The vehicle has start throwing a safety restraint error. We got into the service mode and it shows there is electrical problems with the driver side airbag system and that it may not deploy in the event of an accident. Tesla is delaying the appointment to review this for 12 days. Their app advised to not drive the car due to a safety issue as all safety measures may not work appropriately. Seems to be a safety level recall.
Issue Description GPS freeze: The navigation system remains stuck at one location even when the vehicle is moving. Park Assist not available. FSD not available. Rear camera shows black screen, completely disabling reverse visibility. These issues occur intermittently, often lasting for days, and then resolve themselves unexpectedly. Unfortunately, when scheduling service, the problem often disappears by the appointment date, making diagnosis inconsistent. However, the failures have already occurred more than three times, and each time they severely impact both safety and usability. Safety Concerns Lack of rear camera visibility creates a direct safety hazard during reversing. Disabled Park Assist and FSD compromise Tesla’s advertised safety features. GPS malfunction affects navigation and system reliability.
The horn button is dangerously placed. It is near impossible to activate in an emergency situation and has been worthless when I needed it. Nearly got hit a number of times that could have been avoided if horn was operable in the center button. THERE SHOULD BE A FREE RETROFIT
On Oct 2, 2024 while going to school to pick the kids, when my wife was turning right into a parking lot after slowing, my Tesla Model X plaid car acceralated and went into high speed (plaid mode) hitting a tree at top speed even though brakes were applied. Upon research, this looks like sudden unintended accerelation. The car luckily hit the tree on the passenger side and the front right wheel flew to the back seat and all air bags were deployed. The car was totaled. Miracleously, she had minor external injuries but due to the speed of impact with the tree, she was flung forward and after the CT scan, we found that she had VAD with severe damage to both her neck arteries. She was taken to hospital in an ambulance, had a surgery and still has trauma and medical appointments to fully recover. In Mar 2024, there was always a software problem with My car failing to detect the car was open and hit the garage roof with the falcon wing. On another occasion, the car failed to detect my other car when it was too close to it and I had to apply the brakes although the car was to stop automatically. Tesla refused to treat this as warranty even though the car should not move when doors are open. After 6 months, I ended up fixing the car at a Tesla collision centre. After multiple follow ups via email, chats on tesla app and phone calls post the accident on Oct 2, 2024 with Tesla pleading with them to provide the EDR report and address the issue as warranty and not hearing back, I am logging this so that customers are aware of this dangerous flaw that can be fatal. It looks like Tesla wants to delay the case for long so that they can force the customer to accept a low settlement. I was also planning to buy a cyberbeast but not going to anymore.
I took an exit form the highway on [XXX] towards Bothell. As Soon as I did and ended up coasting towards the first red light, all the warning signs came on on the car and my steering wheel locked up. And my braking also got reduced. Only thing that worked was the Acceleration pedal. I struggled to get the car towards any safety. There was a message on the dashboard saying that assisted steering is reduced will require more power. however it was locked. I tried with all my might to steer the car in any direction but it would not budge. I was super scared I was going to be in an accident. With the limited braking as well I had to find a curb in the road to be able to safely park the car or a slope where the car could slow to a halt. Luckily I was able to do that and slowed down. on a curb like area and then I was able to turn on the parking brake. On contacting support they told me to reset the car and in doing so it should bring back functions. However, it did not. This was extremely dangerous and I was very lucky to get out of this alive without harming anyone else as well. Had this happened on the highway I was a sure goner. They had to finally get the car towed from there. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I just had a forth occurence of the "safety restraint system error" message on my Tesla. I say forth, because the three times previous, I had to go into Tesla to have them "fix" the issue, only for it now, to happen again for the 4th time. I don't think this is a small issue, and you guys need to know about it. Not sure, this is just faulty service teams, or inexperience, or. they are just failing to fix it properly. But given that the messaging has to do with seatbelts and/or air bags, I think this is pretty important.
Placing the turn signal 'buttons' on the steering wheel makes them impossible to use when the wheel is not centered. While driving parking lots and roads with immediate left/right turns and or intersections it is impossible properly signal while driving this vehicle in it's current condition. By not being able to signal, it increases the likelihood of a collision.
While driving on interstate, a semi trailer began merging into my lane. I attempted to hit the horn and no response was produced by the car. The stoke steering wheel does not have a push horn, and requires a button. The hand mash is supposed to work per Elon Musk on X. I was unable to perform potentially impactful sound response to other vehicles. The horn should not be allowed to be a button as emergency situations do not allow a refocus.
While operating my vehicle, it is required to use turn signals to indicate turning intention to other drivers. Even after thousands of miles of use, the 'Capacitive touch' buttons on the steering wheel that Tesla has are unsafe, unusable, and infuriating. These buttons are difficult to locate, difficult to engage with and impossible to use quickly or reliably. Every Tesla without turn signal stalks should be recalled. I often press the wrong button, no button, or just have to simply give up on signaling because it is impossible to safely or reliably use the buttons provided. Turn signal stalks are easier, faster, more reliable, and thus safer. Please help end this nonsense by requiring tesla to fix this. thank you.
The contact owned a 2023 Tesla X. The contact stated that while driving at 25 MPH, the contact became distracted by an incoming phone call and crashed into another vehicle. The air bags deployed upon impact and the contact became locked inside the vehicle. The whereabouts of the other driver were unknown. The police were called to the scene but were unable to assist with the contact's removal from the vehicle. After close to an hour, the contact finally found a latch to unlock the vehicle. The contact sustained a headache as a result of the accident but did not seek medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed from the scene to a Tesla service center. The contact stated that the forward collision avoidance feature failed to operate as needed which should have prevented the accident. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V862000 (Latches/Locks/Linkage; Electrical System). The manufacturer was informed of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was later totaled without the contact's knowledge. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.

The falcon doors (Model X) has sensors that either permit or prohibit safe and prompt exit of the vehicle. Due to the doors being motorized, the rear passenger presses a button to begin to open the doors. In the case where the passenger feels their safety is compromised, or due to a safety hazard where they need to leave the vehicle - both of my doors have been repaired in total, or individually eight times to no resolve. These sensors are intended to detect (using ultrasonic sensors) whether there’s something blocking the door. It will open a quarter of the way, then stop and the passenger must hold the button for several additional seconds in order to further open the doors. Not only is this sensor defect a safety hazard, but also the delay after pressing the button and holding it is increasing the time it takes to safely and promptly exit the vehicle. One final note is that passengers cannot exit the rear doors (Model X) if the vehicle loses power due to not having a physical latch release like the other Tesla models. The right falcon door had this issue prior to taking and upon delivery. The sales person informed me it was common for this issue and blamed it on the interference from nearby vehicles. Even after six or more repairs, the issues continue.
Horn button location is dangerous in eminent accident situations. Instead of a large center push location on the steering wheel the horn is a button which is hard to push and locate in an emergency situation and is a large distraction from watching the road and avoiding the accident.
The contact owns a 2023 Tesla Model X. The contact stated that while attempting to park the vehicle in a parking lot, the vehicle independently accelerated and crashed into a supermarket door without warning. The air bags deployed upon impact. The contact was taken to the hospital for a checkup but did not sustain any injuries; no other injuries were reported. A police report was filed. The supermarket door was damaged as a result of the accident. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it remained in their possession. Recently, the contact received a notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V679000 (Electrical System; Service Brakes, Hydraulics) which was linked to the vehicle failure. The contact called the dealer about the recall and was informed that the part remained on backorder. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100. Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact owned a 2023 Tesla Model X. The contact stated that while driving into her driveway, the vehicle unexpectedly accelerated, and conversely, with the brake pedal depressed to the floorboard, the vehicle failed to come to a complete stop. As a result, the vehicle collided with the rear of another vehicle parked in the driveway, sending the other vehicle careening into the garage. The air bags did deploy. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. The occupants transported themselves to an area hospital for treatment; the contact was treated for a broken hand and two broken ribs, and the passenger was treated for bruising and a sprained ankle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed a total loss. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not assist. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V679000 (Electrical System, Service Brakes, Hydraulic), but the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was 5,000.

Interior rear light constantly blinks spontaneously while driving. There is no control to turn this light on or off. I have scheduled repair with Tesla and they have not fixed the issue. When I drive at light I get distracted by the strob light effect effect of this blinking slight. It’s on land off for no reason whether I’m driving or parked with the car powered off and all doors locked.
The contact owns a 2023 Tesla Model X. The contact stated that the center display had been malfunctioning since purchasing the vehicle new. Additionally, the contact stated that the windows would go up and would go down independently. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that while driving 25-30 MPH, several alarms sounded, and the steering wheel attempted to turn independently, nearly pulling the vehicle out of the lane. The contact stated that the Driving Assist features were turned off at the time of the failure. The vehicle was taken to a Tesla Service Center, who informed the contact that they had reset the operational center system software; however, the contact stated upon operating the vehicle after the service was completed, the music that was playing prior to the service resumed. Additionally, the failure persisted. The contact stated that he believed that the service was not completed properly. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 15.

My vehicle has had a multitude of errors for 5 months now about the safety systems being disabled, seat controls malfunctioning, etc. Tesla refused to repair the car (despite only being months old) because I had requested a buyback due to other electrical issues with the vehicle. The driver facing errors (ones shown on the screen that the driver would see) simply said "Safety systems disabled". I contacted Tesla about this months ago and after they pulled the logs from the car, I was assured it was just a generic error and assured me that the car was safe to drive. Today, I found out how to access "service mode" where I could read ALL of the service alerts. It turns out the vehicle is reporting electrical "resistance too high" errors with the airbags which is clearly a safety issue. These errors go back months and were present when Tesla lied about the vehicle being safe to drive. Could the electrical issues cause the airbags to not deploy in a crash or, worse, deploy when they should not which would likely result in a crash? The errors appear to indicate that as they state "The left seat airbag may not perform as designed" and "The farside airbag may not perform as designed". Meanwhile, it's been nearly 5 months since I requested the buyback from Tesla due to this vehicle not being safe to drive, breaking down repeatedly, etc, and they have STILL not responded to my requests. I am at a loss as to how a car manufacturer can get away with such egregious behavior that puts their customers in danger.
There was not an incident. But the vehicle is not so safe. The driver needs to move eyes from the road for many normal functions like wipers, horn, high beam. In addition, using the phone is dangerous because all the information is displayed on the main screen and requires the driver to look away an select options. This should be displayed in the dash board behind the steering wheel (like it was in prior models)
The contact owns a 2023 Tesla Model X. The contact stated that the vehicle displayed that a software update had been completed; however, the software update showed that the software was outdated. The update confirmation was displayed even though a software update was not performed. The contact stated that the screen displayed distorted images of the lines on the road and the vehicles nearby. The images were also moving around on the screen. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,942.
