The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 MPH, the instrument cluster went black, and the vehicle started losing motive power. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled but almost immediately restarted. The contact was able to keep driving, but the vehicle failed to respond while depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer for service, and the vehicle was diagnosed and it was determined that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V767000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact was informed that the part was not yet available for the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was made aware of the recall from the dealer and had not received a recall letter. Additionally, the contact stated that whenever the vehicle was shifted into reverse(R), the vehicle hesitated before jolting into gear. The vehicle had not been diagnosed for the failure. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and offered to provide the contact with a loaner vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.

2023 Toyota Tundra experienced repeated engine stalling and vehicle lock-up while driving on public roads, including in an intersection. During one incident, the driver was thrown forward into the steering wheel. A Toyota dealer attempted repair by replacing the neutral/park safety switch, but the repair failed and the dangerous condition persisted immediately after. The vehicle has been removed from use due to safety concerns. The issue is consistent with known engine stalling concerns affecting certain 2022–2024 Toyota Tundra vehicles. The vehicle is unsafe to operate.

Throttle lagging, truck won’t accelerate at low speeds and is very jerky

Dec 22, 2025

whenever driving my vehicle, there is noticible delay/lag when attempting to accelerate. This occurs primarily from when first starting from a compelte stop, but it also noticible in other scenarios. When stopped at a stop sign or traffic light, for example, first accelerating produces a lag and delay in movement of the vehicle. The dealership has "reflashed" the transmission which seemed to rmeedy this but only for a very short time. The same issue returned quite soon after. This lag does not produce any warning or error lights or messages. Many other users on vehicle-specific forums + internate groups have all reported sumilar behavior with no permanent solution to date.

Dec 13, 2025

While driving under normal conditions, my 2023 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro Hybrid experienced a sudden and severe loss of propulsion. The vehicle abruptly entered fail-safe (limp) mode and would not accelerate beyond approximately 5–10 mph. This occurred without warning and created an immediate safety hazard in traffic. Multiple warning messages illuminated simultaneously, including: Hybrid System Malfunction, Check Engine, Smart Stop System Malfunction, and Advanced Ultrasonic Detection Malfunction. The hybrid system effectively shut down and the vehicle could not maintain normal road speed. I brought the vehicle to a Toyota dealership. The dealership performed only ECM and hybrid ECU software updates and cleared codes. No mechanical inspection, oil pressure analysis, particulate inspection, turbo system evaluation, hybrid motor synchronization testing, or engineering-level diagnostics were performed. Toyota Corporate subsequently stated that the software update was the “final” resolution and declined further diagnostics. I was advised to return to the dealership if the issue reoccurs. This failure mode matches the documented loss-of-propulsion behavior described in Toyota’s V35A engine machining-defect recall (sudden power loss, limp mode, cascading system failures). Hybrid models are currently excluded despite using the same engine platform and exhibiting identical symptoms. Sudden loss of propulsion at road speed presents a serious crash risk. This appears to be a safety-related defect that is not being adequately investigated or remedied for hybrid models.

The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that upon depressing the accelerator pedal while at complete stop at a red traffic light or while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate as intended. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where the transmission software was reset; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously taken to another local dealer, where an unknown engine recall was performed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Throttle lags/hesitates at times when accelerating from a stop.

Dec 12, 2025

Hesitation from vehicle when pressing gas coming from a rolling stop. Late response from vehicle which may increase risk of crash or injury when vehicle does not move.

Dec 12, 2025

When slowing down and then accelerating OR coming to a stop on an incline and then gassing it, the truck will stall for 1-2 seconds and then launch off. This has almost caused a wreck multiple times as I get stuck in the roadway for 1-2 seconds before being able to cross the lane and complete my turn. The dealership has said they've heard of the issue but could not duplicate it. No dashboard lights came on during the power failure.

Dec 3, 2025

When accelerating from a low speed (under 15mpg) there is significant throttle lag causing risk of accident

Nov 30, 2025

When trying to accelerate from coming to a stop I almost always have throttle hesitation and or lag. This had cause me to almost get into a few crashes when trying to turn left due to the truck not responding for a few seconds.

Nov 29, 2025

Throttle lag. Sometimes when I press on the gas after a stop the truck lags to accelerate which is dangerous and can cause an accident.

Nov 28, 2025

On several occasions I have a dead pedal situation on acceleration from a brief stop. When you press the accelerator, the truck does not accelerate immediately. Instead there is a second or two pause before truck responds to accelerator input. When crossing traffic, this hesitation has caused several situations in which i have almost been t-boned.

Nov 26, 2025

intermitantly, there is a severe power lag when accelerating from stop. When stopped (stop sign or light), and I hit the accelerator, there is no immediate power, then the vehicle will "rocket" from the stop position. This is creating a very dangerous situation, as the lag sometimes puts me in position of pulling out in front of oncoming traffic, or spins the tires and I lose control. This situation happens about 30% of the time from stop. I have not taken it in for service yet, but from researching, this is a known problem throughout the Tundra community. There are no warnings prior to this happening.

Nov 25, 2025

My 2023 Toyota Tundra has an intermittent issue where the throttle lags or hesitates when accelerating from a complete stop. The problem occurs unpredictably and causes the truck to fail to respond when pressing the gas pedal. The issue appears to be related to the engine or throttle response system, and the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This malfunction puts my safety and the safety of others at risk because the hesitation can occur while turning left across traffic or merging into traffic, leaving the truck momentarily stalled in the path of oncoming vehicles. The problem has not yet been officially reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center, but it has happened multiple times under normal driving conditions. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives at this time. There were no warning lights, messages, or other indicators before or during the hesitation; it happens without any prior notice.

Nov 25, 2025

The truck will hesitate for a brief second while trying to accelerate from both stop and in drive where it'll jolt you forward. This will also happen when shifting into driving and it jolts you forward. This is a huge safety risk because my truck can stall when i need the truck to go. I have brought it up to the dealership which told me multiple times as "normal". No lights has popped up but I know my other cars doesn't stall when giving gas.

Nov 25, 2025

Over the course of ownership I have had frequent instances of loss of power and/or lack of acceleration resulting in almost stalling out while trying to take off. This causes dangerous situations when trying to pull out into traffic because you never know when the vehicle might hesitate and crest unsafe distances between you and other moving vehicles.

Nov 25, 2025

Throttle Lag/Hesitation when starting from a standstill. Same also occurs when slowly going up a hill, letting off throttle and then back on throttle - engine no response and causes vehicle to roll backwards before engine/transmission catch on again. No service center has looked at this issue yet.

Nov 25, 2025

I experience delayed throttle response and throttle lag daily. Acceleration is unpredictable. The vehicle barely moves in some cases when pressing the gas pedal. Other times, the tires will chirp. The vehicle will sometimes hesitate so long to accelerate, that I've almost been T-boned and I've held up traffic. It seems like the truck thinks I'm going to run into something, even when there's nothing in front of me. The delay is sometimes 3-5 seconds before it will allow any acceleration. This seems like a huge safety issue, not being able to get out of the way of oncoming traffic and having such an unpredictable, and often delayed throttle response.

Oct 22, 2025

When from a stop vehicle does not accelerate as normal, especially while turning. Lag and hesitation is experienced for a moment and then catches causing a rapid acceleration. When turning across oncoming lanes of traffic the unexpected lag and lack of acceleration considerably increases risk of side collision from cross traffic and risk of rear collision from traffic behind due to inability to know consistent time, speed, and acceleration needed to safely cross lanes of traffic and expected acceleration speed anticipated by vehicles from rear. Concern has been brought up to dealer and properly notified. Dealer was unable to replicate. No dash warnings appeared.

I PURSHASED MY VEHICLE 4/13/24 AND ON 4/30/24 (IMPORTANT SEFETY RECALL APPEAR) I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THE IN MY CAR, BECAUSE OF SET RECALL ' ENGINE TO STOP WHILE DRIVING ' MY CAR IS NOT DRIVING SMOOTHLY LIKE IT SHOULD DRIVE A ''NEW CAR'' WHEN I START DRIVING THE CAR IT START TO SHAKING AND THROTTLE LAG 'LIKE THE CAR DO NOT WANT TO DRIVE' WHEN I CONTACT THE DEALER, THEY SAID " WE CALL WHEN THE REMEDY IS AVAILABLE'' MY CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR CAUSE IT RECALL THAT IT HAS, I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO ENJOY MY CAR LIKE IT SHOULD, CUASE IM AFRAID THAT I WILL GET ON AN ACCIDENT. PLEASE I NEED SOMEONE TO HELP ME, NO ONE IS DOING NOTHING IT BEEN A YEAR AND MY CAR IS GETTING WORST, AND I STILL MAKING PAYING ON THE CAR THAT I CAN NOT ENJOY. I NEED MY CAR FIX ASAP.

Aug 5, 2025

I continue to get this message on my dash while driving and no one in front, on side or behind my vehicle: *Foreign Object Speed Acceleration reduced. *Radio Know broke a second time *windows stutter when going up or down while wet *windows rattle *poor acceleration at take off ( very dangerous on the expressway)

Jul 28, 2025

Vehicle losses a lot of power after being in a stop sign and trying to accelerate, there is also a ticking sound in the engine. With my fuel my car shows that there’s a full tank but in reality there is half a tank.

May 30, 2025

Hesitation when trying to accelerate. When I start my truck in the morning And hit the gas there’s a hesitation before it will move and When I come to a stop sign and hit the gas there’s always a hesitation. When the truck finally starts to move it jumps quickly forward from pressing down on the gas pedal and it’s almost caused me to rear end someone multiple times.

May 27, 2025

My 2023 Toyota Tundra motor just locked up exactly as the events discussed on the recall with the same model. Toyota stated that my truck was not affected yet here we are. Toyota opted to do a short block replacement instead of the long block as they did with the other trucks. I am concerned that I will have similar failure down the line due to residual metal in the turbo lines and or turbos that will cause turbo and or possible engine filatures later down the line. This is a safety issue because it can result in me being stranded if failure occurs aware from home. This needs to be addressed. Also my truck lurges and the gas pedal does not always respond. A serious investigation needs to be launched against Toyota, these issues can result in many Americans dying if left un checked!!

May 9, 2025

Vibration and noise in the engine and front wheel bearing

Mar 5, 2025

The engine began to misfire and stumble while idling. There was smoke present from the tail pipe when you would take off from the stop light. After Toyota ran an oil consumption campaign they came to the conclusion that the valve guides were bad and they need to replace both heads on the vehicle. It took 3 week for the repairs to be completed.

Feb 19, 2025

After braking or coming to a momentary stop, such as a stop sign, the tundra’s throttle is delayed for 2-3 seconds. Full pedal to floor, no acceleration. Extremely scary when it occurs, results in pulling out into traffic and having to wait 2-3 seconds before accelerating. It seems to be the ECM hunting for gears after slowing, hesitating, then selecting 6th gear and bottoming out before downshifting to 2nd and nearly burning out as it finally accelerates away from rapidly approaching traffic. Often happens, or is noticed more frequently, when turning right from a stop sign. Please have Toyota fix this, they are not acknowledging there is an issue!

Feb 19, 2025

Hesitation when trying to accelerate. When I come to a stop sign and hit the gas, there’s always a hesitation

Feb 18, 2025

Vehicle suffers from power failure response intermittently when attempting to accelerate. Sometimes it feels as it’s its sputtering before getting a sudden jolt of acceleration.

Feb 18, 2025

Truck sporadically will not accelerate from stop without significant lag when gas pedal is pressed. Happens infrequently, but typically occurs after truck is started.

Feb 18, 2025

There is a lag in the accelerator. It happens 10 to 20% of the time. It is a one or two second lag on the gas pedal. Pretty critical when turning out into traffic. I have al most been hit twice due to car not accelerating properly. I have taken to the dealer twice. They have told me they could not recreate when driving

Feb 18, 2025

Hesitation From Stop and Surge Concerns. this may cause traffic surge, collison in my front for having no control of the speed if I end up pressing the gas all the way which it cause a quick surge of speed, due to the hesitation when pressing the gas, this happened to my car for a lot of times now which I ignored it until I saw the help from the Toyota Tundra forum, that I can actually send a report to NHTSA.

Feb 7, 2025

The vehicle is a great vehicle. However, I have been noticing that my transmission fluid temperatures rise quickly, whether on the highway or when driving around town. I spoke to a Toyota dealership, and they told me that the proper operating temperatures for the transmission are between 167 degrees and 185 degrees. the temperatures on my transmissions have gotten past 200 degrees. I feel that it is a safety issue because if I am towing or driving long distances or in stop-and-go traffic over time, the transmission may cause a breakdown and then I will be stuck in the middle of traffic. It is a pretty big and heavy vehicle to push off the roadway, and way too expensive to allow someone to push me off of the roadway.

Jan 27, 2025

Consistently this vehicle experiences a hesitation to accelerate from a stop or rolling stop such as a stop sign or at a round about type intersection. When this occurs there may be up to a 2 second delay from when I press the accelerator to when the vehicle moves and once it does begin to move it will jump forward rapidly. I have had several near miss collisions upon entering round abouts when this occurs as well as at several stop sign intersections. This problem has existed from when the vehicle was at about 5,000 miles. I have reported this condition to the Toyota dealer on 2 occasions and they tell me Toyota does not recognize this is an issue and there is no fix.

Jan 14, 2025

Even after the recall / tcm reprogram, this truck will especially when cold and rolling away from a stop after deceleration stall / stutter for a few seconds before it starts accelerating again.

Jan 12, 2025

Vehicle hesitates when accelerating from a stop. Feels like the engine may stall and the vehicle will not respond to throttle inputs. Very unsafe as I may not be able to accelerate to avoid an accident.

Jan 12, 2025

Excessive hesitation in acceleration from stop or slow start. No warnings displayed car has less than 18000 miles. The excessive hesitation poses a real danger when pulling into traffic or trying to avoid an accident. The truck can randomly take several seconds to respond to accelerator input. This issue halls been reported my many 2022 and later Tundra owner.

Jan 5, 2025

When in start and stop traffic when the vehicle is at low speeds below 5 mile an hour. The transmission does not properly downshift. This causes a severe lag in acceleration when needed in traffic or in Intersections. This delay is a safety issue due to causing a lack of vehicle movement when needed. The vehicle will basically not accelerate for a couple seconds until it decides to downshift. This happens continuously at speeds below 5 mile an hour. If you don’t stop completely and pause for a second or two, the transmission will not downshift properly. In traffic, you cannot do this.

Jan 5, 2025

At certain times when starting (pressing the accelerator pedal) from a total stop, or from when rolling very slowly, the tuck creeps forward but there is up to a two second delay in start of increase of engine revs and power being delivered. This is quite scary when pulling out into traffic. When the power comes on it tends to surge with rapid acceleration for a very short time. To be clear, no accident has occurred and there are no warning lights on the dash. However, I feel that this vehicle behavior creates a significant hazard worth highlighting. Once the vehicle starts moving, it goes back to normal operation within seconds. It’s not a consistent issue - it does not happen very frequently - but I’ve had it since the truck was new and it has 27k miles on it now. I have made several complaints to the maker and my dealer at every service, but they fail to replicate / recognize this issue after a number of tests drives. I went on a test drive with one dealer tech and when we replicated this issue I was told that ‘all trucks are like this’. There is a technical service bulletin fix for this, but the maker has refused to do it on my truck and others have reported that it did not resolve the issue on their trucks. From online forums, this seems to be a common issue on non-hybrid models. The truck transmission also tends to thud into drive when cold and the chances of the hesitation / surge issue occurring is higher just after a cold start (‘cold start’ being a relative term in South Texas). It most often occurs at the nearest stop sign just after I leave home, but does occur randomly at other times.

Jan 3, 2025

I’ve submitted this before the huge recall that Toyota just announced but my truck lands a few months after the dates of this recall. I have the same symptoms and have video evidence of my truck shutting off on the highway.

Aug 22, 2024

The transmission kicks hard at any speeds, i used the 4wd and the truck turned off and once i started it again it was a transmission burned fluid smell i only have 16k miles, this happened before when the truck had 1400 miles and the dealership said they cleared the codes and that it was ok…

Jul 30, 2024

The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that there was a clicking sound coming from the engine compartment while in neutral. The contact stated that while idling and then attempting to accelerate, the vehicle hesitated. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was made aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V381000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Jun 12, 2024

On numerous occasions when I am at a stop sign leaving work and trying to accelerate onto the 4 line highway my vehicle acceleration has a delay in it causing me to not properly accelerate into traffic almost causing me to get hit on numerous occasions. I have complained about this situation to the dealer and was told once that it was normal for the delay and once that it is just a V6 engine so that is why the delay. I am sure that I am not the only person having this issue is a problem and will be the result of many accidents if not addressed.

Jun 12, 2024

When pressing gas pedal from a stop position the car hesitates for a couple seconds and then goes all while the gas is pushed down

Jun 11, 2024

Pulling into traffic from a stop or near stop (such as a stop sign or yield sign), the vehicle does not respond to the gas pedal. After significant lag / hesitation, the vehicle lurches forward. This has happened multiple times starting around September 2023, and the problem is worse when the engine is cold (cold mornings) although it happens at all times to some extent. It seems to have gotten worst and happens almost daily at this point. There have been several times that the lag / hesitation has left me sitting in the middle of an intersection and almost caused me to be hit by other vehicles. I have had the vehicle in to the dealer 5 times for this issue and have been told it’s “normal” or they cannot replicate it. On the 5th time, Toyota corporate sent a representative Anthony Merejo, who verified in email that he experienced the hesitation and was sending the data back to Toyota engineering to see if there was a fix. That was about 6 weeks ago and I haven’t heard back.

Jun 9, 2024

The engine has rough idle, the dealership says they see a misfire and they say is normal for the vehicle to do this, is a brand new vehicle I bought with 9 miles im at 14 thousands now, and the truck has died using the 4wd and completely turned off, i took it to the dealership and they said the same like the engine, they cleared codes and thats all, i dont trust this vehicle i left it stranded on the sand once and the recalls they dont have solutions for any of them, toyota is neglecting customers now.

Jun 1, 2024

While traveling at highway speed, with no warning my truck lost acceleration power. There were other vehicles in the road, and I had to travel across multiple lanes to get to an exit while the vehicle was continuously slowing down. This put myself and my children at risk due to the sudden loss of power. I was able to exit and turn the engine off, after which, the problem seemed to stop. I took my truck to the dealership where it was purchased to have them check the truck, and they were unable to reproduce the problem. Their inspection only showed them that there were engine misfires. They told me the issue would need to be reproduced or would need to happen to me again before anything could be done about it or before they could get Toyota involved. I did explain that I had the "Reduced Engine Power" and "Brake System Malfunction" warning light that, through my research, have been experienced with other Tundra owners when they had "engine failures."

The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Tundra. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V566000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) and 24V125000 (Power Train) however, the parts to do the recall repair were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Apr 18, 2024

I was traveling south on [XXX] in Sarasota, FL, around 70-75 miles per hour and the engine shut down with warning. I coasted to a stop and was able to pull in the left emergency lane out of traffic. This could have been a tragic situation because cars were traveling 70 plus mph in that area. I tried to restart the car but all I got was a clicking sound from the starter, I also smelled a faint burning smell form the engine compartment. I had to have the vehicle towed into a local Toyota dealership and was advised several days later that the engine would have to be replaced as metal shavings were found inside of it. This truck was sold even while it was under recall over 1 year ago. That recall, for fuel tank issues STILL cannot be repaired as there are STILL not enough parts being distributed to dealers to fix it. Since that time, 2 additional recalls have been issued and dealers have no indication when they will be able to fix it. This vehicle should be treated as a lemon and taken off the road at Toyota's expense.

Feb 1, 2024

Vibration at lower speeds felt in steering, pedals, driver seat and front passenger seat. Posses danger to operator and other traffic as this vibration could be mistaken for departure warning. Notified Toyota cooperation but they seem eager to close the case.

Dec 22, 2023

A few complaints: #1: First is the infotainment system continuously requests a pin be entered. I would enter the pin, but the pin screen pops up again and again whenever the system is on. Had the dealership look at it, they stated the info system has the latest software and I was instructed to contact Toyota. After a 2+hour phone call, resetting app passwords a few times, resetting pin a few times, starting the truck a certain way, and other things I cannot completely remember, finally got it to accept the pin and stop pin request screen from popping up. That worked for about 1 week, and since then the screen pops up. I no longer try to enter the pin just hit the x button (kind of hard and dangerous entering 6 digit pin 30 times while going 75 on the highway). I would estimate screen popping up about every 1-2 minute. #2: Truck has 6,400 miles on it, brakes started squealing around 4k miles or less, getting progressively worse. I have tried washing brake dust away at car wash, no help. Sounds like when a car is getting to the last of the brakes. Are they that worn in 6k miles, I hope not, but how am I supposed to know when or if they need to be replaced? Very annoying, and dangerous since I can't rely on the brakes squealing to let me know need replaced. #3: 1 week ago after stopping at a red light, about 5 seconds passed when the truck jerked violently and slightly moved forward, all while I had the brake pedal pressed. It was so hard I was certain I had just got rear ended, but as I looked in the mirror preparing to get out of the truck, I saw the car behind me was barely approaching 20+ feet back. This is only time it has happened so far, but very concerning, will let the dealership know as well, but I can already hear their response "we weren't able to replicate the issue". Fuel line recall, still haven't fixed it (but will be setting appointment to take it in for all the described things, again, and hopefully get my 2nd key, been 9 months already).

Aug 10, 2023 Crash

Greetings all, This is not my vehicle. It is the vehicle that came to a sudden stop on the [XXX] and I hit. The driver apologized and told me his wife was fiddling with the drive shift lever and accidentally pressed the Park button. Indeed, the 2023 Toyota Tundra driver had been stepping on the brakes (lights on the outside of the flip gate) and switching to reverse (small white lights towards the middle of the bumper) the times I found myself behind it (I had managed to move to the right lane to avoid it a few miles earlier). How does an automatic transmission switch from Drive to Reverse and Park while the vehicle is moving (yes, by then we were going slowly because the driver kept stepping on the brake)? This model does not have mechanical interlocks in the shift lever. It counts on electronic controls. Could it be a burned element in a circuit board? Could it be a defective control card? or a design/programming flaw? Could it have the same parking brake problem that resulted in the recent recall of 870 thousand 2021-2023 Ford F-150s? Could it be something else? Please consider requiring mechanical interlocks for shift levers. Electronics are too sensitive to temperature and humidity and controller failures may become more frequent. Thank you. Truck has a frequent delay/ hesitation accelerating from a stop. Also has a situation where when accelerating from low speed (3-5 mph) the transmission feels as though it’s in a very high gear and is therefore sluggish. Both issues cause potential safety hazards in traffic. Truck also has harsh or jerky shifts in lower gears, (my best guess is gears 1-6 although it’s hard to tell because there is no gear display) which causes drive-ability problems. Local dealer told me my truck has the most up to date transmission programming therefore there is nothing they can do. Issues have been present since new.

Jun 9, 2023

Started Tundra pulled away from Garage concrete approach onto level stone driveway saw a large stone applied brake shifted into neutral vehicle stopped opened door released brake started to step out and Tundra began to move ahead stepped back and applied brake then put transmission into Park. On level driveway this truck will move forward in neutral.

Jun 5, 2023

The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated while driving out of the driveway, the contact shifted into neutral the vehicle started rolling forward. The contact was able to stop the vehicle. The dealer was contacted and stated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The failure mileage was 1,600.

Vehicle before 1200 miles had to have driveshaft, rear differential and transfer case replaced outright due to faulty parts from factory. Vehicle was cleared from lot multiple times with claims of "noisy" rear brakes despite consumer insistence vehicle had drivetrain issues. Vehicle ultimately received rebuild with factory OEM parts.

May 12, 2023

Vehicle started making loud clunking sounds at around 500 miles in rear of vehicle while moving at low speeds. Gradually became louder. Dealership claimed bad rotors on rear wheels causing this, turned rotors then eventually replaced. Found that driveshaft was "bad". Attempted to replace, and discovered rear differential damaged beyond repair. Vehicle has approximately 1100 miles on it total.

Throttle lag on acceleration from a stop. More than 2 second delay
