THE FRAME AND TRUCK BED HAVE SEVERE RUST ISSUES. THE TRUCK BED IS SHACKING NOW WHEN DRIVING. THE FRAME WAS "SPRAYED" WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO TOYOTA DEALERSHIP ON WINCHESTER ROAD THEY HAVE NOTICED A LOT OF RUST ON THE FRAME AND ON THE TRUCK BED AND ADVICE ME TO RID OF THE CAR BECAUSE THEY CANNOT DO NOTHING ABOUT IT EVEN TRADE FOR ANOTHER CAR. I HAD THE TRUCK INSPECTED BY MY MECHANIC BEFORE I BOUGHT AND THE CAR SEEMS TO BE OK. LATE ON ANOTHER MECHANIC POINTED OUT SEVERE. TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS INSPECT THE TRUCK AND SAID THAT IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I HAVE TO FIGURE OUT HOW MYSEFL HOW TO GET A NEW FRAME AND A NEW TRUCK BED BECAUSE I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO OR WHO TO CONTACT. MY MECHANIC ADVICE ME TO CONTACT NHTSA.

TOYOTA TUNDRA FRAME CORRODED. THERE IS A BASEBALL SIZED HOLE IN MY FRAME AND TOYOTA WAS NOTIFIED OF IT AND DENIED THAT IS WAS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO REPAIR ISSUES RELATED TO IMPROPER ANTI CORROSION TREATMENT DURING MANUFACTURING. THEY STATED THEY HAD A CAMPAIGN TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE BUT I WAS NOT NOTIFIED BY PHONE, FAX, MAIL, EMAIL, OR ANY OTHER MEANS.

THE RECALL ON MY 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA FOR RUSTED FRAME WAS INSPECTED BY THE DEALER WHO SAID THEY WOULD SPRAY IT WITH RUST PROHIBITIVE. I WAS A MECHANIC FOR MANY YEARS AND IF THE FRAME IS NOT STRIPPED DOWN AND SANDBLASTED TO METAL THERE IS NO GUARANTEED METHOD TO STOP THE RUSTING. TOYOTA SHOULD BE MADE TO REPLACE ALL THE FRAMES OTHERWISE IN A FEW YEARS THERE WILL BE MORE BROKEN FRAMES ON THE ROADS. I DON'T KNOW IF YOUR OFFICE WAS INVOLVED IN THE CLASS ACTION SUITE BUT I AM REASONABLE SURE LAWYERS AND JUDGES NO NOTHING OF MECHANICS OR ENGINEERING. I PLAN OF KEEPING MY TRUCK FOR MANY MORE YEARS AND IF THE FRAME FAILS THEN I WILL GETTING LEGAL COUNSEL FOR A RECOURSE TO SOME ENTITY BE IT GOVERNMENT OR COMMERCIAL. I RECENTLY PURCHASES A USED 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA DOUBLE CAB FROM A PRIVATE PARTY. I TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE ON AC PAVEMENT WITH NO MAJOR ISSUES, BUT UPON PURCHASING AND DRIVING ON MY TYPICAL FREEWAY COMMUTE TRAVELING AT NORMAL SPEEDS (55-70MPH) IT SHAKES VIOLENTLY. THE SHAKING RESONATED AT ONE POINT SO VIOLENTLY THAT I LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND HAD TO DRASTICALLY SLOW DOWN TO REGAIN CONTROL. I AM FEARFUL OF MY SAFETY AND THAT OF ANY PASSENGERS, ESPECIALLY MY CHILDREN. I HAVE SUBSEQUENTLY FOUND FORUM INFORMATION ONLINE THAT SPEAKS TO THIS "BED BOUNCE" PROBLEM, AND A RELEVANT TSB FROM TOYOTA. 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA. CONSUMER STATES CRUISE CONTROL DOES ENGAGE AND THEN WILL NOT DISENGAGE BRAKES. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE BRAKES WOULD NOT HOLD AT STOP SIGNS AND THE VEHICLE WOULD MOVE FORWARD. THE VEHICLE HAD ELECTRICAL SHORTS IN THE WIRING SUCH AS; THE HEADLIGHTS, CLOCK, CIGARETTE LIGHTER, ALARM AND DOOR LOCKS. THE SEAT BELTS WOULD NOT ALWAYS LATCH. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD NOT ACTIVATE, THERE WAS A SEVERE SHAKE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE, THE STEERING WOULD ACT ERRATIC AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK WHICH CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT WHILE BACKING OUT OF HIS DRIVEWAY.. *JB

TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER A MINIMUM OF FOUR TIMES TO REVIEW THE SITUATION. 2. HAD AN INDEPENDENT AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR SHOP LOOK AT THE PROBLEM. 3. BOTH THE DEALER SHIP AND THE AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR SHOP AGREE THERE IS A VIBRATION ISSUE. 4. THE DEALER CLAIMS THE ISSUE IS WITH THE TIRE BALANCE. THEY HAVE "ROAD FORCE BALANCED THE TIRES". 5. I HAVE A 2007 TUNDRA DC TRD TRUCK. I REPLACED THE OEM TIRES AT 19500 MILES (BFG RUGGED TRAILS) WITH MICHELIN LTX AT2'S MARCH 2009. I NOW HAVE 23,800 MILES ON THE TRUCK. NOW ANYTIME I GO OVER ANY TYPE OF BUMP REGARDLESS OF SPEED THE BED BOUNCES SO BAD THAT IT VIBRATES UP THROUGH THE CAB. THE BED BOUNCED BEFORE BUT NOT THIS BAD. I FEEL IT IN THE DRIVERS SEAT. IF I DRIVE ON A BACK DIRT ROAD THE BACK END BOUNCES ALL OVER THE ROAD. I BROUGHT THIS TO THE ATTENTION OF THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY HADN'T HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM WHEN I REPORTED IT IN SEPTEMBER OF 2009. NOW THAT THE MECHANIC CALLED TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS IN CA, HE SAID THERE WERE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND THAT THERE WAS NO FIX FOR IT. SERVICE MANAGER SAID IT WAS THE TIRES. DEALER RECOMMENDED I ADD WEIGHT IN THE BED, I ADDED 5 SANDBAGS, 300 LBS (WINTER IS ALMOST HERE) AND IT MADE NO DIFFERENCE TO THE RIDE. NEITHER DEALER WOULD ACKNOWLEDGE A PROBLEM OR OFFER ANY SOLUTIONS. ONE OF THE DEALERS SUGGESTED I ADD ABOUT 200 POUNDS OF WEIGHT TO THE BED OF THE TRUCK TO TRY TO IMPROVE THE RIDE. THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE 2007 TUNDRA SUSPENSION THAT CAUSES A MECHANICAL RESONANCE ON VARIOUS CONCRETE ROADS. THIS RESULTS IN A "SHAKING", "BOUNCING", "WOBBLING" THAT IS SEEMINGLY SEVERE ENOUGH TO CAUSE INJURIES IN YOUNG OR ELDERLY PASSENGERS AT LEGAL SPEED LIMITS. FURTHERMORE THE WOBBLING COULD LEAD TO ACCIDENTS DUE TO LOSS OF CONTROL AT HIGHER SPEEDS. I AM CERTAIN THAT IF THIS ISSUE IS NOT ADDRESSED, IT WILL EVENTUALLY LEAD TO INJURY. UNRESOLVED SAFETY ISSUES WITH 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA: 1. TOWING MIRRORS VIBRATE, PREVIOUSLY REPORTED TOYOTA CASE # 200704230738. MIRRORS ARE UNUSABLE ABOVE 40MPH DUE TO VIBRATION. 2. BED BOUNCE IS SO SEVERE ON SOME ROADS, PARTICULARLY I-10 BETWEEN INDIO AND LOS ANGELES, THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CARRY ON A NORMAL CONVERSATION. DEALER RESPONSE TO BOTH ISSUES HAS BEEN THEY ALL DO THIS, SO THEY CANNOT MAKE A FIX UNTIL TOYOTA COMES UP WITH A SOLUTION. INTERNET REPORTS PROVE THAT THE DEALER IS CORRECT: ALL TUNDRAS HAVE THESE PROBLEMS. THUS THE PROBLEM IS NOT WITH THE DEALER, BUT IS INDICATIVE OF FIRST-YEAR PRODUCTION PROBLEMS. WE BOUGHT A NEW 2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA DOUBLE CAB IN AUGUST. WE DISCOVERED ON CERTAIN FREEWAYS (CONCRETE) THE BED BOUNCE IS TERRIBLE. WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL OTHER TRUCKS IN THE PAST AND ALL OF THEM HAVE HAD A SMALL AMOUNT OF BED BOUNCE, BUT THIS VERHICLE IS UNSAFE. THE ENTIRE TRUCK BOUNCES TO THE EXTENT THAT MY HUSBAND GETS SICK TO HIS STOMACH AFTER A 20 MINUTE DRIVE. I REFUSE TO TAKE MYSELF OR OUR GRANDCHILDREN IN THIS VEHICLE. ONE OF THESE DAYS THERE WILL BE AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE STABILITY OF THIS VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. TOYOTA DEALER IN OUR AREA REFUSES TO DRIVE MORE THAN A 5-10 MILE RADIUS ON A TEST DRIVE SO THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM WE HAVE MENTIONED. THIS SAFTEY FACTOR NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
