OFF& ON FOR SEVERAL MONTHS, THEN FINALLY STOPPED COMPLETELY.
The steering wheel while taking a right turn locked and wouldn't straighten all lights turned off on the panel all was locked and caused a crash because steering was locked into a turn

I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREE WAY, SUDDENLY MANY LIGHTS CAME ON LIKE ABS, ENGINE CHECK, BRAKE AND MORE. MEANWHILE CLUSTER WENT BRIGHTER AND GAUGES WENT CRAZY. SO I PULLED OVER AND GOT OFF FROM FREE WAY. NOT CAR WENT MORE CRAZY. SPEEDOMETER SHOW ZERO AND BRAKE APPLIES BY ITSELF LIKE EMERGENCY BRAKE. SO I AM PREGNANT AND SCARED . SO I LEFT THE CAR B Y THE STREET AND WENT HOME. IT HAPPENED JUST TODAY IN THE MORNING. I AM LIVING IN ZIP 91367. PLEASE ADVICE AND HELP.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHEN THE KEY WAS REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH, THE ENGINE REMAINED ON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY HAD TO BE PLACED BACK INTO THE IGNITION SWITCH AND TURNED TO THE OFF POSITION. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY WAS VERY LOOSE IN THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. MY COMPLAINT IS ABOUT THE UNSAFE POWER DOOR LOCK MECHANISM USED ON THE 2006 TOYOTA CAMRY XLE (AND COUNTLESS OTHER VEHICLES THEY PRODUCE) I AM NOW ON MY FIFTH FAILURE. EVERY SINGLE POWER DOOR LOCK FAILED AND NOW IT'S STARTING ALL OVER AGAIN! THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD! IF YOU GET INTO A BAD WRECK AND THE POWER DOORS FAIL TO OPEN IT COULD BE A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH. EVERY SECOND COUNTS! DRIVERS WINDOW SWITCH BURNT OUT CAUSING WINDOW MOTOR TO FAIL. TOYOTA IS RECALLING 7.5 MILLION CARS FOR THIS, BUT SAYS THAT MINE IS NOT ONE OF THEM. *TR

MY CAR HAS EXPERIENCED TWO ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITHIN THE PAST 2 YEARS. I OWN A 2006 TOYOTA CAMRY. BOUGHT IN SEPT 2005. DEC 2008 THE BATTERY DIED AND MY LOCAL GARAGE TRACED IT TO THE ALARM- THEY DISCONNECTED THE MODULE. AAA REPLACED THE BATTERY. NOV 15, -2010-, BATTERY DIED AGAIN AND THE CAR WAS TOWED TO MY LOCAL STATION. THEY LOCATED ANOTHER DRAW ON BATTERY BUT COULD NOT REPAIR IT AND SENT IT TO BALISE IN WARWICK RI. I HAD PURCHASED IT THERE.AFTER 2-3 DAYS ON THEIR COMPUTER, THEY LOCATED IT IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IN THE ODOMETER. THE CAR HAS NO SERIOUS RECALLS ON IT AND I NOTE THAT THOUGH 2005, 2007-2010 HAVE BEEN RECALLED THE 2006 HAS NOT. I WISH TO REPORT THIS SO IT IS ON RECORD IN THE EVENT THERE IS A RECALL. THE CAR HAS 25,000 MILES ON IT AND THE REPAIR THIS TIME WILL COST ABOUT $1100. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT A CAR FOR 7 DAYS AS BALISE HAD TO ORDER THE PART LAST FRIDAY NOV. 19TH. IT WILL ARRIVE, HOPEFULLY, MON NOV 22ND.

I HAVE A LATE 2006 TOYOTA CAMRY THAT HAS STANDARD STEREO OPTION WITH CD AND WITH VOLUME AND CHANNEL SELECTION ON THE STEERING WHEEL. I HAVE NOTICED AT LEAST TWO SEPARATE INCIDENTS THE STEREO TURNS ON BY ITSELF. I TYPICALLY DO NOT LISTEN TO THE MUSIC AND KEEP THE RADIO OFF. *TR
2006 TOYOTA CAMRY. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO A VEHICLE FIRE *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED PRIOR TO THE FIRE, THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. HE LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW AND SAW A WOMAN SCREAMING THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. HE IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER, JUMPED OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND THEN IT BURST INTO FLAMES. THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE HAD NOT BEEN DETERMINED. *JB
AFTER STARTING THE CAR THE DRIVERS AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON. WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED AGAIN THE LIGHT MAY NOT BE ON. THIS WENT ON FOR 3 DAYS. THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP HOOKED UP THE CAR TO READ ANY CODES THAT WERE THERE. AFTER 3 DAYS AT THE DEALERSHIP THE FIELD REP STATES THAT A NEW SEAT AND FLOOR WIRING HAS TO BE PURCHASED. THERE IS A SHORT IN THE FLOOR WIRING. TOTAL WILL COST $3450. THE DRIVERS SEAT HAS TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE WIRING. IF NOT REPLACED THE AIRBAG WILL NOT GO OFF. *TR

THIS MAY LEAD TO DRIVING TOO SLOWLY, AND ALSO FALSELY INDICATES A HIGHER MILEAGE THAN TRUE, DEVALUING THE VEHICLE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WILL DECELERATE WHILE DRIVING AND VIBRATE WHEN FIRST TURNED ON. THE DEALER REPLACED THE DASH AFTER KEEPING THE VEHICLE FOR TWO WEEKS. HOWEVER, THE CONTACT DID NOT SEE ANY WORK WAS DONE ON THE VEHICLE. THE NOISE STILL OCCURRED . THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE 4 - 5 TIMES TO THE DEALER WITH NO RESOLUTION SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN JUNE 23 2006. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ONLY GIVING 23 MILES PER GALLON, NO WAY NEAR THE 40 MILES PER GALLON ADVERTISED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30 MILES , AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 10,200 MILES.*AK

I OWN A 2006 TOYOTA CAMRY LE. THE PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE OCCURS ON MORNINGS WHEN THE TEMPERATURE FALLS JUST BELOW 50 DEGREES F. WHEN THE NEEDS ARISES TO USE THE HORN THE SOUND IT MAKES IS AS IF THE HORN IS STICKING AND CAN NOT SOUND T6HE PROPER TONE AND VOLUME OF THE HORN. ONCE THE HORN IS USED AND THIS OCCURS THE HORN WORKS PROPERLY UNTIL THE NEXT MORNING THE TEMPERATURE FALLS BELOW 50 DEGREES F. I HAVE RECORDED THIS OCCURRENCE ON A VOICE RECORDER BUT THE DEALER DOES NOT WANT TO ACCEPT IT AS PROOF. NO REPAIR WORK HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED AS THE DEALER STATES THEY MUST REPLICATE THE ISSUE BEFORE THEY WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE MANAGER STATED TO ME THAT IT IS TOOTSIE POLICY THAT IF WARRANTY WORK IS PERFORMED AND THE PART IS DEEMED NOT DEFECTIVE BY TOYOTA, THE DEALERSHIP MUST ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE COST OF THE REPAIR AND PARTS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE HORN IS NOT FUNCTIONING AT PROPER DB LEVELS THAT IT WAS MANUFACTURED FOR. THIS COULD LEAD TO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF THE HORN DECIDES NOT TO FUNCTION PROPERLY WHEN NEEDED IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. *NM

FORTUNATELY TRAFFIC WAS VERY LIGHT AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE ENGINE RESTARTED WHEN THE IGNITION KEY WAS TURNED. THIS OCCURRED ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS LESS THAN 1500 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. *NM
