I bought my car in October 2009. I did not discover until years later that the pistons for the 2009 Toyota Camry Le did not fit correctly. This caused oil consumption problems, but it did not start happening until a 3-year warranty and at about 60-70 thousand miles. I did not get a notice of recall notice of Toyota's resolution to the problem, because they had the wrong apartment number and email address which I was told by Rep. Sherry and Rose at Toyota Corporation. Rep. said she was sending information to higher up at the corporation instead she sending it to the dealership. I did not get notice of a class action suit/resolution, trotter body, or melting dashboard. I have paid at least $6-7 thousand to dealerships workmanship is bad. I need help!! Because I did not get notices Toyota should fix and compensate me for repairs. Also, they replaced my hold break system because they assumed the shrieking noise was the break. This was done without my permission. I had to replace the axle they replaced less than a year ago. I am frustrated. I can not pay out any more money. My car stopped working on [XXX] I had to have it told to the dealership in Mamaroneck. Rep Sherry told me the trotter body is on recall until 2026, dealership is saying no. APPROXIMATELY 4 MONTHS AGO, MY PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE HAD BROKEN OFF AS MY HUSBAND ATTEMPTED TO GET INTO THE CAR. THAN THE DOOR HANDLE BEHIND THAT CAME OFF WHEN MY CHILD WENT TO OPEN THE DOOR TO GET INTO THE CAR ABOUT A MONTH LATER. FOLLOWING BOTH THOSE INCIDENTS I WAS UNLOADING GROCERIES AND WENT TO OPEN THE REAR DOOR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND THAT HANDLE JUST CAME OFF. THE ONLY HANDLE REMAINING ON THE CAR IS THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. THERE WAS NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY. NO ONE PULLED ON THE HANDLES HARDER TO OPEN THE DOORS. I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW THIS COULD HAPPEN! I HAVE OWNED AND DRIVEN TOYOTAS FOR OVER 20 YEARS, AS WELL AS SEVERAL MEMBERS OF MY FAMILY AND THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED! IN 2014-2015 (ESTIMATED) MY ENTIRE DASH BOARD BECAME STICKY, AS IF I HAD POURED OIL ON IT. TODAY IT RELEASES A THICK STICKY RESIDUE ONTO THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WHEN PARKED IN THE SUN. THIS MAKES THE DASH IMPOSSIBLE TO WIPE... AS TOWELS, SPONGES, EVEN LEAVES, ETC., GET STUCK TO IT (SEE PICS). I TOLD THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE WARRANTY OR RECALL HAD JUST EXPIRED I DON'T REMEMBER WHICH .. ALSO THE HEADLINER ON MY VEHICLE STARTED DROPPING JUST AS FAST AS MY VISORS , THIS IS MY FIRST VEHICLE AND I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED ON HOW IT'S COMING APART.

ONE COLD MORING I GOT IN THE CAR AND REALIZED NO NORMAL DASHBOARD SHOULD LOOK LIKE THAT AND PRESSED IT WITH MY FINGERNAIL AND REALIZED IT WAS SOFT. I TAKE MY CAR IN ON FAIRLY REGULAR BASIS TO A TOYOTA DEALER. WHICH IS WHY I BELIEVE THE SERVICE TECHNICIANS SAW THE PATTERN OF CHANGE AND CHOOSE NOT TO DOCUMENT IT OR SAY ANYTHING AS IT MAY INVOLVE A PROBLEM THAT WOULD NOT INVOLVE PROFIT FOR TOYOTA OR THE DEALERSHIP. THE LETTER I RECEIVED APPEARS TO BE A STALLING TACTIC TO GET CUSTOMERS TO WAIT, NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AND OR SEEK REIMBURSEMENT UTILL IT'S TOO LATE FOR REDRESS. ON MY LAST VISIT I INSISTED THEY MAKE NOTE OF THE PROBLEM DUE TO DANGEROUS GLARE BEING REFLECTED OFF THE DASHBOARD ONTO THE WINDSHIELD. I STATED IT WAS A GRAVE SAFETY ISSUE. THE LETTER STATED THEY NEEDED TO ACQUIRE ENOUH PARTS TO FIX THE CARS AND DO NO CONTACT THE DEALER TO WAIT FOR A NOTICE TO BRING YOUR CAR IN. IF I HAD AN ACCIDENT IT WOULD NOT TAKE OVER SIX MONTHS TO ACQUIRE THE PARTS IF I OR THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS PAYING FOR IT. BELIEVE ME IF CEO'S OF TOYOTA OR THERE LOVED ONES WERE DRIVING WITH THIS PROBLEM THEY WOULD IMMEDIATELY FIX THE PROBLEM, THEY PROBABLY HAVE AND KEPT IT OFF THE RECORD.

I CANNOT LAY ANYTHING ON THE DASH TO REDUCE THE GLARE, BECAUSE THE VINYL WILL ADHERE TO IT AND PEEL AWAY LIKE IT DID WITH THE SUN SHIELD. WHILE IT HAS NOT YET CAUSED AN ACCIDENT FOR ME, I CAN SEE WHERE IT MAY HAVE FOR OTHERS. AS THE CARS AGE FURTHER, MORE OF THE DASH WILL BECOME MELTED. THE TSB 0062-12 STATES THE INCORRECT INSTALLATION OF THE WINDSHIELD/WINDSHIELD MOLDING WAS CAUSING WIND NOISE AND THE REMEDY WAS TO REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD/WINDSHIELD MOLDING. ALTHOUGH THE TSB SPECIFIES WIND NOISE AS A MINOR NUISANCE, THE DEFECT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO AFFECT THE INTEGRITY OF THE WINDSHIELD AS WELL AS OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS DUE TO THE FAULTY MOLDING. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE TO GET MY FAMILY OUT ,....THEN I GOT A BOTTLE OF WATER THAT I HAD ON THE TRUCK...AND USED TO PUT OUT THE FIRE ON THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR...WHEN I PULLED OVER I HIT ONE OF THE SIGN POLE ON THE STREET ..RIGHT FENDER WAS DAMAGE.. AIR COMES IN THRU THE BACK, AROUND THE BACK SEATS. THE DEALERSHIP AT TOYOTA IRVINE, IN ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, CHECKED IT OUT TWICE BUT COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING. THIS DEALERSHIP DIDN'T WANT TO CHECK IT OUT AGAIN. SO WE'RE STUCK WITH THE AIR COMING IN WHEN GOING ABOVE 60 MPH. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT DURING HEAVY RAINS, SHE WOULD OBSERVE LARGE PUDDLES OF WATER IN THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER'S SIDE CARPET. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE CONTACT DROVE OVER A PUDDLE AND INSTALLED FLOOR PANEL BODY PLUGS TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE HE FOUND THAT THE A/C DRAIN WAS CLOGGED WITH POLLEN AND DEBRIS. THE DEALER SERVICED THE VEHICLE ACCORDINGLY YET THE FAILURE RECURRED AT THE NEXT HEAVY RAIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,585 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 46,222.

EVERY WEEK, I USE A COOLER (STANDARD SIZE) FOR GROCERIES AND PUT THE COOLER IN THE TRUNK OF MY CAMRY. WHENEVER I MAKE SHARP TURNS, THE LID OF THE TRUNK WOULD POP OPEN, PROBABLY BECAUSE THE COOLER HITS THE LATCH INSIDE THE TRUNK. I CONSIDER IT QUITE DANGEROUS BECAUSE ITEMS MIGHT FALL OUT OF THE TRUNK IF IT'S OPEN. TO MITIGATE THE PROBLEM, WE PLACE PIECES OF CARDBOARD AROUND THE COOLER TO PREVENT IT FROM SLIDING AROUND. WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE TOYOTA DEALER AND THEY SAID THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THEY HAVE HEARD OF THIS AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT. WE USE COOLERS ALL THE TIME AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH OTHER VEHICLES. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THE ISSUE. THANK YOU. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TOYOTA CAMRY WHICH WAS PURCHASED IN FEBRUARY 2009. HE STATED THAT A PIECE OF METAL WAS HANGING FROM UNDER THE PASSENGER'S SIDE FRONT FRAME, NEAR THE PASSENGER'S SIDE WHEEL. HE ALSO STATED THAT UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE BEGAN IDLING UNCONTROLLABLY AND WITHIN MINUTES IT WOULD SETTLE DOWN AND REPEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE PIECE OF METAL THAT WAS HANGING UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED; YET, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE AGAIN, COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO FILE A LEMON LAW COMPLAINT SINCE THE FAILURE COULD NOT DUPLICATED. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 900 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4400.

2009 TOYOTA CAMRY - INCIDENTS HAPPENED BEFORE CURRENT ACCELERATION HOOPLA. TWICE TO MY WIFE, TWICE TO ME. WHEN QUICKLY APPLYING BRAKE , FOOT TOUCHES GAS PEDAL AND CAR ACCELERATES. NEVER ON ANY OTHER CAR, INCLUDING A 2005 CAMRY HAS THIS HAPPENED. I BELIEVE THAT THE RELATION OF BOTH PEDALS TO EACH OTHER IS TOO CLOSE. ALSO THE DESIGN OF BOTH DOES NOT HELP.
