The frame is rusted and I don't feel safe driving it at highway speeds. The electrical system The horn, air bags and radio don't work. Toyota said they had a program to repair the frame but they no longer honor it

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 TOYOTA TACOMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE VEHICLE SAT FOR A WEEK WITHOUT BEING DRIVEN IT BURST INTO FLAMES WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED IN THE FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ADVISED THAT THE FIRE WAS CAUSED BY AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED IN REGARDS TO THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 200,000.

DT: WITHOUT WARNING AND AT ANYTIME THE AIR BAG LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF, AND THE HORN BLOWS OUT ON ITS OWN. HE HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY BECAUSE OF THE HORN. DEALER SAID THEY WOULD CHARGE THE CALLER FOR LOOKING FOR THE PROBLEM. MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. *AK

THE WIRE HARNESS STOPPED WORKING , POWER TO THE TRAILER WAS OFF. RECALL 01E041000 TRAILER TOWING WIRE HARNESS. DEALERSHIP WAS AWARE OF PROBLEM. CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED AT THIS POINT BECAUSE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT WARRANTY FOR RECALL. ALSO IT WAS AN AFTER MARKET PRODUCT. *AK

SPORT CITY TOYOTA WOULD NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE ON TRADE UNTIL AFTER A LETTER FROM GULF STATE TOYOTA DECLARED THERE WAS NO FIRE. DETERMINATION WAS MADE BY TEIR INSPECTOR. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT SPORT CITY WAS AWARE OF THE FIRE. SPORT CITY WOULD NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE ON TRADE DUE TO CONCERNS OF ASSUMING LIABILITY. TOYTA NATIONAL REFUSES TO RECOGNIZE THERE WAS A FIRE. TRADED THE TRUCK AT A DIFFERENT TOYOTA DEALERSHIP (FOWLER TOYOTA). FIRST APPRAISAL FORM NOTED THE TRUCK HAD BEEN ON FIRE. THAT FORM WAS DESTROYED AND NEW ONE WAS ISSUED WITH NO MENTION OF THE FIRE. TOYOTA AND ITS DEALERSHIPS HAVE DONE THEIR VERY BEST TO COVER THIS UP. I WILL BE PURSUING OTHER AVENUES TO RECOVER MY LOSSES. *AK

CHEMICAL REACTION OF SULFURIC ACID WITH PLATED METALS OF BRAKE CASING PRODUCED TOXIC FUMES THAT WERE INHALED OVER AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME PRODUCING SEVERE FRONTAL SINUS PAIN, CONGESTION, BLEEDING, AND HEADACHE. THE BATTERY HOLD DOWN CLAMP WAS OVERTORQUE AT THE FACTORY AND RESULTED IN THE FRACTURE OF THE DELCO BATTERY CASING. SULFURIC ACID DRAINED OUT OF THE BATTERY CASING AND SPILLED ONTO THE FENDER WELL, DRIVER SIDE TIRE, BRAKE CASING,AND UNDER CARRIAGE. THE PLATED METAL SURFACES WERE DISOLOVED. I DROVE THE VEHICLE APPROX. 6 HOURS TO ST. LOUIS AND WAS FEELING ILL UPON ARRIVING.
