Both of the cables on my power doors have snapped now. Turned off switch & have been doing doors manually. The rear passenger side one doesn't like to slide and doesn't open fully.
I just but this car but I think the seller changed the mileage on it.
Rear ac system the line is too close to the rear tire which was replaced once yet it is so close it gets friction and wears a hole in the line . Dangerous for people in the rear that may be inhaling a/c vapor while ac is running with a leak . Also bad for environment. There is no clearance the tire is almost right on the line so when you hit a bump you are rubbing it . Repair man says he has had to repair several lines more than once because of them being placed too close to the rear tire . Date below is third time this happened same vehicle. First was in 2016 second was 2018
Sliding door does not open or close automatically. I think there was a recall for this issue
Passenger slidding door opens while driving . My child was in the back seat & could have been thrown out of the minivan Contacted Toyota recall was fixed Sept 6, 2017. Happened last week again 10/17/23, contacted Toyota and dealership will not do anything customer support program extension ended . This is a Toyota issue should be covered , there was a recall on this issue . Toyota says my responsibility to fix , this is unacceptable, the slidding doors are an issue with Toyota .
My passenger side sliding door began to jerk when closing with power button. The next day the cable completely snapped and it no longer opens at all. My driver side sliding door constantly opens and sometimes does not stay closed. I can hear the lock roll and it automatically unlocks itself. There was previously a recall on these doors completed I'm afraid I still have defective parts.
Left sliding door cable was snapped while tried to open the door itself . I got out of the van then took a close look at door . After saw what happen to door then realized it was cable that got jammed in the door end up ripping the cable . I had to do manual way of opening the sliding door .
The VSC and tract light stay on all the time. The Ford dealer I purchased the Van from said they had it fixed. I took it back and i was told to buy a new gas cap which I did from a Toyota dealer in my area. The light came on again. I took it back and was told it had an exhaust leak and it won't hurt the van. But I could bring it back for starting at $ 200.00 and have a leak test done on the Van, but it would take hours. Since then I've had cleaner run thru the system but the lights stay on all the time. Is this a safety hazard because its an exhaust leak? Can you please assist in the repair information before I spend hundreds of dollars chasing the problem. Thank You so much..... Safety issue: can't open gas door, can't open sliding door Gas door cover on the driver's side will not completely latch (faulty hinge issue? ) which prevents the sliding door from opening. Sliding door has issues in moving back and forth. Apparently there was a recall for this issue and I was never notified. When I researched the issue, I found that there was a recall but because my recall is just out of the 10 year time frame, Toyota states they won't pay for the repair of the faulty mechanism and that I have to pay for it out of pocket. Considering there has been a pandemic for the since March 2020, it's hard to believe that they wouldn't honor the repair when I called about it in December. I made a phone complaint to Toyota at the end of December 2021 and no one has returned my call.
Before June 4, 2020 my Sienna started having intermittent alerts regarding rear hatch alarms: interior lights blinking, dash display alert, & LCD alert. Bumpy roads and turns caused the alerts. I brought the van to a Toyota dealer on 6/4/2020 and the dealer could not reproduce the problem. Since then the alerts became constant, no longer intermittent. I had the 3rd row seats in use I became very concerned that rear hatch could open at any time with potentially a dangerous situation for the grandchildren. I brought the Sienna to another Toyota Dealer for service (11/1/2021)and described the ongoing problem and safety concerns. The Service Agent checked the Sensor Door Recall for the Sienna and informed me that this malfunction was NOT covered under the recall, although it triggers the sensor door alarm. He informed me that there would be a $142 Diagnostic Fee plus parts and labor to correct the problem. I told him that I removed the rear hatch interior panel and disconnected the door lock control so I could drive the car without the alarm distraction. I researched buying the Trunk Lock Actuator (Dorman Part # 931873, Rock Auto Parts $193.82 Tax & shipping) for self replacement. All that was needed was a 10mm socket to remove & replace 3 bolts and reconnect the electric connector and replace the panel. I completed this repair myself in less than 1/2 hour. I feel that this is a SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE and should be included under the sensor recall directive - or a new recall directive - for Sienna 2011-2018 without charge to the owner.
I have complained about both rear sliding doors acting erratically for almost 3 years. These doors were under a recall, as they sometimes were overloaded and would cause the fuse to blow and the door(s) would/could swing open while moving. It happened to me NUMEROUS times. Once it was so bad, that I couldn’t bring my son yo school because the door wouldn’t stay shut. They beep upon auto open and you have to fight the door open or shut no matter if you switch off the “auto door” button or not. It has been to 3 different dealers in less than 3 years. The first dealer only replaced one junction box, and wiring harness on the passenger door because that it the only door that acted up while they were in possession of sienna. The door less than a 1000 miles later started to have issues - opening, closing, staying closed. I brought it to another dealer closer to my new house - they did not fix it as it didn’t do it for them with 10 tries while parked using auto and manual settings. That seems irresponsible and irrelevant as the ongoing customer complaint is the door swinging open whilst driving (neither dealer drove it, to see if it would swing open). Nonetheless, as the drivers side door never acted up at any dealer visit - they never replaced the recalled parts even knowing it has issues and saw video of it that I took. My vehicle is now sitting at a dealer with a $1600 repair bill for the same latch, as well as the back latch for the “recalled” parts - and they are refusing to acknowledge ANY RECALL WVER on the doors (safety recall G-04) as well as Toyota customer care so far is refusing to provide monetary assistance with this ordeal as my extended warrantee expired. One doors “repair” has made the door seemingly worse, and one door has never been repaired in regards to specific recalled parts as dealer states “no issue was seen with power sliding doors”. My niece lost a lot of $70 Birkenstock’s when my door FLUNG OPEN SO FAST at 50mph with no warning (door open light)

VEHICLE STEERING SEEMS TO BE "JERKY." DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS GET NAUSEA AND FEEL LIKE THEY ARE SWAYING AFTER GETTING OUT AFTER TRAVELING AROUND IN VEHICLE. THIS IS WHEN TRAVELING ON CITY STREETS AND ESPECIALLY NOTICEABLE ON HIGHWAYS AT HIGH SPEEDS. MAKES STAYING IN MY LANE DIFFICULT.

FUEL DOOR BEGAN POPPING OPEN. UPON TAKING IT IN TO THE DEALER I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL ON IT THAT HAD EXPIRED IN APRIL. THIS VEHICLE WAS SOLD TO ME AFTER A ELDERLY LADY PASSED AWAY. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN NOVEMBER OF 2019 AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IT HAS NEEDED ANY SERVICE. (THIS IS OBVIOUS TO SEE BY LOOKING AT THE MILEAGE.) I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF ANY RECALL BEFORE OR AFTER BUYING THIS VEHICLE. TOYOTA IS NOW REFUSING TO FIX THE RECALL. YOU CAN TELL BY THE MILEAGE THIS VEHICLE IS IN CLOSE TO NEW CONDITION. HOWEVER, I WAS DISQUALIFIED FROM THE NECESSARY REPAIR BASED ON THE DATE OF FIRST USED: 03/19/2010. I RECEIVED TOYOTA LETTER OF NOTICE TWO DAYS AFTER MY COVERAGE HAS EXPIRED. TOYOTA WON'T HONOR THE REPAIRS TO FIX THE FUEL FILLER DOOR HINGE AND PIN / POWER SLIDING DOOR ISSUES CLAIMING MY COVERAGE HAS EXPIRED WHEN IN FACT THE NOTICE WAS DELAYED AND LATE.

THE UNIT MARKS DOOR OPEN SOMETIMES WHEN DRIVING AND SOMETIMES WHEN THE BRAKES ARE PRESSED DOWN. THE UNIT WAS TAKEN TO AUTHORIZED DEALER BECAUSE THERE WAS A RECALL. THE RECALL STATED THAT THIS ISSUE WAS CAUSED BY THE SLIDING DOOR'S LOCK. THEY VERIFIED THE UNIT AND SAID THE SLIDING DOOR'S LOCK WERE OK, BUT THE ISSUE APPARENTLY WAS ON THE REAR DOOR. THE LOCK ON THE REAR DOOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THAT LOCK. THE REPAIR SHOULD BE PAID ON OUR OWN.

THEY SAID THE DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS; WE HAVE GO BACK TWICE BUT THEY SAY THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THEM. NOW ALMOST 3 MONTHS LATER THEY HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT. WE HAD NOT HAVE ANY ACCIDENT BUT WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE WHEN DRIVING THE CAR.

FUEL DOOR HINGE BROKE BECAUSE THE FUEL DOOR PIN HAS SO MUCH TENSION THAT IT BROKE THE HINGE. THIS CAUSED A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE IF IT IS NOT CLOSED ALL THEY WAY OR PUSHED CLOSED ENOUGH FOR THE SENSOR TO ALLOW THE SLIDING DOOR TO OPEN. THIS EVENT WAS REPORTED PAST THE 36 MONTH WARRANTY, BUT HAD BEGUN BEFORE THE WARRANTY HAD ENDED. CURRENT OWNERS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT IF THERE ARE INSTANCES BEGINNING OF THE DOOR NOT BEING ABLE TO BE OPENED, THIS SHOULD BE AN ITEM COVERED UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY DUE TO THE SAFETY ISSUE OF NOT BEING ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE PARKED AND EXITING THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE OTHER INSTANCES OF THIS ISSUE ON DIFFERENT SIENNA AND TOYOTA FORUMS. TOYOTA SERVICE MANAGER CONFIRMS THAT IT IS EXCESSIVE, BUT ONLY RESOLUTION WOULD BE TO REPLACE CABLE WITH NO GUARANTEE IT WOULDN'T HAVE EXCESSIVE FORCE ALSO. ONLY OTHER RESOLUTION WOULD BE TO HAVE SERVICE BULLETIN ISSUED BY TOYOTA.
TAKATA RECALL. BEEN CALLING DEALER EVERY FEW MONTHS, WAITING FOR THE RECALL TO GET REMEDIED FOR THE AIRBAGS. ALSO, WAITING FOR THE DEALER TO REMEDY THE SLIDING DOOR RECALL. MANY CALLS TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAVE BEEN UNRESOLVED, EVEN WITH THE PROMISE TO BE CALLED BACK.
WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WE HEARD A LOUD NOISE. WE PULLED OVER TO FIND OUR SUN/MOON ROOF HAD BLOWN OUT. WE IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED OUR INSURANCE COMPANY AND TAPED OVER THE HOLE TO AVOID ANY GLASS BLOWING OUT ONTO OTHER DRIVERS AND INSIDE THE VEHICLE. WHEN WE TOOK IT TO TOYOTA DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THEY CHECKED FOR OTHER COMPLAINTS BUT SAID THEY HAD NONE. THIS WAS THE SUMMER OF 2014. EVEN THOUGH THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMED THERE WERE NO ISSUES, WE REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO TOYOTA DIRECTLY AND AFTER A COUPLE OF MESSAGES AND COPIES OF PICTURES THEY DECIDED IT WAS NOT A DEFECT SO WE WERE NOT GOING TO BE REIMBURSED. THE EXPENSE WAS A LITTLE OF $1000 WHICH WE WERE OUT OF POCKET ON AS WE HAD A $1000 DEDUCTIBLE. IN LIGHT OF MORE RECENT NEWS ABOUT THIS BEING A PROBLEM IN MANY VEHICLES INCLUDING TOYOTA VEHICLES WE WANTED TO REPORT IT AS A SAFETY ISSUE. HAD WE NOT HAD THE COVER CLOSED ON THE INSIDE, GLASS WOULD HAVE COME IN ON US. WE WERE JUST THANKFUL THAT NO ONE ON THE HIGHWAY WAS HURT WITH THE WINDOW BLEW OUT. WE BELIEVE THIS ITEM SHOULD BE REVIEWED FOR POSSIBLE RECALL AND REIMBURSEMENT TO OWNERS OF VEHICLES THAT HAVE SUN/MOON ROOFS MADE BY THE MANUFACTURER. MY DAUGHTER HAD TO HOLD THE DOOR SO THAT MY FAMILY COULD GET HOME. IT WAS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE DOOR, SOMEONE COULD HAVE BEEN HURT. WE SENT THE INVOICE WITH THE REPAIR FOR THE RECALL, WE HAVE WAITED FOR ALMOST 9 WEEKS, AND MANY CALLS TO THE COMPANY, AND FOR THE MOST PART MYSELF AND MY WIFE HAD TO DO THE LEG WORK TO GET THIS GOING BY THE COMPANY. THIS HAS BEEN A FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE, FOR ONE THE SAFETY ISSUE FOR MY FAMILY, CONSIDERING THE RECALL WAS OVER 1 YEAR ON THIS VAN IS PRETTY RIDICULOUS. AND GETTING INFORMATION ABOUT MY CASE HAS BEEN FRUSTRATING. IT SEEMS LIKE TOYOTA DID NOT WANT TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ISSUES WITH THE REIMBURSEMENT, ISSUES WITH COMMUNICATIONS WITH THIS, IT HAS BEEN A FRUSTRATING SITUATION. NHTSA RECALL ID: 11V560 I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A RECALL FOR SOME SORT OF STICKER ON MY VEHICLE. MY TOYOTA DEALERSHIP SAID THEY WERE UNABLE TO GET THE STICKER AND I HAD TO CALL TOYOTA DIRECTLY. I JUST GOT OFF OF A 25 MINUTE PHONE CONVERSATION WITH TOYOTA AND THE RESULT WAS THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHY THE DEALERSHIP COULDN'T HANDLE IT AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP. I ASKED THAT THE STICKER JUST BE SENT TO ME IF IT WAS JUST A STICKER AND I WAS UNABLE TO WAIT ON HOLD ANY LONGER. TOYOTA SAID THEY COULD NOT CONTINUE TO HELP ME UNLESS I STAYED ON HOLD WHILE THEY TALKED TO THE DEALERSHIP. I UNDERSTAND IT IS "JUST A STICKER" AS BOTH TOYOTA AND THE DEALERSHIP HAS INFORMED ME. HOWEVER, I WANT THE RECALL CLEARED FROM MY VEHICLE. I AM SEEKING ASSISTANCE IN GETTING THE STICKER SENT TO ME AS REQUIRED. SEEMS LIKE IT IS A SIMPLE TRANSACTION, BUT TOYOTA IS NOT MAKING IT SO. MOTOR ON SLIDING DOORS HAVE NOT WORKED PROPERLY SINCE WE FIRST PURCHASED IT BRAND NEW. WE WERE TOLD THEY "STICK" BECAUSE THE RUBBER SEALS ARE SO NEW. THE DOORS ONLY OPEN PART OF THE TIME. 50% OF THE TIME WHEN YOU OPEN THEM, THEY BEEP LOUDLY AND GET STUCK, JUST LIKE DAY ONE. TOYOTA CONTINUES TO CLAIM THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT AND ANYTIME WE'VE MENTIONED IT, THEY SAY THEY FOUND NO PROBLEMS. IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE THEY GET JAMMED AND CAN ONLY BE YANKED OPEN MANUALLY. A CHILD COULD NOT OPEN IT IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY WHERE THEY NEED TO MAKE A QUICK ESCAPE. THE SEAL ON THE WINDOW IS ALSO BROKEN AND PULLS DOWN WHEN YOU OPEN THE WINDOW . THE SEAL PULLS DOWN WITH IT. THIS HAPPENED TO OUR BRAND-NEW TOYOTA CAMRY, AS WELL AS MY MOTHER'S BRAND NEW TOYOTA FJ CRUISER. TOYOTA HAS CHECKED IT OUT AND THEY CLAIMED IT'S WEAR AND TEAR. THEY REPLACED IT FOR FREE THE FIRST TIME, BUT LESS THAN A YEAR LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN! NOW I SEE A RECALL ON DOORS, THIS NEEDS TO B ADDRESSED, THAT RECALL IS NOT BEING HANDLED YET EITHER . AGAIN, IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD FOR CHILDREN GETTING OUT, OR DOORS FLYING OPEN WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.

I CONTACTED THEM 6-8 MONTHS AGO WHEN I RECEIVED THE FIRST NOTICE. THEY SAID THEY WOULD ORDER PARTS AND BE IN CONTACT WITH ME. I RECENTLY RECEIVED A SECOND NOTICE CONCERNING THE SPARE TIRE CARRIER CABLE. I'M FRUSTRATED WITH THEIR LACK OF RESPONSE AS THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE HAD AN ISSUE WITH THIS DEALERSHIP. THE POWER DRIVERS SEAT DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY AND THEY WERE GOING TO ORDER PARTS FOR IT. WHEN I CALLED ABOUT THE SPARE TIRE I ASKED ABOUT THE SEAT AND SHE HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT.

MY VAN CAME EQUIPPED WITH BRIDGESTONE P235/55RF18 TIRES. I HAD TO REPLACE THEM AT 26,000 MILES. THE EDGES WERE ALMOST WORN THROUGH. I NEVER HAD A RADIAL TIRE GO BAD WITH THAT LOW MILEAGE. BRIDGESTONE AND FIRESTONE OFFERED NO HELP. ON LINE LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE UNHAPPY. BRIDGESTONE SAID THEY WERE MADE TO FACTORY SPECS. THE LOCAL FIRESTONE DEALER TOLD WE THEY WERE NOT GOOD TIES. I REPLACED THEM WITH SAME TIRE. NO SPARE WITHOUT A RUN FLAT IS A SAFETY IS I COULD NOT FIND ANOTHER RUN FLAT TO FIT. THE VAN DOES NOT HAVE A SPARE.

I'M CONTACTING YOU TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE INTERIM RECALL REPAIR PERFORMED BY TOYOTA, RECALL 14V-273. I HAD THE INTERIM REPAIR PERFORMED IN THE SUMMER OF 2014 WHICH INVOLVED PUTTING THE SPARE TIRE INTO THE CARGO AREA IN THE BACK OF THE VAN AND SECURING IT WITH A TIE DOWN. I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FOLD MY SEATS BACK INTO THE CARGO AREA WHEN I NEEDED TO AND HAVE A LARGE PORTION OF THE CARGO AREA OCCUPIED BY THE SPARE TIRE AND TIE DOWN. FOR A SHORT TIME I COULD LIVE WITH THIS. BUT THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED ALMOST ONE YEAR AGO. I CONTACTED TOYOTA TODAY AND THE REPRESENTATIVE STATED A FINAL REPAIR SHOULD BE AVAILABLE IN MID 2015. I WOULD LIKE THE FINAL FIX PERFORMED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. IT IS UNREASONABLE TO HAVE THIS LENGTHY DELAY BETWEEN PERFORMING THE INTERIM REPAIR AND THE FINAL REPAIR. CAN YOU PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS MATTER AND URGE TOYOTA TO PROMPTLY ISSUE THE FINAL REPAIR?

MACBOOK DID NOT COMPLETELY CLEAR THE DOORS PATH COMPLETELY AND DOOR BEGAN CRUSHING IT. I COULD HEAR SOMETHING WASN'T RIGHT AND SAW THE DOOR BEND THE LAPTOP AND PARK IN THE FULLY OPEN POSITION. YOU COULD CLEARLY SEE AND HEAR THE DOOR HAD MET AN OBSTACLE AND WAS STRUGGLING, BUT JUST PRESSED THROUGH IT. DOOR MADE NO ATTEMPT TO STOP OR REVERSE. THE MACBOOK WAS DAMAGED. THE WHOLE MACHINE WAS BENT BY THE DOOR AND I CAN NO LONGER FIT A CD IN THE OPTICAL SLOT BECAUSE IT IS NOW CURVED RATHER THAN FLAT. THESE DOORS ARE STRONG ENOUGH BE BEND METAL! THE "ANTI-JAM" SYSTEM FAILED. AFTER SEEING THAT, I REALLY THINK THAT THESE DOORS HAVE TO CAPABILITY TO SERIOUSLY INURE SOMEONE.
IN MAY OF 2011 I PURCHASED A TOYOTA SIENNA 8 PASSENGER THAT HAS BEEN RECLASSIFIED IN NOV 2011 FROM 1550 LB CARGO AND PASSENGER CAPACITY.TO 1325 THAT RENDERS IT NON COMPATIBLE, FOR WHICH I HAD BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FOR.
