The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross. The contact stated the vehicle was designed with the Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking. The contact stated that she sustained whiplash. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle and shifting to reverse(R), the alarms sounded, and the vehicle failed to respond because there was another vehicle parked nearby. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where a Toyota field inspector performed a full inspection of the vehicle several months ago; however, the contact had not been informed of the cause of the failure. When I was driving, I stopped at a light, and the engine turned off. Lights, alarms went on and my car would not start. The dashboard read that there was engine failure. The car didn’t respond to pressing the brake, or shifting gears. I had to turn the car off and restart it for it to start working again. Thankfully, I was not on a hill where the car would’ve started rolling forwards or backwards. This had previously happened at another stop light. When we brought the vehicle in for a recall related to the steering column, they mentioned our car is not affected. But there seems to be an issue, and I’m concerned that it will endanger me and my passengers.
It was raining. The adaptive cruise control was engaged. The system did not sense the car in front and keeps moving at set speed. It happen at least three times during the trip. I have to disengage the cruise control or hit the brake to keep the car from hitting the car in front. I looked at the in car cruise control monitor. It did not detected any car in front. Even thought there was a car in front. In my previous car with adaptive cruise control. If weather was preventing the safety system from operating normally. A warning would pop up and disengage the adaptive cruise control. No such warning with the Corolla. The adaptive cruise control seems to be operating normally once the rain has lighten up.

May 14, 2023 (Sunday) It was a rainy day, didn't use my car at all. May 15, (Monday) "The Nightmare Began" !!! I turned on my car and (7) symbols on the dashboard appeared and lots of buzzing that freaked me out ! I was in a state of panic and went inside my house and got my husband and asked him to come take a look at the car cause it was going CRAZY ! We looked at each other trying to figure out what was happening to the car ? This is a list of the symbols on the dashboard: 1. Brake System Light (Yellow) 2. Check Engine Light 3. LDA Indicator Light (Orange) 4. PCS Warning Light (Yellow) 5. Dynamic Radar Cruise Control Indicator Light (Orange) 6. Slip Indicator Light (Yellow) 7. Driving Assist Information Indicator (Yellow). I immediately took pictures of the dashboard for proof that I wasn't make this up. On Tuesday May 16th, I started the car and again the same thing occurred ? This time I drove the car to the dealership and explained to the service guy what the car was doing so he said they would do a diagnostic test on the car? My husband picked up the car on Wednesday, May 17th, he was told that everything was fine with the car but they re-set the computer. Thursday, May 18th, it started all over again when I started the car, Friday, May 19th, Saturday, May 20th the same I drove the car and a message appeared on the screen "Drive-Start Control System". The Crazy thing was that you could drive the car but between 12 and 1 p.m. all the lights would start to go away ? On Monday, May 22nd, it continued, but this time something new happened? I put the car into Drive Mode and the car Jerked and I put it back into Park Mode and it Jerked again so, I put it back into Drive Mode and it Jerked again so I pressed the gas pedal and the Parking Brake was on but I had not put the parking brake on? So, I drove the car and this time the transmission started to act up as well? On, Tuesday, May 23rd and Wednesday, May 24th the same thing so, we took car to dealership
Hi there. Problems occurred in first month from my car purchase. problems are: 1. Engine shutting off while I am stopping at red light. happened two times. 2. blind spot monitor works intermittently. almost get in a deadly accident assuming they are working. 3. automatic breaks failed to work or not working as they are supposed to.
I was driving during the snow storm, my front sensor stopped working because it was covered in snow. That warning popped up on my dash screen and the warning light was on, after about half hour, the front collision warning light also turned on. I had not been able to stop to clean the sensor. I stopped about an hour after the original warning light came on, my start/ stop battery charge came on the dash, and then I got a dash warning that said "steering power low" and "engine stopped" and then "press brake peddle firmly to restart engine" I attempted to start it by pushing down on the brake, that did not work. I had to shift into park, turn the key off and turn the key back on for the engine to restart.
