DT: THE CONTACT CHANGED THE DISC BRAKES SHOE PADS BECAUSE HIS WIFE WAS COMPLAINED THAT BRAKES FAILED, AND THERE WAS EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. AFTERWARDS , THE CONTACT PARKED IN A PARKING STALL AT HOME. THEN THE CONTACT JUST PULLED OUT OF THE WAY, AND WITH HAND STILL ON THE SHIFT INDICATOR THERE WAS SUDDEN ACCELERATION WITH THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE. THE CONTACT CLAIMED HE DID NOT PLACE THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE BACKWARDS INTO A BRICK WALL. THERE WAS EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE CAR. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN TO A DEALERSHIP. NEIGHBORS HELPED TO PUSH THE VEHICLE BACK INTO THE PARKING SPACE. NO REPAIRS OR CORRECTIONS HAVE BEEN MADE AT THIS TIME. HIS WAS THE FIRST INCIDENT OF THIS TYPE OTHER THAN THE BRAKE PADS. WHEN TRYING TO STOP THE CAR THE BRAKES WOULD HAVE TO BE PUMPED BUT NEVER ACCELERATING BACKWARDS. *AK

THE LIMITED SLIP FEATURE IN THE DIFFERENTIAL CASE ASSEMBLY OF THE TRANSAXLE WAS BREAKING APART RELEASING PIECES OF METAL THAT GOT CAUGHT IN THE GEARING, AS A RESULT THE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING CAUSING THE FRONT WHEELS TO STOP INSTANTANEOUSLY CAUSING THE CAR TO BOUNCE AND SKIP TO A STOP.
