Recall 25TA12 for a 2025 Sienna Van second rows seats rail welds is not being handled in a timely manner by Toyota. I received a notice on Oct 5, 2025 about this recall and 90 days later there still isn’t a remedy by Toyota. This is unacceptable as Toyota put the owners on notice by saying not to use the second row seats as injuries may happen due to improperly welded seat rails. Toyota needs to step up and get this recall completed now.

My vehicle is subject to a safety recall issued on October 7 for improperly welded second-row seat rails. Toyota has stated that if these seats are occupied during certain high-speed collisions, they may lose structural integrity, increasing the risk of injury. Because these seats are required to safely transport my young children, the recall renders the vehicle unsafe and unusable for its intended purpose. It has now been over three months since the recall was issued, and Toyota has not provided a remedy. The dealership has no information regarding when repairs will be available, and our vehicle is currently being held at the dealership. Toyota has provided a rental vehicle; however, this does not resolve the issue. The rental is not the same vehicle we purchased, does not meet our family’s needs, and requires frequent renewals, creating an ongoing burden. We purchased this vehicle specifically to meet our transportation needs and remain unable to use it. The vehicle was only six months old at the time of the recall. We requested a replacement vehicle due to the seriousness of the safety defect and the lack of a repair timeline, but Toyota denied this request and has offered no long-term solution. I am filing this complaint due to the unreasonable delay, loss of use, and lack of a permanent remedy for a serious safety defect involving child passenger seating.
I purchased this vehicle on March 8, 2025. On October 7, 2025, I was notified of Safety Recall 25TA12 involving the second-row seats. Due to this safety defect, the second row cannot be used, rendering the vehicle unsafe and impractical for its intended purpose. This vehicle was purchased specifically to transport my family of five, including three children (currently ages [XXX] , [XXX] , and [XXX] ), all of whom require car seats. It is not physically possible to safely install three car seats in the third row of this vehicle, particularly an infant seat. As a result, I cannot safely transport my children and the vehicle cannot be used as a family vehicle. As of January 5, 2026, more than 90 days have passed since I was notified of the recall, and I have been informed that there is still no available remedy or repair timeline. During this period, I continue to make monthly payments of approximately $1,000 on a vehicle that does not meet basic safety and usability expectations. No adequate resolution or interim accommodation has been provided. Owning a family vehicle with a known safety defect and failing to provide a remedy for over 90 days is not acceptable business practice. The vehicle cannot fulfill the purpose for which it was purchased, and the ongoing financial obligation without a resolution is unreasonable. I am requesting either a buyback of the vehicle, including associated costs, or a replacement vehicle of comparable value. This issue has persisted for an excessive period of time without resolution and requires immediate corrective action. Manufacturer Recall Number: 25TB12 NHTSA Recall Number: 25V668 This recall was created almost three months, but we were not notified of it until receiving a letter a few weeks ago. That means we were putting our children in unsafe seats for two months! Why is the manufacturer allowed to wait so long to contact us about such a serious safety issue? Furthermore, why aren't they required to pay for us to rent comparable vehicles until they are able to fix the issue? Not being able to use the middle row of seats completely nullifies the utility of owning a minivan in the first place. What avenues are available to me for seeking recompense in this case?
The contact owns a 2025 Toyota Sienna. The contact received a notification letter related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V668000 (Seats). The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts were not yet available for the recall repair. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer provided a loaner vehicle that did not meet the needs of the contact. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact had not experienced a failure.
I am writing to formally document Toyota's failure to provide a reasonable and lawful solution following the safety recall and was advised by my attorney that Toyota does not yet have a remedy available. Despite this, Toyota has offered only a $42/day reimbursement for a compact rental vehicle, which is wholly inadequate and functionally useless for my family. Toyota is effectively forcing us to choose between: Operating an unsafe vehicle with my children and unborn child Paying hundreds to thousands of dollars out of pocket for appropriate transportation This is not a reasonable or lawful position. I also want to make clear that I am currently pregnant and due in April. The uncertainty surrounding this recall, the lack of a safe and appropriate vehicle, and the absence of a clear resolution timeline have caused significant and ongoing stress for me and my family during a medically sensitive time. Reliable and safe transportation is not optional for us - it is essential for prenatal care, medical appointments, and daily needs for our children. Being told that there is no timeline for a repair, while simultaneously being offered only an inadequate compact rental vehicle, places an unreasonable burden on our family and creates unnecessary anxiety during my pregnancy.
My 2025 Toyota Sienna is subject to Safety Recall 25TA12 involving suspect welds on second row seat rails. Toyota instructs that the second row seats not be used while the vehicle is in motion. No repair is available and no timeline has been provided. Toyota has not provided a viable interim solution. Toyota coordinated outreach to multiple dealerships, all of which confirmed they cannot provide a comparable vehicle or accommodation. Toyota’s only option is limited rental reimbursement, which does not restore equivalent seating capacity or function. As a result, I am forced to either stop using the vehicle for its intended purpose or continue operating a vehicle Toyota has identified as unsafe to use as designed. Toyota has acknowledged the defect but has not mitigated the safety risk.
Toyota is completely unwilling to provide a rental vehicle unless I leave the recalled Toyota sienna on their lot for an indefinite period. They are not willing to let me perform any kind of maintenance while it is in their care and I am not allowed to keep the vehicle in my home to Provide proper storage. The dealer is not willing to provide any sort of maintenance or care as well. When escalating this to toyota corporate, they didn’t even dignify me with a response. They simply just closed the report and are refusing to provide me with any form of written denial.
I am submitting this complaint regarding Safety Recall 25TA12 (Interim Notice 25TB12) for my 2025 Toyota Sienna XLE Woodland Edition, VIN available upon request. Toyota has acknowledged that the second-row seat rails may have improper weld penetration, creating a risk that the seats may lose structural integrity in certain high-speed collisions, increasing the risk of injury. Toyota has issued written instructions advising that no one should sit in or use a child restraint in any second-row seat while the vehicle is in motion, and has also issued a stop sale, indicating Toyota’s determination that the vehicle should not be sold or delivered in its current condition. There is no repair remedy available, no parts, and no estimated timeline for correction. Because this vehicle is used to transport four young children in car seats, Toyota’s instructions render the vehicle unsafe and unusable for its intended purpose. I have complied with Toyota’s guidance and removed the vehicle from service. The vehicle has been out of service continuously since October 8, 2025 through today, December 30, 2025, totaling 84 calendar days and 60 business days with no repair attempt possible due to Toyota’s inability to provide a remedy. Toyota has stated that a loaner vehicle substitutes for safe seating; however, loaners do not correct the underlying defect, do not restore the vehicle’s certified safety condition, and do not eliminate the ongoing risk or loss of use of the purchased vehicle. Toyota continues to sell similarly equipped vehicles while leaving affected owners without a path to repair. I am requesting NHTSA review whether Toyota’s handling of this recall—including extended delays with no remedy, reliance on stop-use instructions, and indefinite loss of safe use—meets federal safety obligations and adequately protects consumers and child passengers.
The seats have had an excessive rattling noise since buying the car, dealer was informed and was told that it was expected. Now there has been a safety recall with no remedy in sight for over two months. Not being able to use the middle seats on a brand new car for this long is unnacceptable.
The 2nd row seats have failed to provide a knowing safe place for passengers to ride. Toyota has known about this issue since October 7, 2025 (81 days) and there is no remedy. I cannot drive my brand new van due to the safety issue (the possibility of the seats become detached in collisions) as I use my car to transport toddler family member and need to utilize the 2nd row seat; due to mobility issues I cannot place the toddler in the 3rd row seat. Toyota has been able to fix the issue to continue to make and sell 2026 7 passenger vehicles in my area as confirmed by local dealers. The problem has been acknowledge by my local Toyota dealer, as well as Toyota USA. My van has not been inspected by anyone. I had no problems with my van prior to the notification of this recall.
On [XXX], I purchased a new Toyota Sienna 2025 from Toyota Pasadena. The car has had frequent “check rear seat” and “check 3rd row seat” alerts everyday I drive. I have contacted Toyota Motors a few times since May, 2025, and visited Toyota Pasadena countless times to solve this error since April, 2025. After their “alarm specialist” checked my vehicle, they started to intentionally ignore my repair request. It seems Toyota knows the problem but couldn’t fix it in an easy and cheap way. Toyota Pasadena always insisted on me seeing their alarm specialist OFF THE RECORD, rather than accepting my vehicle for repair, so they can avoid Lemon Law punishment. When I contacted Toyota Motor a few times, they always pushed me back to Toyota Pasadena and ignored my request to have other dealers’ or the engineers fix my Sienna. I have been trapped in this endless fraud loop wasting time for a year. I have a [XXX] daughter. With this error not being fixed, I can’t risk putting my daughter and her seat on the rear seat. I was forced to buy another SUV, which created significant financial stress along with the stress of being pushed away between Toyota Motor and Toyota Pasadena over and over again. The bottomline is I need to make sure the rear seat is safe because my family’s lives are on the line. They shouldn’t intentionally hide the safety issue and forced me to accept the risk. It’s a new car in the original condition that Toyota Pasadena handed me. Everything on this vehicle was installed by Toyota Motor and Toyota Pasadena before it was handed to me. I already requested that if it's alarm bugs they cannot fix, they can remove the faulty alarm with a refund. I only want a safe vehicle. But they rejected me. The vehicle still makes random alarms and shows the “check rear seat” today and everyday. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The second-row seats in my 2025 Toyota Sienna are completely unusable due to an open safety recall (25V668). We purchased this minivan for our family of four children, and the second row is essential for safely transporting them. It has been several months since the recall was announced in October, and we are still unable to use these seats. The inability to use the second row affects our family’s safety and daily logistics, forcing us to rely solely on the third row, which is unsafe or impractical for our children. We have not had a crash, fire, injury, or police report, but this recall significantly limits the safe use of our vehicle.
The contact owns a 2025 Toyota Sienna. The contact had received a recall letter from the manufacturer for NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V668000 (Seats). The contact called the local dealer and was informed that the remedy was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
There has been a recall on my vehicle since October 7, 2025. Toyota has just sent me notification via mail the week of December 20, 2025. I drive 4 children and two of them are in the middle row (which is what the recall is about) in car seats. I have called the dealership many times and they are not doing anything to assist me. According to the recall, it states to not sit or use a child restraint in the second-row seats while the vehicle is moving until the remedy is performed---- the remedy isn't even available yet and hasn't been since October. So am I just not supposed to drive my kids to school and daycare?
I have 2 babies that HAVE to sit in the 2nd row! I need the Remedy fixed ASAP!!!

My vehicle is subject to an active safety recall involving the second-row seat rail welds. According to the manufacturer’s official recall notice, the remedy is not yet available and there are current usage restrictions advising that no occupants should sit in the second-row seats and that no child restraints should be used in those seats until the repair is completed. This condition creates a safety risk because the second-row seating positions cannot be safely used, which limits passenger seating and prevents proper use of child safety seats. The manufacturer has confirmed that the recall remains in interim status and that no repair or alternative remedy is currently available. The issue has been confirmed by the manufacturer through an official safety recall. No warning lamps or messages appeared prior to this issue, as it was identified through the recall process rather than a vehicle malfunction during operation.
There is a recall from October 5 2025 regarding second row seats that are mounted on seat rails that may have been improperly welded. They recommend not to have anyone sit in that row or use child restraints. How is there no remedy at this time?? Who can have their passengers sit in the third row and avoid sitting at the second row. This is negligence from Toyota and should have a remedy right away. We bought this car in March 2025 and have been driving our two boys around for several months until being notified of this recall! How can you expect someone not to use the second row seats for months without an answer particularly a minivan.
Vehicle: 2025 Toyota Sienna Issue Type: Safety Recall / Inadequate Manufacturer Remedy Location: California Complaint: Toyota has issued a safety recall for my 2025 Toyota Sienna due to improperly welded second-row seat rails. Toyota and the dealership have instructed us not to use the second-row seats because of potential safety risks in a crash. At this time, Toyota has no remediation or repair timeline, making the vehicle unsafe and unusable for its intended purpose as a family minivan. Toyota is offering a rental reimbursement cap of $42 per day, which in California only covers a compact or small sedan. This does not provide a comparable or safe alternative vehicle for a family that requires second-row seating. As a result, we are unable to safely transport our family while Toyota delays a repair. Dealerships in our area do not have loaner vehicles and rely on third-party rental agencies (Enterprise). Toyota has stated they will not cover the cost of a vehicle comparable in size or seating capacity, placing the financial burden on the consumer despite the vehicle being subject to a safety recall. This situation effectively leaves us without a safe vehicle, despite owning a new car under warranty, due to: •A known safety defect •Explicit guidance not to use key seating •No available repair •Inadequate manufacturer accommodation I am requesting NHTSA review Toyota’s handling of this recall, including whether the rental accommodation offered meets reasonable safety and usability expectations for affected families.
Second row seats are recalled in Sienna because of faulty welds on rails. Both the dealership and Toyota Brand Engagement Center have not been able to help us. It had been 2.5 months and there is no fix. Why is Toyota putting their manufacturing mistakes on their customers? The car is essentially not functional because we need the second row to fully fit our family in the car. Toyota mailed a recall notice for the first time and it was received yesterday (2.5 months post recall). Toyota should have mailed this notice as soon as the recall was issued.
Toyota has issued a recall 25V-668 that affects the second row seat rails and suspect welding of them. The defect involves the seat rail assemblies, which may not be properly welded and could allow the second-row seats to detach or move unexpectedly, particularly during a crash or sudden stop. This presents a safety risk to vehicle occupants. Toyota has recommended no one sit in or use a child restraint in the second-row seats while the vehicle is moving until the remedy is performed on the vehicle.
My 2025 Toyota Sienna is subject to Safety Recall 25TA12 for improperly welded second-row seat rails that may fail and provide inadequate occupant protection in a crash. This is a serious safety defect involving the seats used by my children. The recall was issued on October 7, 2025. More than 60 days have passed and Toyota has not provided an available remedy or repair. Multiple dealerships have confirmed that no parts or repair procedure are available. Toyota Corporate initially stated they would locate or authorize a temporary replacement vehicle within 24 hours but failed to follow up. I was later told Toyota Corporate cannot provide or reimburse alternative transportation, leaving me without a safe way to transport my children. The vehicle cannot be safely used as intended while the recall remains open, and the manufacturer has not provided a remedy or safe accommodation. I am submitting this complaint due to the unreasonable delay in providing a safety recall fix and lack of transportation alternatives.
Toyota issued a safety recall on my Toyota Sienna advising not to use the middle-row seats due to weld failures in high-speed crashes. Toyota has no repair remedy, no loaner vehicles, no rental assistance, and no replacement option. I have young children and cannot safely use the vehicle for its intended purpose. Toyota is leaving families without safe transportation.

Received recall notice on our van in Oct 2025. The recall recommends that no one sit in or use a child restraint in the second row seats. This is not possible for my family. I have 3 children in car seats and the 3rd row does not fit all 3 car seats across. The reason I purchased my van was for the 3rd row accessibility. The recall went out in October and it is now December 2025 and there is still no remedy. 3 months on an important safety recall with no remedy is unacceptable.
See recall above. We just spent $55,000 on this vehicle in order to safely transport and travel with our two year old and newborn. The fact that Toyota does not have a remedy available for this major issue is completely unacceptable. The recall notice states that our only current "remedy" is to not use the second row seats, which is not feasible since child safety seats only safely install in the second row. This so called "remedy" is absolutely unreasonable, illogical and irrational. It essentially renders our $55,000 vehicle unusable, which constitutes a significant financial loss for my family. I am making a loss of use claim - Toyota's response that it does not have a remedy available now for such a significant safety problem is outrageous.
UNKNOWN Dear Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. Consumer Affairs Department: I am writing to formally demand a full buyback and refund for the above-referenced 2025 Toyota Sienna (the "Vehicle") under the Arkansas New Motor Vehicle Quality Assurance Act (the "Arkansas Lemon Law"), Ark. Code Ann. §§ 4-90-401 et seq. The Vehicle is subject to a critical safety recall (25TA12, with interim notice 25TB12) involving improperly welded second-row seat rails, which poses a substantial risk to the safety of myself, my passengers, and others on the road. As of the date of this letter, Toyota has issued no remedy for this defect and provided no estimated timeframe for when a repair will become available. This renders the Vehicle unusable for its intended business purpose and out of service indefinitely, in violation of the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, as well as the express warranties provided with the Vehicle. Background and Defect: I purchased the vehicle on [XXX], new from Landers Toyota NWA, Rogers AR for $49,058. The Vehicle has been registered and primarily used in Arkansas since acquisition. On or about October 7, 2025, Toyota issued Recall 25TA12, notifying owners that the second-row seats in certain 2025 Sienna models, including my VIN , are mounted on seat rails that may have been improperly welded. This defect could cause the seats to detach during a crash, increasing the risk of injury or death. An interim notice (25TB12) followed, confirming the issue but explicitly stating that no repair remedy is currently available and no loaner vehicles or temporary fixes are being provided. Since receiving notice of the recall, the Vehicle has been effectively out of service for safe operation. I cannot, in good conscience, use this vehicle with a known safety defect that compromises occupant protection in the event of an accident. Toyota has failed to provide any repair, temporary solution, or estimated completion date, leaving me without a functional vehicle for commercial pu
NHTSA Recall # 25V-668 Toyota Recall # 25TA12 (Interim Notice: 25TB12) This is a major recall since October and Toyota is just trying to waste time and making it sound like a minor issue instead of providing an immediate solution. Not having second-row seats welded properly is a MAJOR safety issue! Unfortunately, my brand new vehicle, bought in June, is involved in this MAJOR recall and Toyota is still forcing me to drive it with the defect. It has been almost 3 months since the recall and still no solution from Toyota. Since there is still no solution, Toyota should buy-back all affected vehicles and provide with the same make and model vehicle but without any issue, give chance to the owners to upgrade, or give the full money back to the owners.
Hi, I received a letter about a recall (NHTSA recall no. 25V-668 / Toyota recall no. 25TA12). Toyota currently does not have a remedy for this situation. I believe that this is unacceptable because my vehicle is currently being used as a for hire vehicle with a wheel chair ramp Modification in new york city. Without being able to use the 2nd row seats it would not make sense to use it as a taxi. I called Toyota’s helpline (888-270-9371) and the representative informed me that they have no estimated date of when a remedy would be available. I believe that in the interest of passenger’s safety, there should atleast be an inspection program in order to verify if a problem exists. The intention of this claim is to inform that a remedy has not been provided in a timely manner. I am hoping that a remedy is provided asap. NHTSA Recall 25V-668, Toyota 25TA12. They state: “Toyota recommends no one sit in or use a child restraint in the second row seats while the vehicle is moving until the remedy is performed on the vehicle” They haven’t provided a remedy. I have two children requiring car seats Second row is prohibited per their directive Third row is operationally impossible for [XXX] infant: monitoring breathing, choking, and emergency access requires full vehicle exit and side door access. Front seat is prohibited (no manual airbag cutoff, automatic system won’t deactivate for infant weight) Vehicle has zero compliant seating positions. Toyota has not provided a safe path forward. We were notified by Toyota that the second row seat rails had incomplete welds. Toyota recommended no one ride in the second row, and no child car seats should be installed in the second row. This greatly impacts the use and safety of the vehicle for our family of five. Additionally, the value of the vehicle has been impacted. Dealerships are not willing to give fair value for a trade-in because they know the vehicle will sit on their lot for an unknown amount of time before the repair is available. At this time (now 60+ days since the recall was announced), Toyota has not released the remedy and there is no timeline for the completion of these repairs.

There has been an active recall notice since Oct 7 about the rear seats not being properly welded. There is still no updated information about when a remedy will be available.
It has been over 60 days since the recall was announced. There is currently no repair available and no estimate of when a repair will be available. I have been notified of the recall through the Toyota app, but have received nothing in the mail. Totoya representatives confirmed that my vehicle is affected. The welding on the middle seats may be compromised, making the middle seats unusable. This is greatly affecting not only the safety of the vehicle, but its use as well, since it is in essence now only a 5 passenger vehicle. I requested a buy-back on my two month old car from Toyota but the claim was denied.

Driver side passenger 2 nd row seat belt stopped working. Won't clip as needed leaving us unable to use seat. This is a safety issue as we are not able to use the seat as needed as one is not able to strap in. This triggers the sensor and this a driving violation. Problem has been reported. Vehicle has been reported and still pending to be replaced. Unkown when issue can be resolved. Passenger seat on the second row was stuck upon purchase. Dealer made aware. they claimed a sock was stuck on railing which was not possible as issue was reported before they could schedule for vehicle to be inspected. Such sock did not exist when incident was reported. Sock was not purchased until day before taking vehicle to schedule appointment. Tension is still there but agency said it is working properly.
The seats in the car squeak and shake when passengers are not in them.
I have a 2025 toyota sienna and the 3rd row seats is not locking when in the fold down position. While driving the 3rd row seats go from the stowed position into the seating position making loud noise.
The drivers mirror shakes every bump you hit so everything looks blury going above 30mph. This is a huge safety concern as you can't see cars clearly in the mirror. One of the second row seats also shakes considerably. I have brought it to the dealer multiple times and they will not fix it.
Headed seat barely warm
