On 5 different occasions between January-March 2023 the accelerator pedal continued to accelerate after the pedal pressure was released. Even with braking, the accelerator pedal did not decelerate. Pedal had to be lifted back to original position by using toe of foot underneath the pedal. Occurred 4 times in city driving and once on highway. Extremely hazardous conditions if I did not react to stop the acceleration. On three of the occasions I was behind a vehicle which could have caused an accident had my reaction not been quick. Toyota dealership stated all previous recalls in regards to accelerator pedal were complied with and refused any additional service to uncontrolled acceleration issues.

I have multiple problems with the dash lights going on and off , have taken it to car repair when scanned and had replaced relays many times. I have read many stories of people having the same problem with toyota tundras and no one can figure it out. Toyota should have a recall for this because it is not just one or two people with this same exact problem, it is many toyota tundra owners going through the same problems that i' am experiencing.

TRANSMISSION SLIPPED AND VEHICLE LOSE OF POWER. DASHBOARD ALL WARNING LIGHTS BEGAN TO FLASH. PULLED TO SIDE OF ROAD. TURNED OFF VEHICLE ATTEMPTED TO RESET. MANAGED TO GET VEHICLE TO NEARBY PARKING LOT AND OUT OF TRAFFIC. COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER TO DRIVE TRAIN. CAUSE WAS POWER STEERING UNIT SENSOR PER TOYOTA. TOYOTA COVERED PART IN ATTEMPT TO PREVENT THIS COMPLAINT. FROM INTERNET, "SOME 2007-2008 TOYOTA TUNDRA VEHICLES MAY EXPERIENCE POWER STEERING DTCS P0552 AND/OR P0553. THE POWER STEERING SENSOR HAS SINCE BEEN CHANGED TO CORRECT THIS CONDITION. THE OLD/PREVIOUS POWER STEERING SENSOR IS P/N 89448-34010. THIS HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH SENSOR P/N 89448-34020. USING TIS TECHSTREAM, CONFIRM THE CONDITION BY CHECKING FOR DTCS P0552 AND/OR P-553. DISCONNECT THE PRESSURE SENSOR CONNECTOR AND PROCEED WITH REMOVING THE POWER STEERING PRESSURE SWITCH, WHICH IS LOCATED AT THE POWER STEERING VANE PUMP AND IS MOUNTED TO THE HIGH PRESSURE FEED LINE. INSTALL THE NEW POWER STEERING PRESSURE SENSOR, TIGHTENING TO 15.2 FT.-LBS. (20.6 NM). WITH THE NEW SENSOR FULLY INSTALLED AND CONNECTED, START THE ENGINE AND CHECK FOR LEAKS. ADJUST POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL AS NEEDED."

CRUISE CONTROL RANDOMLY STOPS WORKING. WORKS PERFECTLY FOR A FEW DAYS THEN QUITS. SOMETIMES THE CRUISE LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED BUT THE CRUISE CONTROL STILL DOES NOT FUNCTION. THE ISSUE SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO THE STEERING COLUMN. SOMETIMES WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED LOCK TO LOCK THE CRUISE CONTROL THEN OPERATES NORMALLY. LOCAL MECHANIC SAYS THIS MAY BE THE "CLOCK GEAR" WHICH IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE.

FOUND OUT CODE P2442 SECONDARY AIR INDUCTION SYSTEM FAILURE PUT TRUCK INTO LIMP MODE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN JUST PARTS TO REPAIR THIS SYSTEM. SO MANY PEOPLE HAVING SAME PROBLEMS WITH SAME VEHICLE. TOYOTA SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL AND RE ENGINEER A REMEDY FOR THIS POOR DESIGN AT NO COST TO THE CONSUMER. THE ASPHALT WAS DRY. THERE WERE DARK BLACK TIRE MARKS ON THE ASPHALT FROM MY RIGHT REAR TIRE, WHICH ALSO APPEARED TO SHOW WEAR FROM BURNING RUBBER. THIS IS MY 5TH UNINTENDED ACCELERATION SINCE LATE OCT .MILEAGE 8794. WITH TOYOTA STATING IT WAS AN ENGINE MISFIRE. AND TOYOTA MOTORS INSPECTING THE VEHICLE ONLY TO SAY THE VEHICLE IS FINE. MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY MPG GALLON GAUGE WAS GETTING STUCK AT 60MILES PER GALLON. TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR KEEP COMING ON. VEH. STARTED TO IDLE ROUGH. I TOOK MY VEH. TO THE TOYOTA DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND SERVICE. THEY KEEP MY VEH. FROM APPROX FROM OCT 29,10 TO NOV.6,10. TOYOTA DEALER RESPONSE WAS THAT THE ENGINE HAD A SEVERE MISFIRE THAT MAY HAVE BEEN TAKEN FOR A SLIGHT SURGE. THE #1 & 3 FUEL INJECTORS REPLACED. ACCELERATION PEDAL REPLACED. ON NOV. 13,10 THE VEH. HAD UNINTENDED ACCELERATION ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASION WHEN PARKING VEH. IN DRIVEWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS BURNING RUBBER WHILE I HAD FOOT ON BRAKE, BECAUSE WE WOULD HAVE GONE THRU GARAGE DOOR. THE MANUFACTURER TOOK A REPORT AND ADVISED HER THAT SHE COULD HAVE THE DEALER REPLACED THE GAS PEDAL. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WERE 46,000.

I OWN A 2008 TOYOTA TUNDRA WHICH I PURCHASED NEW. FROM THE DAY I PURCHASED IT, THE ACCELERATOR FLUCTUATED WHENEVER I HIT A BUMP. THIS WAS MOST EVIDENT WHEN I STARTED FROM A STOP AND HIT A BUMP. I DIDN'T THINK TOO MUCH ABOUT IT UNTIL THE FLUCTUATION BECAME SO BAD I THOUGHT I WOULD AT SOME POINT, LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I NOTIFIED TOYOTA ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WHEN IN 2010, MY VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR ACCELERATOR PROBLEMS. TOYOTA REPLACED THE ACCELERATOR. I CONTINUED TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SENSITIVE ACCELERATOR UNTIL A DISTRICT SERVICE MANAGER NOTIFIED ME THAT MY VEHICLE'S ACCELERATOR WAS NORMAL. HE FURTHER INDICATED THAT NEW TUNDRA'S HAD THE SAME ACCELERATOR FEEL AS MINE. THE DISTRICT MANAGER STATED THAT HE HAD PARKED MY VEHICLE NEXT TO A NEW VEHICLE IN CASE I WANTED TO COMPARE THE NEW VEHICLE TO MINE. I DID NOT COMPARE THE TWO VEHICLES. I HAVE A 2008 TOYOTA TUNDRA WITH APPROX 48,000 MILES. THE TRUCK IS "LIMPING" AROUND WITH NO POWER. I CANNOT DRIVE IT ON THE INTERSTATE AS IT WILL NOT GO OVER 45 OR 50 MPH. I STOPPED VEHICLE AND TURNED IGNITION OFF. I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, ALL WARNING LIGHTS WERE OFF AND STARTED DRIVING AGAIN. FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER THE SAME CONDITION OCCURRED, SAME WARNING LIGHTS. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. I CALLED THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS CONDITION AND TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. OVER THE NEXT 9 DAYS (WAITING FOR PARTS), CONDITION SEEMED YET EVEN WORSE, UNEVEN "JERKY" ACCELERATION, UNEXPECTED ABS ACTIVATION AND/OR BRAKING. INERMITTANTLY THERE WOULD SOMETIMES BE WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A GRINDING AND/OR CLUNKING NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE IT COULD BE COMING FROM THE BRAKES AND/OR TRANSMISSION. ON 3-24-10 THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP RECEIVED THE PARTS (RIGHT REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR) AND INSTALLED THE SAME. THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. TO DATE (3-31-10) THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP STILL HAS MY VEHICLE, THEY HAVE REPLACED THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR, WIRING HARNESS TO THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR AND STATED TODAY THEY WILL BE REPLACING THE WIRING HARNESS FROM THE ABS MODULATOR TO THE WIRING HARNESS TO THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR. I ALSO SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP TODAY (3-31-10) AND HE STATED THEY WOULD NOT RETURN MY VEHICLE TO ME UNTIL THE PROBLEMS ARE REPAIRED AS IT IS A "SAFETY HAZARD".

THE EVENT WAS EXPERIENCED WITHIN 10 MINUTES/3.5 MILES AFTER LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP FOLLOWING DEALER-SERVICE WORK THAT INCLUDED, AMONG OTHER ITEMS, IMPLEMENTATION OF THE TOYOTA RECALL TO INSERT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL SHIM (SSC). THIS IS THE ONLY SUCH EVENT EXPERIENCED TO DATE WITH THIS TRUCK. THE EVENT WITH THE VEHICLE PARKED AND THE ENGINE IDLING NORMALLY (APPROXIMATELY 800 RPM), I PLACED MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE IN PREPARATION OF SHIFTING THE TRANSMISSION FROM PARK TO DRIVE. MY FOOT WAS WELL CENTERED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND NOT IN CONTACT AT ALL WITH THE THROTTLE PEDAL. THERE WAS NO CHANGE IN ENGINE SPEED AT THIS POINT. I THEN SHIFTED THE TRANSMISSION FROM PARK TO DRIVE. AS SOON AS THE DRIVE POSITION WAS ENGAGED, WITH MY FOOT UNCHANGED FROM ITS FIRM POSITION ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE ENGINE SPEED IMMEDIATELY WENT TO FULL THROTTLE. AS I HEARD THE ENGINE SPEED UP, I APPLIED FULL PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE TO HOLD THE VEHICLE IN ITS STATIONARY POSITION. THE REAR WHEELS BROKE LOOSE FROM THE PAVEMENT AND BEGAN SPINNING; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE REMAINED STATIONARY, HELD BY THE BRAKING OF THE FRONT WHEELS. I WAS AT THE WALMART IN BOLIVAR, MO 6:30 PM ON MARCH 4TH. GOT IN MY TUNDRA PUT IT IN REVERSE, BACKED UP AND PUT IT IN DRIVE. AS I PUSHED ON THE ACCELERATOR TO GO FORWARD SLOWLY THE TRUCK ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. I CALLED THEM AGAIN THE MORNING OF MARCH 5TH, 2010 AND GAVE THEM THE DETAILS. A CLAIMS ADJUSTER HAS ASSESSED THE DAMAGE ON THE BODY OF THE TRUCK BUT THOSE REPAIRS HAVE NOT YET BEEN COMPLETED. ON MARCH 11TH, 2010 I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL FROM TOYOTA ON THE TRUCK FOR A ACCELERATOR PEDAL REINFORCEMENT BAR INSTALLATION. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THAT SAME DAY TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT GET ME IN UNTIL APRIL. WHEN I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE ACCIDENT THEY CHANGE MY SCHEDULED TIME TO THAT SAME DAY, MARCH 11TH AT 6:00 PM. 7/29/09 DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 65 MPH TRANSMISSION STARTED SHIFTING GEAR AND MPH WAS MOVING FROM 60 TO 80 UP AND BACK DOWN. I HAVE A STRONG BELIEF AFTER MY EXPERIENCE THAT TOYOTA HAS A DEFECT WITH "SPEED SENSOR WIRES' AND MAY KNOW AND IS KEEPING IT UNDER WRAPS. MAYBE BECAUSE OF SAFETY PROBLEMS OR THAT IT'S CONTRIBUTING TO A SHORT CIRCUIT AND UNINTENDED ACCELERATION AS PROFESSOR GILBERT HAD DEMONSTRATED ON ABC WITH WHAT COULD HAPPEN WITH A SHORT CIRCUIT IN SOME TOYOTA VEHICLES. SOMEONE FROM TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS THAT WAS VISITING MY DEALERSHIP PERSONALLY INVESTIGATED MY 2008 TUNDRA'S SPEED SENSOR WIRES WHICH ON ONE SIDE HAD COMPLETELY FAILED (SNAPPED COMPLETELY THROUGH) AND WAS FAILING ON THE OTHER SIDE (PARTIALLY BROKEN THROUGH) AT THE SAME SPOT. TOYOTA CHOSE TO REPAIR BOTH BUT RATHER CLASSIFIED THE REPAIRS AS A 'COURTESY REPLACEMENT' VERSUS UNDER THE VEHICLES WARRANTY. THIS I HAVE A STRONG BELIEF WAS DONE TO KEEP IT OFF THE BOOKS BACK AT HEADQUARTERS AND UNDER WRAPS. THIS HAPPENED IN JAN OF 2010. OTHER INDICATIONS THIS IS WIDER SPREAD BUT UNREALIZED AS TO BEING A DEFECT PROBLEM: 1) THE DEALERSHIP HAD TO WAIT A LONG TIME BECAUSE THEY HAD A HARD TIME RETRIEVING REPLACEMENT PARTS, PROBABLY LOW ON STOCK DUE TO OTHER REPLACEMENTS. 2) THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP HAD REPAIRED ANOTHER TUNDRA AT THE SAME LOCATION FOR THE SAME PROBLEM RIGHT BEFORE MINE, WHICH I HEARD ABOUT THROUGH A CONTACT. 3) INTERNET SEARCH INDICATIONS. NOTE: AT FIRST GLANCE A TORN OR SPLIT WIRE MAY APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY ROAD DEBRIS OR IN THE CASE OF A VEHICLE CRASH IF WIRE ALREADY WAS EXHIBITED PROBLEMS MAY BE THOUGHT TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY AN IMPACT IF DISCOVERED AFTER AN IMPACT. TWO SEPARATE TOYOTA DEALERS DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE SIX TIMES AND ALSO EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE DEALER IS WAITING FOR A RESPONSE FROM THE MANUFACTURER ON HOW TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. HE ALSO FILED CLAIM NUMBER 0904137238 WITH THE MANUFACTURER WHO FOLLOWED UP WITH HIM TO FIND OUT IF THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I HAVE A 2008 TOYOTA TUNDRA 4WD, LARGE V8 .WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE I HAVE HAD THREE INSTANCES WERE THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. EACH TIME THIS OCCURRED AT A LOW SPEED[2-6MPH].] FURTHER PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE STOPPED THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO WAY BOTH PEDALS WERE PRESSED. I FIND THE ACCELERATOR TO BE VERY TOUCHY. I FIND MYSELF HAVING TO ENGAGE THE AUTO DIFFERENTIAL LOCK TO CONTROL MY ACCELERATION FROM A STOPPED POSITION. IF I DON'T THE ACCELERATOR CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO SPIN THE TIRES. I HAVE HAD AN ACCELERATOR PROBLEM WITH MY 2008 TOYOTA TUNDRA. LAST SUMMER MY ACCELERATOR STUCK IN FULL THROTTLE POSITION AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL, THE ENGINE OVER-REVVED, AND THE PEDAL FINALLY RETURNED TO THE NORMAL POSITION. WHEN I CONTACTED THE DEALER I WAS TOLD THAT IT MUST HAVE STUCK ON THE FLOORMAT, BUT THIS WAS NOT POSSIBLE. THE FLOORMAT WAS NO WHERE NEAR THE PEDAL. I COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS HAPPENING AND THE FACT THE PEDAL FELT LIKE IT HAD PULLED ITSELF DOWN MORE THAN WHAT I WAS PUSHING ON IT. I ALSO COMPLAINED OF THE PEDAL BEING HARD TO PUSH AT TAKE OFF AND ALWAYS JOLTING FORWARD AT TAKE OFF DUE TO THE PRESSURE NEEDED TO PUSH THE ACCELERATOR. THE DEALER AGAIN STATED IT HAD TO BE THE FLOORMAT AND ONLY DOCUMENTED THE PROBLEM OF THE PEDAL BEING HARD TO PUSH. WHEN THEY RETURNED THE VEHICLE THEY SAID THE PEDAL WAS FINE AND THAT IT WAS NORMAL TO HAVE TO PUSH HARD ON IT DUE TO THE FACT IT DID NOT OPERATE WITH A CABLE ANYMORE. I CONTACTED TOYOTA SEVERAL TIMES VIA EMAIL SINCE THE LATEST RECALL AND FINALLY RECEIVED A CALL TODAY FROM THEM. THE WOMAN WHO CALLED SAID TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TO BE REPAIRED. WHEN I ASKED HER IF THE INCIDENT WITH THE STUCK ACCELERATOR WOULD BE INVESTIGATED BY TOYOTA , SHE STATED THAT THERE ONLY ACTION WOULD BE THE RECALL FIX AND TO CONTACT THE DEALER.I FEEL TOYOTA OR AN INDEPENDENT AGENCY SHOULD CHECK THE VEHICLE BEFORE TOYOTA IS ALLOWED TO TOUCH IT, BECAUSE I DON'T FEEL THAT THERE SHIM WILL FIX THIS PROBLEM. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON THREE OCCASIONS. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE FAILURE CODE; THEREFORE, STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE FLOOR MAT. REPORT 1001152167 WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 41,000.

AS I WAS ABOUT TO COMPLETE PARKING MY 2008 TOYOTA TUNDRA IN A PARKING SPACE AT NORTHAMPTON HIGH SCHOOL, NORTHAMPTON, MASSACHUSETTS THE TRUCK SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AT A HIGH RATE, WENT OVER A CURB AND INTO A CHAIN LINK FENCE DOING CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO THE FENCE AND TRUCK. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE TRUCK AND HITTING THE BRAKE WAS NOT ENOUGH TO STOP THE HIGH ACCELERATION. I FINALLY MADE THE TRUCK STOP BY SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL AND SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE. I WAS VERY LUCKY TO NOT HAVE BEEN HURT. IF THIS HAPPENED A FEW SECONDS EARLIER I WOULD HAVE HIT A GROUP OF STUDENTS WALKING IN THE PARKING LOT.THE STUDENTS WERE IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE BEFORE I MADE THE RIGHT TURN INTO THE PARKING SPACE. IT WAS VERY SCARY, I AM VERY NERVOUS NOW DRIVING THE TRUCK. MY WIFE WILL NOT DRIVE IT. I CONTACTED TOYOTA IMMEDIATELY. THEY HAVE BEEN VERY DIFFICULT TO DEAL WITH. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FLOOR MAT CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATED, YET SHE DOESN'T AGREE THAT THE FLOOR MATS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ENGINE. AS I ARRIVED AT MY HOME AND DROVE UP INTO MY DRIVEWAY I EXPERIENCED AN UNEXPLAINED ACCELERATION ON MY 2008 TOYOTA TUNDRA THAT MADE ME REACT TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES AND CAUSE THE TRUCK TO SLIDE ON AN UNPAVED (DIRT) SURFACE IN MY YARD AND SLIDE INTO THE TRUNK OF A PINE TREE AND DAMAGING THE FRONT BUMPER TO MY TRUCK. I HEARD ON THE NEWS THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE FLOOR MATS ON THIS VEHICLE TO BE REMOVED IF IT DID NOT HAVE CLIPS TO HOLD THE MAT IN PLACE. MY TRUCK DOES HAVE THE CLIPS TO HOLD THE MAT IN PLACE AND PREVENTS THE ACCELERATION PEDAL FROM GETTING LODGED WITH THE MAT. I DO BELIEVE THE ACCELERATION PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY AN UNKNOWN DEFECT AND NOT THE FLOOR MAT. CURRENTLY, THE FLOOR MAT REMAINS IN PLACE ON ITS CLIPS WITHOUT INTERFERENCE TO THE ACCELERATION PEDAL. TODAY, I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FROM TOYOTA TO REMOVE THE FLOOR MAT, THEREFORE, I WILL. AGAIN I DON'T BELIEVE THE FLOOR MAT WAS THE PROBLEM. WAS RETURNING HOME VIA THE INTERSTATE FROM FL; WE EXITED TO REFUEL. I FILLED THE TRUCK UP AT A SHELL STATION AS WE WERE LEAVING THE PUMPS I STARTED MY TUNDRA PLACED MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO PLACE IT INTO GEAR AND SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING AFTER PLACING THE VEHICLE INTO DRIVE IT TOOK OFF JUST LIKE I HAD PRESS THE ACCELERATOR IT ALTHOUGH I HAD NOT EVEN PLACED MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. I HAVE A 2008 TOYOTA TUNDRA TRUCK 5.7 V8 EXTENDED CAB 4X4 MY WIFE AND I DROVE FROM CHANDLER AZ TO IDAHO ,THEN TO YELLOWSTONE, THEN BACK TO SALT LAKE AND THEN TO PHOENIX AZ TILL THEN EVER THING WAS GREAT THE TRUCK RAN VERY WELL. WE COMING DOWN INTERSTATE 17 FROM FLAGSTAFF TO PHOENIX ABOUT 3/4 OF THE TO PHOENIX. I WAS TRAVELING AT THE SPEED LIMIT AT 75 MPH AND HAD JUST PUNCHED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO PASS A CAR WHILE GOING UP HILL. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WENT DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND WOULD NOT RELEASE BACK AS NORMAL . THE TRUCK PROCEED TO ACCELERATE TO 90 MPH AND AT THIS POINT I AGAIN PUSHED 5-6 TIMES ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO HAVE IT RELEASE BUT IT CONTINUED TO GO FASTER TO 100 MPH AT THIS POINT I KNEW WE IN DEEP TROUBLE AND DANGER. I WAS PUSHING HARD ON THE BRAKE AND TRYING TO MOVE FROM THE LEFT LANE IN TRAFFIC AT NIGHT TO THE RIGHT LANE TO TRY AND STOP THE TRUCK . I GOT TO THE RIGHT LANE AND TO THE SHOULDER AND HIT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND WAS STAMPING HARD ON THE BREAK PEDAL AND TRYING TO SHIFT OUT OF GEAR TO NEUTRAL . IN THE PANIC I AM NOT SURE WHAT ALL HAPPENED BUT THE TRUCK LUNGED FORWARD VERY HARD THEN DIED / ENGINE STOPPED . I STARED THE ENGINE AND TESTED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND IT SEEMED TO BE FINE , I CHECKED FOR THE LOGICAL THINGS LIKE THE HEAVY RUBBER FLOOR MAT, HAD IT GOT PUSHED UP ON THE PEDAL BUT THIS WAS NOT THE CASE AS IT WAS 4 INCHES AWAY AND IT HAS RUBBER KNOBS OR STUDS THAT PUSH INTO THE CARPET AND WILL NOT SLIDE ALSO MY LEFT FOOT WAS FIRMLY PLANTED ON THE MAT AT ALL TIMES . NO WAY THAT MAT WAS THE PROBLEM. THERE WAS NO DIRT ETC AS THE ACCELERATOR HAS A HEAVY SPRING AND THE PEDAL IS 3-4 INCHES OFF THE CARPET.
