Vehicle Safety Complaint — 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander My 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander has experienced multiple serious defects, including two official recalls: • 25TA08 — instrument cluster failure • 24TA09 — airbag defect This week, the instrument display failed completely, making it impossible to view speed or system warnings. I’ve been unable to work since then, causing financial hardship for my family. Earlier, I also had to replace the entire drive shaft at my own expense (~$2,500), which is highly unusual for a new vehicle. These repeated issues raise serious concerns about safety and reliability. I’ve submitted a formal complaint to Toyota Brand Engagement Center, and it has been acknowledged and assigned to a Case Manager. The dealer is still searching for a suitable loaner vehicle that meets my work requirements. I was informed by my Toyota dealership and received a written letter from Toyota dated March 25, 2025, that the curtain airbag recall on my 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander had been completed. However, during a scheduled maintenance visit in June 2025, I was told the airbag recall had never actually been performed and was still open. The recall was only completed at that time. I unknowingly drove the vehicle — often with my infant child — for several months, believing the airbag system was safe, based on incorrect information from Toyota. This represents a serious safety concern and a breakdown in Toyota’s recall management. The issue has now been fixed, but I am reporting this because I was misled into driving an unsafe vehicle, putting my family at risk. Toyota’s failure to properly close and track recall repairs should be investigated.

I call the dealer the say they already have remedy but they requested the parts to the manufacturer and they don't know when they will received the order I call the manufacturer they don't know either, Now my car is in the dealer because it was out of oil and is a brand new car, I need help the Toyota and the dealer are not respecting my safety I'm scar to have an accident and my airbags won't works

I received a recall notice on June 21st, 2024 about the airbag on both driver and passenger not being deloy if the vehicle in a crash. It has been 5 months already, but the remedy is still unavailable to fix the issue. I extremely have a concern for my family and my safety when driving the car.
I saw that a recall was posted on my Toyota app. June 28, 2024, I called for recall repair, regular service and second key. I was advised that the recall did not have a remedy, but I needed to bring it in for regular service. Service was scheduled for July 13, 2024. At that appointment, I followed up on the recall. They advised that the recall is open but Toyota did not have a remedy, so just keep monitoring it. I called on November 5th , to check on the recall and a service campaign alert that was issued on my Toyota Application. They said for that I needed to bring it in during the week, we scheduled the recall repair for 11/12/2024. When I picked up my vehicle, I was advised that they had to order the part for the recall. They performed regular maintenance, etc. however, the recall is still open and has not been repaired.
The vehicle airbag is not fixed yet it is almost on year now. Either had to fix or issue new car. even the price come down now lost money due to bad name. when driving suddenly the safety fails and shows error the blind spot. And there is another recall also electrical one they ask us to come fix. How come a car be safe if airbags do not deploy you have to force them fix it please one year is too much it is safety concern.

A safety recall has been placed on this vehicle, but no remedy remains. I haven't even had this vehicle for a year, and I am scared to drive it. I purchased it because I have toddlers and needed the space. I need a solution.
My vehicle is part of the recall for the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander. I have contacted Toyota due to vehicle no longer being considered safe should I be involved in an accident. They advised there is currently no fix for the recall and have no estimated timeframe as to when a fix will become available. I have requested different options to remedy the issue and they are unable to work with me with any reasonable accommodation requests to get me into a safer vehicle until a fix is available. They advised that this is a global recall where millions are affected and they are unable to make accommodations for that many people so we all have to stay put with our current vehicle even though they are shown to be unsafe in accidents. This vehicle was purchased as our family commuter car and we currently have my 4 year old sons dr appts which are 3 hours away that we have to commute to multiple times a week and I do not feel safe traveling with my family in this death trap. Toyotas response to this recall has been less than satisfactory and they are proving to have no concern for the unsafe conditions their consumers are being put in on a daily basis. As a consumer I am paying for a safe and reliable vehicle which I am not receiving, Toyota should be held accountable it should not be the consumers who are left to pay the price possibly with their life. It would be great if the vehicle could be returned or traded for another vehicle if there is no fix available. However, without losing my money as the dealership wants to take it less than 10K even it has been less than 3K miles.

Air bags recall with no resolution. Recall announcement was release in June 19 big safety concern for our family, especially with the cost of the vehicle. We dont trust and won’t feel safe with a airbag replacement

Toyota has issued a STOP SALE and RECALL on the airbags in this vehicle. There is no anticipated time for resolution but rumors indicate it might be October. During this time the airbags would not deploy if you are driving with the front windows down as it affects both driver and passenger side. We bought this car with the expectation of quality and my confidence is not high given Toyota has also issued recalls on engines in the Tundra. I have contacted Toyota Customer Care, a case was created and I was directed to the dealership for any additional action or updates. The dealership has indicated that the warranty administration has not authorized loaners as there would be no reason for me to drive with my windows down. While that might be true this time of year due to extreme heat I may take the car with me to cooler climates and have the windows down. The Lane Keep Assist seems to be aggressive at times trying to get me to "stay" in my lane when I have been driving and maintaining a center position in the lane but feel it pull the steering wheel when it seems unnecessary. I am unclear if this is a defect in the software or cameras or if it could be the result of a sensor with some debris or obstruction over it (i.e. dirty windshield or bug splatter)
There has been a recall impacting the safety of driving this vehicle (air bag related) and the dealer and manufacturer have provided no ETA on when there will be a fix for this or when the vehicle will be safe again to transport our children. In our view we should be refunded in full for this vehicle purchase given the ongoing safety issue resulting in us being unable to drive the vehicle.
I was just recently in an accident where I was T-boned by another driver. My side air bags did not deploy. There is structural damage and my front passenger tire is laid in this this wasn't a light tap on my car.
