screen is suppose to be a touch screen and nothing works. It randomly calls people if you're connected to Bluetooth, changes to different apps, goes to different destinations on maps and changes setting features.
In November 2022, I reported my radio unit was faulty due to a peeling covering for the radio. The resulting problems includes: flashing screen, continual beeping, self-navigating menu changes, making phone calls, sending messages, etc. I was told in early Nov it would 10 days before a radio would be available. In early December I called the dealership to inquire of the progress, now overdue. I was told it would be 10 days again and the representative told me he was going to re-roder it. In early January 2023 the radio began to flash, beep, and self-navigate menus including factory resetting itself while in operation. The covering at this point was peeling more. Explaining that it was no inoperable and was being covered with paper to avoid distraction while driving though the beeping was still happening. I called the dealership to inquire and was told no radio replacement was available and to call Subaru direct with my issues. I called Subaru directly and was told a radio replacement would be available in 10 days and to call back if I didn't hear from them. I called back with no response. I called several more times with no response. In early February 2023, I called an opened another case but was re-routed to the original case and was told radios were being replaced for orders in late October/early November and mine would likely be available soon and to call back in a few days if I did not hear back. I called several times without a response. The radio is flashing, beeping, self-navigating menus, turning on, turning off, turning on the radio, changing stations and volume while in motion making driving unsafe.
The windshield cracks and chips excessively easy. I'm 47 years old and have never needed to replace a windshield til this vehicle and I've now had 4 cracks in the 2 years I've owned it as well as numerous chips. I know road hazard happens - but this has been excessive!
Was driving with little to no traffic on route 65 PGH Pa there was a very loud pop/crack I did not see anything. After a few minutes a crack started from the very bottom of the windshield and goes up about 4 inch then spreads into 2 cracks that are approx 16 inches each there is no visible point of impact the window we’ll be seen by windshield repair co on Friday Jan 27 2023 the crack and bang startled me and could have caused me to wreck and the integrity of the windshield is no longer what it should be and if cont to drive could blow in
I have a 2019 Subaru Outback. The Navigation unit is having Ghost touches making it impossible to focus while driving the car. The Unit Ghost touches every button on the screen while driving and when a mobile device is connected it automatically makes calls to the contacts with the Ghost touches. Many users have reported these issues.
Battery is persistently dead , have brought to Subaru dealership replaced battery 1 month after we got it Nov 2021 , and then checked again and told “not driving enough to charge battery “ we have to jump battery at least twice a week
While sitting vehicle was sitting in my locked garage got into vehicle and noticed a large crack in center of windshield had appeared without incident called my Subaru dealership that I purchased vehicle from they made an appointment and I took vehicle to the service manager and he took a quick look and pointed to windshield and said it was a stone chip. I could not see the chip he was talking about and he stated he would have to call Subaru manufacturer himself to see what they thought. This is the 2nd time I have had to take brand new car in for repair for a situation not caused by I’ll care
The touch screen has bubbles on it and a mind of its own. I can not use my phone, maps let alone the radio. The vehicle has only 11k miles on it. I am being told I am out of warranty and it will cost 2k to replace the head unit. Searching forums this is a common issue. The 2018 models ended with a class action. At this point they are not taking responsibility for the 2019.
Battery has failed twice, original battery was replaced, then the 1st replaced battery has died. A new battery and the software update needed asap.
battery was working and vehicle driven to a location. When returning to vehicle and trying to start battery was found 100% discharged and tested to 0% charge left leaving driver stranded. I had to get battery tested to see what the issue was, contacted dealer who had me bring the vehicle in and they tested battery, charged and stated OK. I questioned the situation as, how can it be OK, if the issue was not found. Then a software update was performed and I was told battery would not be an issue now. Vehicle taken to Bowser Subaru on 8-25-22 at 1:00pm. No paperwork or work orders were provided to me. Service was at no charge
2019 Subaru Outback. On 8/9/22 I was Driving on interstate and a tiny crack appeared in mid to lower left corner of windshield. Called dealer immediately because it is my second windshield—the first one was covered in 2020 under warranty after It spontaneously cracked. On 8/9/22 I called my insurance while driving (hands free) and they made same day appointment but Safe Lite could not repair the windshield because by the time I got there the crack had expanded, making it a full replacement. There is no recall but already a lawsuit involving 2017-2019 models of Subaru Outback windshields. Trying to get Subaru to replace it again. There needs to be a recall! Windshields should not crack spontaneously or so easily. Thank you!
The temperature outside was below freezing and I was running the defrost on the highest temp. There was a loud pop and I thought maybe something had hit the windshield, but there was nothing. Then a few days later I noticed a crack emerging just above where the wiper rests. It proceeded to move up, then out in a T, then curl around and meet itself, it has just continued to spread. The dealership (Rogers Subaru, Lewiston, ID) traced the cracks with a pen but was not able to find any damage aside from the crack.
The head unit of the vehicle has malfunctioned causing the following: - Touch screen is non-responsive - Rearview camera is blurry/difficult to see out of making backing up dangerous - The entertainment unit has deleted paired phones making connecting a phone impossible The vehicle has been inspected by the dealer and they recommended ordering a new head unit.
I just bought my 2019 Outback less than a month ago in perfect condition. One morning when I was leaving for work I noticed a crack about 6 inches long in the windshield. The crack is rapidly spreading, it tripled in size in less than 3 weeks. I believe my windshield is defective.
At about 35,000 miles the car would not start. Had the battery checked and was told it was fine. Subaru garage could not find a parasitic drain. Replaced the battery and the car still would not start reliably. Took the car back to the Subaru garage and they had it for 5 days and at first said the DCM needed to be replaced then they back tracked and said the car was fine and they could not find anything wrong with it. Subaru garage told me to contact Subaru and they would give me a $500.00 "gift card" and I could bring it back and they could put in an AGM battery and a battery tender. The car would not start a total of approximately 8-10 times unless it was kept on a trickle charger. I did not want to have to rely on plugging my car in all the time. We sold the car because we could not have an unreliable vehicle.
The windshield on the Outback do not hold up. I have replaced my windshield 2 times. About to replace for a 3 time. All within 13 months. All Subaru windshields. I’m a cautious driver and do not drive close to others. A rock has hit the windshield but it automatically cracks over 8 inches. Not repairable. I’ve never had this problem with my other vehicles.
Rear axle seal was leaking. Found during oil change and tire rotation. Vehicle has 47,000 miles.
I will be on my FOURTH windshield in less than a year. Cracked for no reason four times!
Battery drained. Will not hold a charge. From what I’ve been reading it seems there is a problem in the electrical system that is draining the batteries of these cars.
Minor rock caused major windshield damage where the crack line continues to creep across the window.
While car was parked overnight the windshield cracked. The windshield was not cracked and there were no signs of any damage when I left the car 12 hours prior. The next morning it was cracked with no sign of any debris or solid matter that may have caused it. I am happy it did not happen while driving. I have an appointment to get it fixed May 10, 2022 at 10 am. I was told by an independent service provider that the wind shield was cracked but had no signs of being struck by anything. He told me he had multiple customers who had similar stories about their windshields. He suggested I check for a recall. There is not a recall yet, but there has been a lawsuit that ruled against Subaru. (see link) https://www.torquenews.com/1084/new-ruling-subaru-cracked-windshield-lawsuit-now-adds-25m-cars
Rear tailgate fails to open consistently making it impossible to enter or exit the vehicle from the rear, through the rear tail gate door (the 5th door). Nine times we have brought vehicle back to authorized Subaru dealerships over the last two years of ownership in Hanover Ma-Planet Subaru; San Francisco -Serramonte Subaru and lastly in San Diego- Kearny Mesa. The rear tail gate does not open consistently while pressing the open button on either of the key fobs or from trying the driver's side interior release button or while attempting to use the hatch release button at the exterior rear of the vehicle. Many times we have tried all three standard methods to open the rear tail gate but with no success making this rear tail gate feature on this mid size SUV useless. This problem has been verified at Planet Subaru, Hanover, Ma and at Serramonte Subaru S.F. Could not duplicate it at our last appointment in Kearny Mesa San Diego in 2022 but it still continues to be a real problem. On multiple occasions, the car battery had been inadvertently drained because the rear tail gate did not close completely and the dash warning light confirmed this to be the case. Subaru adjusted the closing mechanism/replaced it and this seems to have solved the closure issue but not the opening function of the tailgate. The problem surfaced soon after our initial purchase of vehicle in July of 2020. Car is available for inspection.
The car was purchased as a certified used vehicle in January of 2022 and has been driven under 10,000 miles at this point. Last weekend, after returning to the car where it was parked, a crack extending from passenger side of the windshield near the edge all the way to the middle of the windshield had appeared. Nothing hit the car. It had not been there earlier that day. The car had not been exposed to any excessive heat or cold. The repair is over 1000$ and I was sure there had to be other people with this experience- I was not surprised to find a class-action lawsuit for this very problem already filed against Subaru. I am 100% sure this is Subaru's fault and I believe they are obligated to reimburse us the cost of the repair.
THE COMPONENT IS THE REMOTE AND THE BUTTON INSIDE THE CAR THAT CONTROLS THE HATCH. *WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK BUT STILL RUNNING, THE RELEASE BUTTON WON'T OPEN THE GATE. *WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND NO DOOR IS OPENED, THE GATE WILL NOT RELEASE.* SOMETIMES THE REMOTE WON'T RELEASE THE GATE. *THE SAFETY ISSUE IS IT REDUCES AN EMERGENCY EXIT. *I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT SET FOR WED. APRIL 27, 2022 FOR ANALYSIS AND REPAIR. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE I FIRST PURCHASED THE CAR.* I MENTIONED IT WHEN I HAD IT IN FOR a separate REPAIR, BUT WAS TOLD THERE WASN'T A PROBLEM. *THERE WAS NO SIGN OR SIGNAL OF ANY ISSUE FOR THE CAR.
The battery has gone dead 4 (four) times. The dealer checked it twice and said nothing was wrong with it. We have had to replace the battery ($178.07) but it also went dead. Three times, the car was in our garage, had been driven within a couple of days and the keys were not left in the car. Once it died when I had driven to the next town and had popped into a store for not more than 10 minutes and my husband had to leave work to come jump the car. We have found out that this is a persistent problem with some Subaru models and we feel the dealer did not disclose this. We now have to keep the car on a trickle charger ($74.18) and have to remember to disconnect when we leave and reconnect when we get back. Also, the passenger window cannot be lowered from the driver's side and the dealer didn't even look at it.
My windshield cracked as I was driving,a pop type noise. The cracks are at the bottom area in the middle of the windshield in a T slight Y shape.
The windshield cracked without any reason
Car windshield cracked with no reasons on a high way. The dealer has inspected the vehicle and confirmed the issue. Safety of the passengers at the front is at risk. Car is within three years.
Purchased new 2019 outback in 4/09/19 then on 12/31/2020 the battery died and a new battery had to be installed/ mileage:14135 then on 2/22/22 the battery died and a new battery had to be installed/ mileage: 22710 Dealer verified and installed new battery each time. No warning beforehand.
I own a Subaru Outback 2019, and am based out of Chicago. The car was parked outside during a snowfall. After snowfall I went out to clear the snow off my car, and turned on the defoggers of the car to help clear out the snow on the windshield. After brushing off the snow I noticed a huge crack on the lower part of the windshield across the windshield wiper deicer. There was no other probable cause for the crack. I believe it is the change in temperature when from using the defogger which has caused the windshield to crack. Subaru dealership denies that it is possible, and claims that I was somehow responsible for the crack.
Once in a while when I back up out of my driveway the brakes slam on but there is nothing behind me. My windshield cracked and I have to get a new one.
Windshield on 2019 Outback cracked without being chipped. This is the same as many, many other owners are complaining about. Lower passanger side of windshield cracked while setting at wifes work. Subaru knows about this defect and will not fix .
Abnormal draining of battery when I dont drive for a couple of days leaving me stranded due to my medical immobility. This has been ongoing for the past six months. . Several instances of where I have had to jump start it only to find the battery dead in a few days Have alerted dealer on issue and will need to be checked when I take it in for the Fuel Pump recall for which I was put on a waiting list as they did not have the parts in???? A very annoying problem with the battery even had to have it jump started thi evening. Unrelable
Chipped and cracked windshield. My first Subaru Outback was a 2018. The windshield was chipped 2 times than the third time I had it replaced at my expense. Traded that car in and the 2019 windshield cracked.
Two windshield cracking incidents in 6 months, from no apparent cause. Interferes with “eyesight” system.
The 2019 Subaru Outback Multimedia Touch Screen has stopped working multple times even when the software was updated. When the touch screen stops working there are two significant safety issues, hands free/blue tooth no longer works and the rear view camera stops working. 09/20 Touch Screen froze, stopped working 10/20 Touch Screen Call end button redialed previous number, touch screen froze 12/20 New Radio installed 04/21 Touch Screen had loud buzzing sound, black screen and then rebooted 08/21 Touch Screen loud buzzing, black screen, rebooted 09/21 Touch Screen rebooted Subaru of American contacted 08/21 no resolution as of yet
2019 Outback with 6500 miles on it. Battery just died. Sounds like the battery drain issue mentioned in ongoing lawsuit.
Front windshield has cracked 3 times from bottom, goes up and across to halfway point when driving on freeway after a stone is kicked up.
Not sure if it’s the battery itself or the alternator but the battery keeps draining and I have to keep calling to have the vehicle jump started. The vehicle is available for inspection and safety will be of concern if this continues to happen and I am out on the road somewhere remote. The dealer offered to test the battery but did not confirm the issue has occurred in other vehicles. There were no warning lights nor messages.
My battery died overnight . I jumó started and took it to Subaru who said I needed a new battery . My car has 28k miles and under 3 years since I bought it . They replace the battery and same thing happened 2 days later . I keep having to jumó start my car every other day and they don’t seem to know what the problem is .
The windshield all of the sudden cracked. There was no impact, nothing hit the window, it just suddenly cracked and keeps getting larger. Started on the very edge of the window on the passenger side and Crack is now grown to the middle of the windshield
UNKNOWN Three times in five months when the car has been running and then turned off it won't start again for 15-30 minutes. Everything regarding the engine is locked. Can't even put in neutral to move vehicle if in traffic.
In February 2021 I noticed that there was a long crack developing in my windshield - literally not there the night before - and there was no chip or location of rock impact, it simply cracked from the very top of the windshield.
Windshield seemingly cracked without any provocation/collision. Crack occurred while vehicle was parked away from traffic, and requires windshield replacement.
1. System failed. We purchased this car on 6/2/20, with a mileage of 6,174 miles. We are retired and don't drive much; for shorter distances we mostly rode our bicycles. In our recent living environment we can park cars outside in spaces, and in a large underground parking garage. While we did not drive much, I still needed to work on bicycles using tools stored in the rear trunk compartment, with the trunk lid in open position. What I did not know was that even the mere open car trunk was run electrically, though the large electronic dashboard gave a clue of a rather massive reliance on functions run electronically; after a mere 2-3 days of not driving we were made rudely aware that keeping the trunk lid open for any amount of time was a recipe for not being able to use the car when most needed; I should add here that the many Subaru drivers in our complex did not seem to have that problem as they are all "professional" drivers. We called our designated towing service and had to wait for over 3 hours for a rep to show up. Not having bought a car in years we were amazed how quickly the tow driver pulled out an electronic gadget and started the car. It immediately bought one like that, an electronic jump starter. SAFETY. Had my wife had to find transportation to an urgent appointment it would have become a safety problem. PROBLEM CONFIRMATION. No, it has not, except by me, as any greater than fleeting use of electricity in this car is a recipe for disaster. COMPONENT INSPECTED. Yes. After 2 more battery outages I took the car to the dealer and explained the problem (which had little impact on the employee). I had the battery checked, it was fine and working as designed. On 9/25/21, after another battery outage I took the car to the dealer again; again everything was operating as designed. SYMPTOMS OF THE PROBLEM. No. ASSESSMENT. I concluded I needed to keep the car RUNNING when using any function more than 5 minutes. This car is a computer on wheels.
The windshield on this Subaru has been replaced 4 times. Each time has been a crack that starts where the frame and windshield meet. No breakage or cracks have occurred in the center of the glass. The glass has been replaced by the dealer, and replacement has been needed within 6-9 months. The last occurrence was in my (driver) line of sight, which was a safety hazard. The prior 3 occurrences originated on the passenger side. The manufacturer is aware of this problem, with no recall or attempt to change the windshield glass.
Vehicle was parked for four and a half days in a public garage, with which I pay for monthly parking. Upon my request, vehicle was waiting for me to pick it up. The vehicle seemed to be intact. Just after leaving the garage, I used the front, then the back wipers to clean the windshields. The back (hatch) windshield completely shattered into the vehicle. Nothing hit it, no accidents with other vehicles or objects occurred. While no one was hurt, the incident was alarming. The integrity and strength of a vehicle's windows/ and windshields are important. There was no prior warning or alert.
WE WERE DRIVING SOUTH ON 275 BETWEEN 8MILE AND 7MILE IN MICHIGAN IN OUR 2019 SUBARU OUTBACK AND OUT OF NOWHERE WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A PISTOL BEING SHOT NEXT TO OUR EARS WENT OFF AND GLASS CAME POURING IN FROM THE SUNROOF. WHAT HAPPENED WAS THE SUNROOF EXPLODED OUT OF NOWHERE. WHILE DRIVING 70MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. WE CONTACTED SUBARU OF AMERICA AND THEY TOLD US THAT WITHOUT EVERY SHARD OF GLASS FOR THEM TO INSPECT WE COULD NOT PROVE THAT IT WAS A DEFECT. HOWEVER LET ME MAKE A NOTE THERE WERE NOT CARS VERY CLOSE TO US, WE WEREN'T GOING UNDER A BRIDGE AND THERE WASN'T ANY ONE THROWING THINGS ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. HOWEVER SUBARU BLAMED AN IMAGINARY PEBBLE THAT HIT THE TOP OF THE SUNROOF DEAD ON AND THAT IMAGINARY PEBBLE DID NOT END UP INSIDE OF OUR CAR.

OUR SUBARU 2019 OUTBACK SUFFERED A CRACK DURING NORMAL USAGE ON THE INTERSTATE AT APPROX. 50 MPH. THE CRACK OCCURRED TWO DAYS AGO (ON 5/2/2021) AND HAS SINCE GROWN DUE TO THE VEHICLE'S VIBRATION DURING USE. THE VEHICLE QUALIFIES AS A MAKE AND MODEL UNDER RECALL BY SUBARU FOR WINDSHIELD DEFECTS.
Mileage: 18,300
I PURCHASED A 2019 SUBARU OUTBACK IN DECEMBER 2018 AND HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD THREE TIMES IN JUST OVER TWO YEARS (JUNE 2019, NOVEMBER 2020, APRIL 2021). I OWNED A 2006 SUBARU OUTBACK FOR OVER 10 YEARS AND NEVER HAD TO REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD. THIS IS A SAFETY RISK AND A DESIGN FLAW AND IT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED.
Mileage: 10,000
THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED ON ITS OWN. NO IMPACT. RESEARCH SAYS THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR THIS DEFECT. VEHICLE STATIONARY.
Mileage: 28,000
DEAD BATTERY EVEN WHEN I TAKE THE CAR OUT FOR SHORT DRIVES I READ IT'S CAUSES BY ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THAT DRAINS THE BATTERY
Mileage: 3,000
WINDSHIELD CRACK THAT STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM EDGE OF WINDSHIELD. I LITERALLY WOKE UP TO A CRACK THAT DEVELOPED OVERNIGHT AFTER A REGULAR COLD NIGHT IN RENO NV. THE CRACK CONTINUED GROWING SINCE THEN. I HAVE NEVER OWN A VEHICLE THAT HAS CRACKED ITS WINDSHIELD JUST BECAUSE IT IS A COLD NIGHT. VEHICLE WAS PARKED OVERNIGHT WHEN CRACK DEVELOPED.
Mileage: 16,202
MY WINDSHIELD SEEMS TO CRACK/CHIP UNREASONABLY EASY. THE FIRST CRACK WAS A FEW WEEKS AGO. I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING HIT IT. IT JSUT STARTED CRACK. THIS MORNING, I GOT ANOTHER CHIP AND IT'S NOW SPREADING ALSO. I NOW HAVE TWO CRACKS IN MY WINDSHIELD AND NUMEROUS CHIPS!
SPONTANEOUS CRACK IN MY WINDSHIELD. NO IMPACT EVERY NOTICED. I NOTICED WHEN I WAS DRIVING AT DUSK AND USED MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS TO CLEAR RAIN. I SAW A GLISTEN AT THE BOTTOM AND WAS SURPRISED TO SEE A CRACK.
Mileage: 10,300
SPONTANEOUS CRACK IN WINDSHIELD NOTICED AND REPORTED TO SUBARU ON 9/13/19. I WAS DRIVING IN THE LATE AFTERNOON. NO VEHICLES NEAR ME WHEN I HEARD A "POP". VEHICLE PURCHASED NEW 8/24/19.

THE GLASS WINDSHIELD IS DEFECTIVE. THIS IS THE SECOND I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE IN A YEAR. I CAME OUT TO MOVE MY CAR AND NOTICED A CRACK ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD. I PARK IN A PRIVATE DRIVEWAY AND NO CARS WERE AROUND IT.
Mileage: 26,000
SINCE MAY OF 2019 WE HAVE HAD THE WINDSHIELD REPLACED AND EYESIGHT CALIBRATED 5 TIMES. WE DRIVE THE SAME ROUTE WITH BOTH VEHICLES (OTHER IS NOT SUBARU) AND NO DAMAGE TO THE OTHER VEHICLE FOR AT LEAST 6 YEARS NOW.
BATTERY TOTALLY DEAD UPON ENTERING AND ATTEMPTING TO START. WINDSCREEN COMMENCED TO CRACK WHILE TRAVELING.
Mileage: 28,000
I WAS PICKING MY SON UP FROM SCHOOL WHEN THE CRACK STARTED, AS I SAT IN THE PARKING LOT IT CONTINUED DOWN AND ACROSS THE CENTER OF THE WINDSHIELD. THERE WERE NO CHIPS OR DINGS TO BE FOUND. I DO BELIEVE IT CAUSES THE FORWARD CRASH INDICATOR TO TRIP SOONER THAN IT SHOULD.
Mileage: 22,000
I PURCHASED MY OUTBACK IN APRIL OF 2019. WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, MY OUTBACK'S WINDSHIELD CRACKED IN JUNE OF 2019 AND MY LOCAL SUBARU DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD DURING THE SUMMER OF 2019. THEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY IN JULY OF 2019 THE WINDSHIELD OF MY 2019 OUTBACK CRACKED AGAIN. SUBARU OUTBACK'S REPLACEMENT WINDSHIELDS ARE NO BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL WINDSHIELDS. THEY ARE DEFECT AS WELL. MY 2019 SUBARU OUTBACK'S WINDSHIELD HAS CRACKED TWICE IN AN 14-MONTH PERIOD.
Mileage: 100
WE DEVELOPED TWO SPONTANEOUS CRACKS IN OUR WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, PARKED IN OUR GARAGE. NO DEBRIS HIT THE WINDSHIELD AT ANY TIME. THE CRACKS BEGIN UNDER/AT THE DRIVER SIDE NEAR/UNDER THE WIPER UNIT. (THE CRACKS ESSENTIALLY FORM A WIDE "V" ONE CRACK TOWARD THE PASSENGER SIDE IS QUITE LONG AND GROWING, THE OTHER IS SHORT - ABOUT 3" NOW ALSO GROWING). THE LOCATION OF THE BEGINNING OF THE CRACK/S IS UNDER THE LEVEL OF THE HOOD OF THE CAR, WHICH WOULD ALSO MAKE IT NEAR IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE CRACK TO BE DUE TO A PEBBLE, GRAVEL, ETC.
Mileage: 16,700
SUBARU OUTBACK 2019 IS UNDER WARRANTY - PURCHASED 4-6-2019 12/3/2020 CAR WHICH IS IN THE GARAGE WOULD NOT START. BATTERY WAS DEAD/DRAINED,INDICATOR LIGHT WAS ON. CALLED SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY RECOMMENDED THAT I CALL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO JUMP AND START THE BATTERY GOT CAR STARTED, LET IT RUN FOR 40 MINUTES. THEY DID NOT CHECK THE ALTERNATOR BUT WE ASKED THEM TO. TURNED THE CAR OFF AFTER 40 MINUTES AND PUT THE CAR BACK IN THE GARAGE.- 12/4/2020 - MORNING - CAR STARTED, WENT TO MY DESTINATION. RETURNED HOME, TURNED OFF THE CAR NOTICED CLICKING SOUNDS FOR 5 MIN WHICH I HAD NEVER HEARD BEFORE. 12/4/2020. ARRIVED HOME - TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. WHEN I TRIED TO START CAR TO PARK IT IN THE GARAGE, CAR STARTED BUT THE STARTER MOTOR WAS VERY SLUGGISH AT THE ONSET. DEC 16, 2020 - TRIED TO START THE CAR WHICH IS IN THE GARAGE AND IT WOULD NOT START, TOTALLY DEAD ..NO LIGHTS. SEND ATTACHED LETTER TO MANAGER OF SERVICE. NO RESPONSE YET.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND MY WINDSHIELD CRACKED AT THE PASSENGER SIDE BOTTOM AS THE CRACK TRAVELED UP THE WINDSHIELD. I DID NOT NOTICE ANYTHING HIT IT.

I BOUGHT A CERTIFIED SUBARU OUTBACK 2019 IN FEBRUARY 2020 WITH 4500 ODOMETERS READING. WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON THE HIGHWAY ON MARCH 15, 2020, A TINY STONE HIT ON MY WINDSHIELD AND CRACKED MY WINDSHIELD. I REPLACED IT ON JUNE 17, 2020 WHICH COST ME $960.
Mileage: 5,000
I JUST EXPERIENCED MY SECOND WINDSHIELD BREAKAGE AND WAS NOT HIT BY A ROCK, OBJECT, ETC. BOTH TIMES I WAS DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE (I95 IN FLORIDA). THE FIRST TIME (2019) WAS MID AFTERNOON, LOW TRAFFIC PATTERN. THE MOST RECENT TIME (NOV 2020) WAS APPROX 5:45AM ON INTERSTATE 95 NORTH HEADED TO WORK. THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC IN EITHER DIRECTION FOR MILES.
DRIVER'S SIDE VENT WINDOW SHATTERED WITHOUT IMPACT ON 10/31/2020 WHILE IN TRANSIT SOUTHBOUND ON ROUTE 28 NEAR HIGHLANDS PARK BRIDGE NEAR PITTSBURGH, PA., MOVING AT APPROX. 55MPH. DRIVER'S SIDE WAS FACING TOWARDS A RIVER SEPARATED FROM NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC BY AN APPROX. 40 FOOT DROP. NO TRAFFIC WAS IN FRONT/BEHIND/TO THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AT THE TIME.
Mileage: 29,000
WINDSHIELD CRACKED ON ITS OWN (CLEARLY NO POINT OF IMPACT). STARTED AT THE BASE OF THE WINDSHIELD, ABOUT 3 INCHES TO THE RIGHT (PASSANGER) SIDE OF THE MIDLINE. PROPAGATED THROUHGOUT THE WHOLE WINDSHIELD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
Mileage: 35,800
HAVE 10,000 MILES ON MY 2019 SUBARU AND HAVE BEEN STRANDED TWICE BECAUSE OF BATTERIE. SUBARU HAVE CHANGED TWO BATTERIES SO FAR
I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE SINCE LATE MAY 2019 AND I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 4 WINDSHIELDS DUE TO CRACKS THAT DEVELOPED FROM BOTH MINOR ROCK STRIKES AND WHEN NOTHING HAS DAMAGED IT.
Mileage: 34,000
THE CAR WAS PURCHASED CERTIFIED PRE OWNED WITH LESS THAN 20000 MILES. AFTER I GOT MY FIRST CAR WASH NOTICED THOUSANDS OF PIT IN THE WINDOW. THEY HAD IT SUPER COVERED WITH A COMPOUND THE WASH TOOK OFF. NOW FOR NO REASON A HUGE CRAKE WENT THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD! WARRANTY OF COURSE WON'T COVER IT. WHAM!!! $$1000 REPAIR! I HAVE HAD CAR LESS THEN THREE MONTHS.
Mileage: 20,000
DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND MY SUNROOF EXPLODES. THERE WERE NO CARS AROUND. NO INDICATION OF SOMETHING HITTING IT, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING I HAD A LARGE CARGO ROOF BOX COVERING THE WINDSHIELD. IF SOMETHING DID HIT IT, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN AN IMPOSSIBLE ANGLE TO CLEAR THE ROOFBOX BUT ALSO NOT MAKE ANY OTHER MARKS ON MY CAR? I HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR TWO WEEKS. THANKFULLY HAD THE SUNSHADE CLOSED BECAUSE IF NOT, GLASS WOULD HAVE EXPLODED INTO THE CAR AND ONTO ME DRIVING AS WELL. NOW THE GLASS WAS SPEWED OVER THE INTERSTATE AND I HAVE AN OBVIOUS UNLOCKED ENTRY POINT INTO MY CAR. WHEN IT EXPLODED, IT SOUNDED LIKE A SHOTGUN BLAST. I THOUGHT I WAS BEING SHOT AT.
Mileage: 14,000
WE BOUGHT OUR 2019 SUBARU OUTBACK IN MAY, 2019. BEFORE WE HAD 1000 MILES, A ROCK HIT THE WINDSHIELD AND CRACKED IT. FIRST REPLACEMENT/RECALIBRATION. THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING IN THE GARAGE IN FEBRUARY 2020 WHEN I NOTICED A CRACK ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD. A SECOND REPLACEMENT/RECALIBRATION. THIS MORNING (8/24/2020) WHEN I GOT IN MY CAR IN THE PARKING LOT TO RETURN HOME FROM MD VA I NOTICED MY THIRD CRACKED WINDSHIELD. I WILL BE REPLACING IT SOON. I HAVE COMPREHENSIVE COVERAGE THROUGH GEICO, SO I HAVE NO OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES, BUT I BELIEVE THAT SOMETHING MUST BE LACKING IN THE DESIGN OR QUALITY OF THE WINDSHIELD TO HAVE IT CRACK THREE TIMES IN 15 MONTHS.
Mileage: 18,895
FRONT WINDSHIELD IS CRACKED IN SAME LOCATION, TWO SEPARATE EVENTS, OVER A PERIOD OF 4 WEEKS. EACH TIME THE CRACK APPEARS TO ORIGINATE IN THE TOP CENTER OF THE WINDSHIELD AND THEN THE CRACK MIGRATES TO THE CENTER OF THE WINDSHIELD.
Mileage: 21,000
MY WINDSHIELD HAVE BEEN REPLACE 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 8 MONTHS DO TO STRESS CRACKS HENDERSON GLASS IS NOT GOING TO REPLACE THEM AGAIN THEY ARE SAYING THAT IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE. PLEASE HELP THIS CANT BE HAPPENING I ALREADY PAY $600 FOR IT
I AM SUBMITTING A FORMAL COMPLAINT REGARDING THE SUBARU WINDSHIELD CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. I AM THE FLEET MANAGER OF A LARGE COMPANY. WE RECENTLY PURCHASED ABOUT 30 2019-2020 SUBARU VEHICLES INCLUDING THE OUTBACK, FORESTER AND LEGACY. APPROXIMATELY, 1/3 OF THEM EXPERIENCED A RANDOM WINDSHIELD BREAK. ALL OF THEM HAVE BEEN REPLACED. 3 OF THOSE REPLACED, CRACKED AGAIN. I'VE RECEIVED NO ASSISTANCE FROM SUBARU AND MY DRIVERS RECEIVE NO WARRANTY ASSISTANCE FROM THE DEALERSHIPS. I'D LIKE TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE TO ADD MY COMPLAINT TO THE GROWING LIST OF OTHER COMPLAINTS. I UNDERSTAND THE LAWSUIT COULD TAKE SOME TIME BEFORE A FINAL DECISION, I WANT TO MAKE SURE OUR VEHICLES ARE INCLUDED. THANK YOU
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND WINDSHIELD SPONTANEOUSLY CRACKED 3 INCHES. NO IMPACT FROM ROCK. HAVEN'T DRIVEN SINCE AND IT'S NOW CRACKED HALFWAY ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD. DEFINITELY A DEFECT.
Mileage: 11,300
WINDSHIELD SPONTANEOUSLY CRACKED. SUBARU REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AND ABOUT 5 MONTHS LATER THE REPLACEMENT ALSO SPONTANEOUSLY CRACKED. SUBARU HAS CLAIMED "OUTSIDE INFLUENCE" CAUSED THE REPLACEMENT TO CRACK AND HAS DECLINE TO REPLACE AGAIN UNDER WARRANTY. BOTH TIMES THE CRACKING HAPPENED DURING A SNOWFALL WHILE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. *TR
Mileage: 18,800
THE WINDSHIELD IS CRACKED. I WENT OUT TO MY CAR ON MAY 16 AND ON THE FRONT WINDSHIELD THERE WAS A "Y" SHAPED CRACK GOING UP FROM THE BOTTOM MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD. WHEN I WENT BACK OUTSIDE ON MAY 18, THE CRACK HAD SPREAD ABOUT 4 INCHES TOWARD EACH SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD. ON MAY 21, THE CRACK HAD SPREAD MORE AND IS CURVING AROUND. THE CAR WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY WHEN ALL OF THIS HAPPENED. *TR
Mileage: 25,000
WINDSHIELD HAS CRACKED FOR NO APPARENT SIGNIFICANT REASON. THIS WAS NOTICED IN THE MORNING UPON GETTING IN THE VEHICLE AND STARTING TO DRIVE. *TR
Mileage: 10,200
MY CAR WOULD NOT START (TODAY, O5/14/2020), I HAD TO CALL ROAD ASSIST, AND PERSON WHO JUMP STARTED MY CAR TOLD ME THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR MODEL, SUBARU OUTBACK 2019, FOR EXAMPLE TODAY HE HAD TO JUMP START 3 CARS EXACTLY LIKE MINE (SUBARU OUTBACK 2019). HE TOLD THAT BATTERY SHOULD NOT GO BAD THIS FAST, THAT SOMETHING IS DRAINING IT AND I SHOULD SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT WITH DEALERSHIP ASAP TO FIX THE ONGOING PROBLEM TO AVOID FUTURE HARDSHIP. I HAVE 9800 MILES ON MY CAR. *TR
Mileage: 9,800
UNKNOWN IT WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE FOR 2 DAYS, WHEN I CAME OUT THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD. *TR

I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE EYESIGHT DRIVER ASSIST IF THIS IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL. I HAVE THE CAR SET AT 3 CAR LENGTHS & USE CRUISE ALWAYS. ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN CRUISE IS SET TO 70 - WITH OR WITHOUT FOLLOWING ANOTHER CAR - I WILL LOOK DOWN AND I FIND MYSELF GOING 85 MILES AN HOUR. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY. OTHER PROBLEM IS THE SAFETY FEATURE OF STAYING IN ONE'S LANE. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO HOLD ONTO A STEERING WHEEL TO KEEP CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE LIKE I DO NOW. IT OVER-CORRECTS AND I HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN THROWN INTO ANOTHER LANE. THIS IS MOST DANGEROUS ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM SINCE GETTING THE CAR AND HAVE REPORTED IT AND HAVE BEEN BLOWN OFF BY SUBARU DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR AS WELL AS A LOCAL SUBARU REPAIR SHOP
18" LONG WINDSHIELD CRACK APPEARED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ABOUT 6" FROM THE BOTTOM. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT MAY HAVE CRACKED WHEN OR IF PEBBLE HIT IT. A LOT OF BUGS DIED ON MY WINDSHIELD THAT MORNING TOO SO I HAD TO USE MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND WASHER FLUID. I DID NOT NOTICE A CRACK BECAUSE IT WAS WAY TOO DARK IN THE MORNING TO SEE ANYTHING. I NOTICED THE CRACK AT 1PM IN THE PARKING LOT AT WORK GETTING READY TO GO HOME.
Mileage: 8,600
WINDSHIELD CRACKED, FOR NO APPARENT REASON, WHILE PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY, AND HAD TO BE REPLACED.
Mileage: 11,000
THE WINDSHIELD ON MY 2019 SUBARU OUTBACK CRACKED OUT OF NOWHERE WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO WORK. THERE HAD BEEN NOTHING UP TO THIS POINT THAT WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN THE WINDSHIELD CRACKING. THERE WERE NO CHIPS OR DENTS PREVIOUS TO THE CRACKING.
Mileage: 5,000
FRONT WINDOW CRACKED IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY GOING FORWARS.
Mileage: 800
I PURCHASED A 2019 SUBARU OUTBACK FOUR MONTHS AGO AND AM NOW ON MY THIRD WINDSHIELD. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 35 YEARS AND AT BEST HAD A SMALL CHIP ON MY WINDSHIELD. 4 MONTHS 3RD WINDSHIELD. NOT A CHIP BUT TOTALLY SHATTERED. WITH THE EYESIGHT TECHNOLOGY IN THE CAR IT'S VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE. THE FIRST WINDSHIELD WAS HIT BY SOMETHING THAT GRAZED OFF THE WINDSHIELD. THE SECOND I CAME OUT IN THE MORNING AND THE WINDSHIELD HAD A TWO FOOT LONG SPIT DOWN THE CENTER OF IT.
Mileage: 12,000

WINDSHIELD HAS SPONTANEOUSLY CRACKED FOUR DIFFERENT TIMES SINCE PURCHASE IN SEPTEMBER 2018. WINDSHIELD HAS BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES TO DATE. EACH TIME DAMAGE APPEARS TO START NEAR THE BOTTOM OF THE GLASS, THEN SPIDERS OUT. IT IS NOT CLEAR THAT ROAD DEBRIS OR ANY OTHER EXTERNAL FORCE CAUSED THE CRACKING. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT AND SHOULD BE CORRECTED BY SUBARU WITH A RE-DESIGNED PART. SENDING THE SAME WINDSHIELD OVER AND OVER DOES NOT FIX THE INHERENT PROBLEM. YOUR FORM DOES NOT ALLOW FOR MULTIPLE INCIDENCES OF THE SAME PROBLEM OVER TIME. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED DOCUMENTS. ARE YOU WORKING WITH SUBARU TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM?
Mileage: 22,000
WINDSHIELD CRACKED SPONTANEOUSLY. DRIVER WINDOW DOES NOT OPEN.
Mileage: 9,000
WINDSHIELD HAS A CRACK UNDER THE WIPER BLADE THAT HAS SPREAD OUTWARD IN A C PATTERN. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN SHOPPING AREA AND NO OTHER PERSONAL WERE NEARBY. WEATHER WAS CLEAR AND NO OBJECTS HAD IMPACTED THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. STAR PATTERN WAS NOTICED AFTER DEALERSHIP USED PEN TO OPEN THE AREA UP MORE. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PICTURE

AFTER OWNING 2019 SUBARU OUTBACK FOR 6 MONTHS, WASHING IT I FOUND 6 TO 7 CHIPS SCATTERED AROUND THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. I HAD THE WINDSHIELD REPLACED DUE TO LIVING IN FLORIDA, NOT WANTING TO TAKE ANY CHANCES. I DRIVING VEHICLES FOR MORE THAN 45 YEARS, I DON'T THINK THAT I HAD 6 CHIPS ON ALL THE VEHICLES COMBINED. I BELIEVE THAT SUBARU HAS INFERIOR QUALITY WINDSHIELD GLASS.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN A STATE HIGHWAY ON 9/26/19 AT 55 MPH MY PASSENGER AND I HEARD A SMALL LITTLE TICK SOUND AND SHE SAID, "THAT'S THE SAME SOUND MY CROSSTREK MADE ON MONDAY WHEN IT CHIPPED AND CRACKED THE WINDSHIELD". SO WE STARTED LOOKING AROUND THE WINDSHIELD AND SURE ENOUGH NOW MINE WAS CHIPPED AND CRACKED AT 5 WEEKS OF AGE, BOTH VEHICLES WERE BOUGHT NEW. THEN A FEW WEEKS LATER, 10/12/19, ON AN INTERSTATE AT 70MPH ANOTHER SMALL, INSIGNIFICANT TICK AND I START LOOKING AROUND AND AGAIN, SAME THING. YESTERDAY (AS OF THIS POST) ON A STATE HIGHWAY AT 55MPH, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME THIS TIME THE SAME SMALL TICK SOUND YET ANOTHER CHIP AND CRACK! I'VE HIT BUGS HARDER THAN THESE HITS THAT ARE PRODUCING CHIPS AND CRACKS!! BOTH MY 2019 CROSSTREK AND 2019 OUTBACK NOW HAVE MULTIPLE CHIPS AND CRACKS IN THEIR BRAND NEW WINDSHIELDS AND NONE OF THEM ARE FROM LEGITIMATE IMPACTS WITH A STONE OR ROCK.
Mileage: 4,000
WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF DRIVING MY BRAND NEW 2019 OUTBACK, I HAD AN 10-TO-12-INCH CRACK IN MY WINDSHIELD. I AM AN INCREDIBLY CAREFUL DRIVER AND HAD ONLY BEEN DRIVING ON PAVED ROADS AT MODERATE SPEEDS. I ALSO WAS DRIVING A PASSENGER AROUND DURING THIS TIME PERIOD AND NEITHER ONE OF US HEARD A SOUND (E.G., A ROCK OR PEBBLE FLYING UP AND HITTING THE WINDSHIELD). I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE HOW I COULD HAVE GOTTEN A LARGE CRACK WITHIN THE FIRST TEN DAYS ON THE ROAD, ESPECIALLY SINCE NEITHER I NOR MY PASSENGER ENCOUNTERED ANY SORT OF ROAD CONDITION OR ENVIRONMENTAL/WEATHER CONDITION THAT MIGHT HAVE CAUSED IT. IT JUST MYSTERIOUSLY APPEARED IN THE WINDSHIELD ONE DAY. I HAVE BEEN CONFUSED FOR THE PAST 6 WEEKS BUT THEN I HEARD THAT THERE HAD BEEN SIMILAR ISSUES WITH SUBARU WINDSHIELDS, AND I BELIEVE MINE IS SIMPLY DEFECTIVE. I CANNOT AFFORD TO FIX IT, AND THIS REPAIR IS NOT COVERED BY MY EXTENDED 10-YEAR WARRANTY. THE SUBARU DEALERSHIP CONNECTED ME WITH SAFELITE, WHICH GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE OF OVER $1500 TO REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD.
Mileage: 100
WINDSHIELD CRACKED FOR NO APPARENT REASON, LARGE CRACK ON PASSENGER SIDE. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON CITY STREETS WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
Mileage: 3,000
CRACK APPEARED IN WINDSHIELD WITH NO APPARENT CAUSE AND QUICKLY EXPANDED, REQUIRING REPLACEMENT. FIRST NOTICED CRACK WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREET. NO VISIBLE NICK, NOTHING APPEARED TO HAVE HIT WINDSHIELD PRIOR TO APPEARANCE OF CRACK.
HAD MY NEW CAR FOR 2 MONTHS AND WAS DRIVING ABOUT 50 MILES AN HOUR ON THE FREEWAY, IN THE FAR RIGHT LANE TO PREPARE TO EXIT. HEARD A SOUND FROM THE RIGHT FRONT OF THE CAR, THEN NOTICED A VERY SMALL CRACK IN THE UPPER RIGHT SIDE OF FRONT WINDSHIELD AND THOUGHT A ROCK WAS KICKED UP BY ANOTHER CAR BUT SAW NO OBJECTS AND THERE WERE FEW CARS DRIVING NEAR ME. IT SEEMED ODD AND UNSAFE THAT A WINDSHIELD COULD CRACK FROM LITTLE TO NO IMPACT. OVER THE NEXT DAY, THE SMALL CRACK EXPANDED TO ABOUT 12 INCHES. SPENT $847 TO REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD AND RE-CALIBRATE EYESIGHT.
Mileage: 3,500
OUR WINDSHIELD HAS CRACKED TWICE IN ONE YEAR. THE SECOND CRACK OCCURRED SIX WEEKS AFTER REPLACEMENT OVERNIGHT WHILE PARKED IN A GARAGE. IT EXTENDS THROUGH THE REAR VIEW MIRROR ATTACHMENT.
Mileage: 12,015
FRONT WINDSHIELD JUST CRACKED ON A PARKED VEHICLE FROM THE MID LEVEL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. SEARCHING ONLINE FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER USERS HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEM. HAVE JUST 6000 MILES ON THE CAR AND IT HAS BEEN JUST 5 MONTHS SINCE I BROUGHT THE NEW CAR.
Mileage: 5,500
I WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MILES PER HOUR, COMING DOWN FROM A MOUNTAIN RANGE AND JUST REACHED THE BOTTOM. I CROSSED A CATTLE GUARD AND MY SUNROOF SHATTERED. I DO NOT BELIEVE I ROCK HIT AS THE DEALERSHIP BELIEVES AS THEIR WAS NO ONE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME AND I WAS IN A REMOTE AREA OF ARIZONA. I BELIEVE THE SUNROOF SHATTERED FOR EITHER NO REASON OR POSSIBLY CHANGE IN ELEVATION AND TEMPERATURES. THIS IS NOT SAFE. LUCKILY MY SHIELD WAS CLOSED, BUT THE SOUND ALONE WAS STARTLING AND COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT.
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY WITH NO ONE AROUND AT 7 AM ON SUNDAY AT 75 MPH THE SUNROOF EXPLODED. OUR SUN SHADE WAS CLOSED SO ALL GLASS WAS BLOWN ACROSS ROOF TAKING PAINT WITH IT. SUBARU REPLACED UNDER GOODWILL NOT WARRANTY.
Mileage: 13,000
WINDSHIELD HAS CRACKED TWO TIMES IN THE 3 MONTHS I'VE OWN THE CAR. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY A TINY STONE HIT THE WINDSHIELD AND IT RAN ALL THE ACROSS IMMEDIATELY. I HAD IT REPLACED AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. JUST NOT NORMAL.
Mileage: 1,500
ENGINE DOES NOT BRAKE WHEN GOING DOWNHILL AS THE MANUAL SAYS IT SHOULD. MY PREVIOUS OUTBACKS (2006, 2011, 2017) DID HAVE ENGINE BRAKING. REGIONAL SERVICE OFFICE SUGGESTED I PLACE THE CAR IN CRUISE CONTROL IN ORDER TO CONTROL THE SPEED. CAR PICKS UP SPEED QUICKLY, SO USING THE BRAKE PEDAL IS THE BEST OPTION. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM IS NO ENGINE BRAKING WHEN THERE SHOULD BE AT LEAST SOME. THIS IS DANGEROUS ON ANY HILL. SECOND, STEERING IS PROBLEMATIC. FIRST, THERE IS TO MUCH PLAY IN THE STEERING WHEEL. SECOND, WHEN IN CRUISE CONTROL, THE STEERING WHEEL SEEMS TO HAVE A MIND OF ITS OWN, ESPECIALLY ON CURVES. I AM CONSTANTLY HAVING TO WORK AT CONTROLLING THE STEERING WHEEL. IT'S VERY TIRING. THE THIRD ISSUE IS IN REGARD TO THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM SHOWING INACCURATE SPEED LIMITS. I NOTICED THIS PROBLEM HAD BEEN REPORTED AS EARLY AS FEBRUARY 2019. I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE SINCE MAY 31, 2019.

BOUGHT JULY 6 @SUBARU OF PORT RICHEY FOUND IT HAD 1 UNREPAIRED RECALL ON IT, SUBARU WUH93 NHTSA'S #19V493000, DAYS AFTER I HAD TAKEN POSSESSION. THEY SOLD ME AS NEW A CAR WITH A RECALL GIVING ME KEYS AND SENDING ME HOME. SUBARU HAS CONFIRMED ALL DEALERS WERE NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL WUH93. HAVE ALL DOCUMENTS AND COPIOUS E-MAILS, TO UPHOLD MY CLAIM. I WANT THEM TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR BREAKING U.S.C 49 - 30112(A)(3). C.F.R.301120(I) AND SELLING, AND DELIVERING (KEYS) A VEHICLES TO AN ELDERLY COUPLE, WITH SAFETY RECALLS ON IT, TO DRIVE HOME,. AND THEN DAYS LATER NOTIFY ME OF THE RECALL.
Mileage: 68
THE CERTIFIED SUBARU WINDSHIELDS ARE TOO THIN. THEY BREAK WITH LITTLE TO NO IMPACT. I'VE HAD TO REPLACE TWO SO FAR WITH ONLY 3400 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. HAVE I MENTIONED HOW EXPENSIVE THESE WINDSHIELDS ARE TO REPLACE, UPWARDS OF $1600. I KNOW SUBARU HAD A PREVIOUS GLASS RECALL, BUT SOMEONE NEEDS TO LOOK, INTO THE 2019 WINDSHIELDS.
Mileage: 3,400
FRONT WINDSHIELD SUSTAINED A SMALL CHIP IN THE UPPER AREA BEHIND THE REARVIEW MIRROR AND HAS SUBSEQUENTLY TURNED INTO A HUGE CRACK EXTENDING ACROSS AND DOWN THE PASSENGER SIDE. THERE WAS A PREVIOUS CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR THE 15-16 OUTBACKS REGARDING THE WINDSHIELD. THE FACT THAT THE WINDSHIELD IS CRACKING THIS EASILY FROM A SMALL CHIP LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT THEY DID NOT FIX THE ISSUES FROM THE PREVIOUS 15-16 MODEL YEAR WINDSHIELD DESIGN.
Mileage: 12,000
WHEN I DRIVE MY NEW 2019 SUBARU OUTBACK WITH EYESIGHT (ONE MONTH OLD) ON HIGHWAY, A TRUCK RUNS OVER ROCKS AND THEY HITS MY WINDSHIELD. THEN THE WINDSHIELD HAS CHIPS AND CRACKS. THE CRACKS GROW LARGER THAN A DOLLAR BILL IN FEW MINUTES AND ONE CRACK IS LARGER THAN 22 INCHES IN FEW HOURS. IT SEEMS TO ME THE WINDSHIELD IS NOT WELL MADE AND DOES NOT HAVE GOOD QUALITY. IT IS NOT SAFE.
Mileage: 2,179
I WAS DRIVING FROM SACRAMENTO TO LONG BEACH - ABOUT 200 MILES INTO THE JOURNEY, AT ABOUT 6:10/6:15 ON A MILD EVENING (TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 75) MY SUNROOF SUDDENLY EXPLODED. THE ROAD CONDITION WERE FINE, THERE WAS NO DEBRIS IN THE ROAD THAT I COULD SEE OR WAS AWARE OF. I WAS TRAVELING WITH TRAFFIC AT ABOUT 75 MPH (SPEED LIMIT IS 70). THE SOUND WAS LIKE A SHOTGUN BLAST. IT WAS, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, ONE OF THE MOST FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCES I'VE HAD, PARTICULARLY IN A VEHICLE. I PULLED OVER AND SAW WHAT HAD OCCURRED. IT IS UNLIKELY THAT SOMETHING STRUCK THE SUNROOF - I HAD A THULE CARGO BOX ON THE VEHICLE AND NOTHING COULD HAVE STRUCK IT FROM ABOVE. IT WAS ALSO UNLIKELY FOR SOMETHING TO HAVE HIT THE WINDSHIELD FROM THE ROAD - IT WOULD HAVE HAD TO FIT IN THE SPACE BETWEEN THE HOOD AND THE CARGO BOX AND I HEARD NOTHING BEFORE THE EXPLOSION - ADDITIONALLY, THERE IS NO DAMAGE OR EVIDENCE OF ANYTHING HITTING THE ROOF ANYWHERE ELSE THAT I CAN SEE NOW. I HAVE CONTACTED SUBARU AND MADE THEM AWARE THEY HAVE BEGUN THEIR OWN INTERNAL INVESTIGATION.

ON 4/10/19 AS I WAS GETTING INTO MY CAR, I NOTICED A HUGE CRACK ON MY DRIVER SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD THAT STARTS FROM THE BASE RUNNING TOWARD THE CENTER OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE CAR WAS BOUGHT ON JAN 20TH OF 2019 AND HAS 4200 MILES. CALLED SAFELITE AND THEY ARE ESTIMATING $1300+ TO REPLACE.
Mileage: 4,200
THE WINDSHIELD DEVELOPED A CRACK AND SIGNIFICANT EXPANSION CRACKS WHILE DRIVING 70MPH ON A HIGHWAY ON 27MAR2019. THERE WAS NO CAR WITHIN 1-2 FOOTBALL FIELDS. THIS WAS ON A 4-LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY. THE PEBBLE THAT MAY HAVE HIT MY WINDSHIELD SHOULD NOT HAVE CAUSED THE SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE WINDSHIELD SINCE NO VEHICLE WAS NEARBY. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR <2 MONTHS AND HAVE DRIVEN IT ~3500 MILES. IT WAS BRAND NEW. IT APPEARS THERE IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT MAY BE SIMILAR TO THE 2015-2016 OUTBACK. I AM CONCERNED THAT THERE MAY CONTINUED CRACKS/FRACTURES OF THE WINDSHIELD WITH MINIMAL TRAUMA. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.
Mileage: 3,569
I WAS EMAILING ABOUT MY CONCERN FOR MY 2019 OUTBACK AND THE ONGOING ISSUES WITH THE WINDSHIELD. I HAD AN ISSUE WHERE MY WINDSHIELD WAS STRUCK WITH SOME SMALL DEBRIS AND CAUSED A CRACK IN MY WINDSHIELD. A WEEK LATER IT CRACKED SEVERELY ON THE BOTTOM PASSENGER SIDE. TWO WEEKS' AFTER, A SMALL PEBBLE HIT THE TOP PASSENGER SIDE ON THE WINDSHIELD AND CAUSED A PIT. A WEEK AFTER THAT ISSUE IT ALSO CRACKED SEVERELY WHERE THE SECOND HIT OCCURRED. I AM AWARE OF THE CLASS ACTION ISSUE FOR FRONT WINDSHIELDS FROM 2016 TO 2017 FOR OUTBACK'S. IS THIS AN ONGOING PROBLEM? IF SO HOW CAN YOUR COMPANY CLAIM TO THE SAFEST VEHICLE ON THE ROAD IF THE WINDSHIELD CONTINUES TO HAVE ISSUES. I HAVE A BABY ON THE WAY IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND NOW I DOUBT THE SAFETY OF MY CHOICE. I NOW HAVE TO USE MY INSURANCE, MY MONEY AND TAKE TIME OUT OF MY BUSYNESS TO HAVE THIS FIXED. I HAVE HAD MANY CARS IN MY LIFETIME AND HAD VARYING AMOUNTS OF ITEMS HIT THE WINDSHIELD ON THE FREEWAY AND NEVER HAD A CRACK HAPPEN. I WAS BEHIND A CONSTRUCTION VEHICLE AND HAD A LARGE AMOUNT OF TAR CHUNKS AND ROCKS HIT MY NISSAN ALTIMA. IT HAD SOME CHIPS IN THE WINDSHIELD BUT NEVER CRACKED. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR LESS THAN 3 MONTHS WITH LESS THAN 2000 MILES ON IT AND ALREADY SEVERE CHIPS AND CRACKS IN MY WINDSHIELD? THE GLASS COMPANY THAT WAS USED MUST BE ALLOWING INFERIOR PRODUCTS TO BE SOLD. I WANT TO KNOW HOW I CAN BE COMPENSATED FOR MY TIME AND AGUISH AND HOW YOUR COMPANY CAN FIX THIS ONGOING ISSUE? THE GLASS ON THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY QUALITY ISSUES AS IT HAS NOT SEEN ANY ROAD TIME OR WEAR ALONG WITH SUN DEGRADATION. CAN YOU EXPLAIN WHY THE QUALITY OF THE GLASS IS OF SUCH POOR RESISTANCE? THIS EMAIL THAT I WROTE ABOVE WAS SEND TO SUBARU OF AMERICA

THE CAR WAS NOT USED OVER THE WEEKEND EXCEPT FOR A 5 MILE TRIP TO CHURCH WHERE IT DID NOT ENCOUNTER ANY ROCKS, HITS, ETC. DROVE HOME AND THE CAR WINDSHIELD WAS FIND. THE NEXT MORNING WHEN I GOT INTO THE CAR, AFTER I USED MY REMOTE TO START AND WARM UP MY OUTBACK, THERE WAS ABOUT AN 8-10 INCH CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD THAT ORIGINATED FROM BEYOND THE WINDSHIELD WIPER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. THE CRACK GREW WORSE TO ABOUT 12 INCHES. CALLED SUBARU DEALER WHO DIRECTED ME TO THEIR WINDSHIELD SERVICE AGENT. TOOK TIME OFF FROM WORK AND THEY INSTALLED OEM GLASS (INSURANCE COVERS THIS) AND CALIBRATED THE WINDSHIELD. AFTER DRIVING HOME, THE CAR MADE WIND TUNNEL NOISES, WINDSHIELD FLUID SYSTEM DID NOT WORK, NAVIGATION DID NOT WORK SO I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER (TOOK MORE TIME OFF FROM WORK). THEY FOUND A LEAK IN THE WINDSHIELD, REPAIRED THE FLUID UNIT AND IGNORED THE NAVIGATION ISSUE. THEY SENT ME BACK TO THEIR AGENT. THEY TOOK OUT THE WINDSHIELD REPOSITIONED IT AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. TODAY I FOUND PUDDLES OF WATER ON THE FLOOR OF MY CAR (LEAK), NAVIGATION DOES NOT WORK AND WIND TUNNEL NOISE IS STILL THERE. THIS WINDSHIELD IS SUPPOSED TO PROTECT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER AS EXTRA SUPPORT FOR THE ROOF, PREVENTION OF OBJECTS FLYING AT YOU AND ALLOW FOR THE EYESIGHT SYSTEM TO DO ITS JOB. THIS CAR IS ONE MONTH OLD AND THE CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD EXPERIENCE SOUNDS EERILY SIMILAR TO OTHERS' COMPLAINTS. WHEN YOU PAY THE MONEY FOR A TOP SAFETY PICK, YOU WANT THE SAFETY AND I DO NOT HAVE IT.

WINDSHIELD CRACK APPEARED OVERNIGHT ON THE 4TH DAY OF OWNERSHIP. THE CRACK COVERS 1/2 THE WINDSHIELD AND IS GROWING DAILY. NATURALLY IT CAN'T BE FIXED BECAUSE NO ONE HAS THE WINDSHIELD FOR A 2019 SUBARU OUTBACK IN STOCK OR AVAILABLE BY ORDER. NO VISIBLE CHIP DAMAGE APPARENT. NOTE THERE ARE MULTIPLE CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS AGAINST SUBARU FOR THIS IDENTICAL PROBLEM.

PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2019 SUBARU OUTBACK 3.6R LIMITED WITH EYESIGHT. WITH LESS THAN 23 MILES ON IT, THE WINDSHIELD SPONTANEOUSLY CRACKED JUST SITTING IN THE GARAGE. RESEARCHING THE WEB SHOWS THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH SUBARU OUTBACK.
