I WAS DRIVING MY CAR HEADED OUT OF TOWN AND NOTICED WHILE DRIVING MY CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATING ON ITS ON ALMOST CAUSING ME TO ALMOST LOSE CONTROL AND HIT THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME PUTTING ME AND MY FAMILY LIFE IN DANGER. WE ENDED UP TURNING AROUND TO HEAD BACK HOME AND ON THE WAY HOME WE STARTED SMELLING A STRONG GAS THE SMELL WAS SO LOUD WE ENDED UP PULLING OVER AND CALLING FOR A RIDE ALSO WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN TO LONG I NOTICED THE VEHICLE WOULD JUMP OUT OF DRIVING AND SWITCH INTO A DIFFERENT GEAR ON IT'S OWN CASING ME TO HAVE TO PUT MY EMERGENCY SIGNAL LIGHTS ON AND RESTART THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO GET IT BACK INTO DRIVING EVERYTIME THAT HAPPENED I WOULD NOTICE THAT THE D ON THE DASHBOARD WOULD BE GONE I ENDED UP TAKING MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP VW IN BRADENTON FL SO IT COULD BE LOOKED AT IT HAD RECALLS IT THEY ALSO LISTED A FEW OTHER THINGS THEY NEEDED TO DO SO AFTER THEM SO CALLED FIXING IT THE COST I HAD TO PAY WAS $1,555.88 SO AS I LEFT I NOTICED THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS BACK ON THE CAR WAS STILL DOING THE SAME THING LIKE IT NEVER WAS FIXED I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT BACK NEXT FRIDAY I ENDED UP STOPPING TO TO CHECK MY OLI LEVEL AND NOTICED THAT VW DEALER MECHANIC FORGOT TO PUT MY OIL BACK IN MY CAR AFTER FIXING A SMALL DRIP THAT THEY SAID WASNT THAT ARGENT TO FIX AND IN I DECIDED TO GO AHEAD AND LET THEM DO ANYWAYS BEFORE I DROPPED MY CAR OFF TO VW I HAD JUST GOT A OIL CHANGE 2 DAYS BEFORE AT THIS POINT I'M SO HURT I'M A PATIENT OF 1 WITHOUT A CAR NOW ALL BECAUSE THE VW FORGOT TO PUT MY OIL BACK INTO MY CAR WHEN THEY GOT DONE MY CAR IS DESTROYED MY $1,555.88 >IS GONE MY MOTOR HAD NO OIL IN AND ALL I GOT WAS A SORRY EVERYTHING I WORKED WORKED HARD FROM WAS TAKEN AWAY FROM ME ALL IN A BLINK OF A EYE😢

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 VOLKSWAGEN CC. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL SYSTEM FAILED AND CODE NUMBER: P2293 WAS LOCATED. THE DEALER ALSO INFORMED THE CONTACT OF TWO OPEN RECALLS: NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 17V509000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) AND 18V148000 (AIR BAGS). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT NOTIFY HIM ABOUT THE RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND PROMISED TO CALL THE CONTACT BACK. THE CONTACT WAS NOT CALLED BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 125,000.

I AM A U.S SERVICE MEMBER STATIONED OVERSEAS. I WILL BE SERVING OVERSEAS UNTIL NOVEMBER 2021. WHILE DRIVING ON THE AUTOBAHN WITH MY FAMILY, I GOT ON THE LEFT LANE TO PASS A VEHICLE NEXT TO ME. WHEN I HIT ON THE ACCELERATOR, OUT OF THE BLUE, MY VEHICLE SEEMS TO LOSE POWER AND THE EPC CODE ON MY DASHBOARD STARTED FLASHING. THE VEHICLE STARTED CHOKING AND SLOWED DOWN INSTEAD. IN CONFUSION AND THE LOUD HONKING FROM THE VEHICLES BEHIND AND NEXT TO ME, I TURNED MY HAZARD LIGHTS AND SWITCHED TO THE FAR RIGHT LANE. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE LOCAL VW DEALERSHIP IN GERMANY AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE FOR THE FUEL PUMP MODULE AND TAKATA AIRBAG BUT IT COULD ONLY BE DONE IN THE STATES. I CONTACTED OMSC AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND I WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT VW AMERICA. WHEN I CONTACTED VW AMERICA AND TOLD THEM ABOUT MY SITUATION, I WAS INFORMED I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 2021 WHEN I RETURN TO THE U.S. I AM WORRIED FOR MY SAFETY AND THAT OF MY FAMILY DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

AROUND 8/8/18 I POPPED MY HOOD TO GIVE A GUY A JUMPSTART & SMELLED GAS. THOUGHT THAT WAS AS ODD SO WITH THE HOOD OPENED I STARTED THE CAR. WHEN I RETURNED TO LOOK UNDER THE HOOD I NOTICED A STREAM OF GASOLINE COMING OUT OF THE TOP OF THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP (BOSCH MFG: 06H127025N SKU: 3649). THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THE RETAINING CLIP ON THESE FUEL PUMPS AT THE TOP OF THE CONNECTOR ARE KNOWN TO BE WEAK AND GIVE OUT CAUSING LARGE FUEL LEAKS. I'VE NOTICED WHILE RESEARCHING REPLACEMENT PARTS THAT SOME MANUFACTURERS USE BOLTS RATHER THAN A THIN RETAINER CLIP THAT GIVES OUT. AFTER FINDING THIS LEAK I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE GAS CONTINUES TO SPEW OUT EVEN AFTER THE CAR IS OFF, AND AT TIMES STOPS THEN STARTS AGAIN. WHICH COULD HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL FOR THE CONTROL MODULE THAT PLUGS INTO THIS PUMP & STATES IT COULD CONTINUOUSLY RUN, WHICH IS BAD ENOUGH BUT THEN ADD IN THAT THE PUMP THAT IS ALWAYS RUNNING IS KNOWN TO LEAK FUEL, VERY DANGEROUS.

FUEL PUMP MODULE AND TAKATA INFLATORS WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY ON THE WAY TO WORK MY CAR ENDED UP LOSING POWER AND COMPLETELY SHUTTING DOWN WHILE IN MOTION. THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER SHUT OFF ALL OF MY LIGHTS INSIDE AND OUT. AS SOON AS THIS HAPPENS I BEGIN TO PRESS ON MY BRAKES ONLY TO NOTICE THAT MY BRAKES FELT LIKE THEY WERE LACKING PRESSURE. THE LACK OF PRESSURE ON THE ROTARS MADE IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SLOW DOWN AND WITH THERE BEING NO POWER ALSO MADE IT DIFFICULT TO TURN THE WHEEL. I MERGED OVER TOWARD THE SHOULDER AND ENDING UP HITTING SOME TYPE OF WATER RUN OFF DIP THAT CAUSED MY CAR TO BOUNCE UP AND BLOW OUT MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE. THE BLOWOUT WAS WHAT HELPED ME SLOW MY CAR DOWN AND BRING IT TO A STOP. THAT CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE BODY OF MY CAR. AFTER STOPPING I TRIED CHECKING IF THE CAR WOULD TURN ON AND IT HAD NO RESPONSE. I THEN HAD IT TOWED AWAY. THAT WAS IN 2016 AND TO THIS DAY THE CAR HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET FIXED.

MY CAR WAS ON A LARGE BLVD WITH OTHER CARS IN MOTION WHEN ALL OF A SUDEN WITH OUT NOTICE JUST COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED IT HAPPENED MANY TIMES BEFORE. I TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND NO RESULTS I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I FEAR FOR MY LIFE I FEEL LIKE MY CAR IS A DEATH TRAP AND ONE DAY A BIG TRAGEDY CAN OCCUR DEW TO THE FACT THAT THE DEALERSHIP FAILS TO PROVIDE THE RIGHT SERVICE. IT'S AN ONGOING SITUATION FOR MANY YEARS WITH NO RESULTS. I RECEIVED A RECALL ON JUNE 2018 FOR A FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE, DEALERSHIP ASSURED ME THAT WAS THE REASON WHY THE VEHICLE WAS SHUTTING OFF IN MOTION THEY INSTALLED THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE ON JULY 2018 AND PROBLEM STILL OCCURRING.

FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE REPLACED AND RELOCATED ON JULY 18TH, 2018. HOWEVER, ON AUGUST 3RD, 2018, WHILE DRIVING ALONE IN THE #4 LANE OF THE FREEWAY, MY CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED. NO WARNING. NO CHUGGING. THE ENGINE JUST STOPPED. FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS ENOUGH TRAFFIC FOR THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME TO SLOW DOWN TO AVOID ME. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON WHILE DESPERATELY TRYING TO GET THE CAR TO TURN BACK ON. THANKFULLY IT DID WITHIN A MINUTE OR TWO GIVING ME JUST ENOUGH TIME TO CUT ACROSS THE HIGHWAY TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO INFORM THEM OF WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY WERE PERPLEXED AND TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO THE NEAREST VW DEALERSHIP IF THE ENGINE LIGHT WASN'T FLASHING, WHICH AT THE TIME IT WASN'T. THAT DEALERSHIP TURNED ME AWAY AND TOLD ME I SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE IT TO MY REGULAR DEALERSHIP. I WAS ONLY ABLE TO DRIVE ABOUT 10 MORE MILES BEFORE MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT START. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO MY REGULAR DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY BELIEVE IT MAY BE THE FUEL PUMP. SINCE I HAD THE RECALL COMPLETED PRIOR, I AM VERY FEARFUL THAT I WON'T BE SO LUCKY NEXT TIME. HAD TRAFFIC BEEN GOING AT THE REGULAR SPEED, I BELIEVE I WOULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DEAD. I NEED TO BE REASSURED THAT THESE RECALLS ARE DONE RIGHT AND TESTED TO ENSURE THERE AREN'T FAULTY PARTS AND THAT SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT.

THIS COULD RESULT IN THE FUEL PUMP RUNNING CONTINUOUSLY, RESULTING IN A DRAINED BATTERY AND/OR A NO START CONDITION, OR CAUSE A LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, WHICH COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH CAUSING INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY. RECALL STATUS RECALL INCOMPLETE REMEDY REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE AND RELOCATE IT WITHIN THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE WILL STALL OUT WHILE DRIVING OR PULLING OUT FROM A STOPPED POSITION. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AS IT DOES THIS ON A DAILY BASIS. MY DAUGHTER HAD IT STALL OUT ON THE INTERSTATE WHILE GIVING IT GAS TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE. SHE WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE SITTING THERE AND CALLED 911. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED BUT PUT HER IN A VERY DANGEROUS POSITION ON A BUSY INTERSTATE. THERE IS A RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP AND ELECTRICALLY THAT WAS ISSUED A YEAR AGO -- HOWEVER THERE ARE NO PARTS TO FIX IT THEY SAY. WE HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF ANY PARTS. I HAVE CALLED VW AND THEY SAID THAT IF I TOOK IT TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS THEY MIGHT COULD HELP WITH FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO CODE INDICATING THAT THE FUEL PUMP PROBLEM EXISTED. HOWEVER, I EXPLAINED THAT THE CAR IS DOING EXACTLY WHAT THE RECALL SAYS IS HAPPENING. I AM SO FRUSTRATED AND FEEL THAT VW IS PUTTING OUR FAMILY AT RISK ON A DAILY BASIS. WE NEED THIS PART AND REPAIR DONE ON OUR CAR IMMEDIATELY. WAITING OVER A YEAR WHEN A KNOWN PROBLEM EXIST IS JUST NOT RIGHT -- WHEN THIS CAN PUT A LIFE AT RISK. IT AFFECTS MY FRONT AIRBAGS, WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS OR MY PASSENGERS AND MYSELF. ALSO, I HAVE HAD TO TAKE THE CAR INTO THE SHOP FOR MULTIPLE OTHER REASONS CAUSED BY THE FUEL PUMP RECALL ON IT.

MY VEHICLE HAD COMLETE LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER WHILE IN MOTION, I LET IT ROLL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHUT IT OFF BY TAKING THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION. AFTER RESTARTING IT IT SEEMED TO RUN FINE, I WAS ONLY 5 MINUETS AWAY FROM HOME. SECOND INCIDENT HAPPENED ON MY WAY TO WORK IN MORNING RUSH HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY , SAME SITUATION ACCRUED. AFTER WAITING A MINUTE TO RESTART IT WORKED FINE. AFTER THIS HAPPENED ON A DAILY BASIS I TIMED HOW LONG MY CAR WOULD RUN BEFORE IT WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN, IT RAN FOR 14 MIN AND WOULD LOOSE ALL MOTIVE POWER, ALL OTHER POWER WORKED FINE,LIKE LIGHTS, RADIO AND SO ON. I THEN WENT ON THE VOLKSWAGEN WEBSITE AND RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM, COMING TO FIND OUT THERE IS A RECALL ON MY PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE WAS ALWAYS IN MOTION WHEN IT HAPPENED, ON HIGHWAY, SIDE ROADS. I WAS LUCKY NOT TO GET HIT OR COME TO A COMLETE STOP IN THE CENTER OF AN INTERSECTION!!! I TOOK MY CAR TO A VW REPEALER AND EXPLAINED MY FINDING AND GAVE THEM THE RECALL NUMBER 20AE, THEY FIXED IT BY REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP CONTROLL MODULE, DUE TO THE MODULE BEING BAD I ALSO HAD TO GET NEW FUEL PUMP.

MY VEHICLE HAD 2 RECALL NOT RESOLVED WITH VOLKSWAGEN. ONE OF THEM IS 20AE FUEL PUMP MODULE RECALL, WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSED LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER WHILE IN MOTION. I HAD THIS SYMPTOMS 5 TIMES IN A WEEK, WHEN I DRIVE ON THE STREET THE CAR JUST STALLED. VOLKSWAGEN'S DEALER TOLD ME THE REPAIR IS UNAVAILABLE. THEY HAVE NO ESTIMATION HOW LONG I NEED TO WAIT BEFORE THE REPAIR PARTS AVAILABLE. I DEFINITELY DON'T WANT TO TAKE THE RISK TO CONTINUE DRIVING MY CAR. BUT ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION IN NOT PROVIDED BY VOLKSWAGEN.

WHILE TRAVELLING ON THE HIGHWAY AT SPEED, MY ENGINE CUT OUT AND LEFT ME WITH NO POWER. I WAS TRAVELLING UP A HILL SO THERE WAS A DRAMATIC DECREASE IN SPEED, CAUSING OTHERS TO SWERVE AROUND ME AS I MADE MY WAY TO THE SHOULDER. FORTUNATELY NO ACCIDENT OCCURED, BUT I FEEL LIKE I WAS LUCKY. I WAS TOWED TO A VW DEALERSHIP, AND THEY INDICATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE HAD MELTED. NOT ONLY DID THIS CAUSE MY VEHICLE TO STALL, BUT BECAUSE THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE IS LOCATED ABOVE THE FUEL PUMP AND TANK, I WAS LUCKY THE VEHICLE DIDN'T CATCH ON FIRE. I LET THE DEALERSHIP KNOW THAT THE FPCM WAS UNDER A RECALL FOR BEHAVIOR LIKE I EXPERIENCED, BUT THEY DID NOT KNOW, AND FORCED ME TO PAY $998.25 TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE AND THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY, WHICH WAS DAMAGED WHEN THE FPCM MELTED. I'VE LOOKED UP THE TIMING ON THIS RECALL AND THEY SAY THAT A FIX HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED DUE TO A SHORTAGE OF PARTS OR UNKNOWN FIX. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE, AS THE FPCM THAT WAS PLACED IN MY VEHICLE WHEN IT WAS FIXED IS A NEW REVISION WHICH ISN'T COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. IT SEEMS THAT THEY DO HAVE THE PARTS, WHY HAS IT TAKEN OVER 8 MONTHS FROM THE RECALL NOTICE TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO MOVE IT TO A BETTER LOCATION? THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE EXCALATED AND A FIX NEEDS TO BE ISSUED PROMPTLY. NOT ONLY DO YOU HAVE AN ISSUE WITH VEHICLES STALLING ON THE ROAD, BUT THE POTENTIAL OF A VIOLENT FIRE IS SIGNIFICANTLY HIGH.

"TAKATA RECALL!" RECIEVED RECALL LETTER IN JAN. 2016. EVERYTIME I CALL DEALERSHIP IM TOLD PARTS ARE NOT IN. MY CAR ALREADY STOPPED RUNNING AND I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED INTO A MECHANIC WHERE HE KNEW THAT THE FUEL INJECTION ISSUE WAS A RECALL. I HAD TO PAY HIM $100.00 FOR TAKING MY CAR APART AND TELLING ME IT WAS A FAMILIAR ISSUE HE HAD WHEN WORKING ON ANOTHER VW..AND THAT I SHOULD CALL VW AND ASK IF THERE WAS A RECALL. OF COURSE, THERE WAS. I THEN HAD TO PAY FOR A 2ND TOW FROM THAT SHOP TO VW. THEY FIXED THAT RECALL..THAT I NEVER EVEN GOT A LETTER NOTIFYING ME OF THE RECALL. VW FIXED IT. YET NOW I AM STILL WAITING AS MANY OTHERS FOR THE PARTS TO COME IN SO MY CAR CAN BE REPAIRED WITH THIS AIRBAG ISSUE. AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED THIS CAR WAS MADE HORRIBLY UNSAFE AND ITS FALLING APART, ASIDE FROM THE OTHER WORK IVE PAID INTO HAVING DONE TO IT. AM I SUPPOSED TO KEEP PRAYING I DONT GET A SERIOUS INJURED OR FATAL ACCIDENT. AS, THERE HAS ALREADY BEEN BOTH SERIOUSLY INJURED AND FATAL ACCIDENTS AS A RESULT FROM THIS UNREPAIRED ISSUE..I DONT FEEL SAFE EVER GETTING IN MY CAR. IVE ALEADY BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT WITH HARD IMPACT AND IT DIDNT DEPLOY. I AM REQUESTING THAT THIS CAR BE BOUGHT BACK FROM ME, OR TAKEN BACK AND PUT ME IN A SAFE REPLACEMENT CAR OF NOTHING LESS THAN EQUAL VALUE. OR AT THE VERY LEAST PUT ME IN A RENTAL CAR AT YOUR EXPENSE . THIS IS A MATTER THAT IF NOT RESOLVED QUICK WILL BE REVIEWED OVER BY SOMEONE THAT CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. LIVES DO MATTER!

BATTERY DIED AND SINCE THEN MY PARKING BRAKE HAS MALFUNCTIONED, STALLING WHILE DRIVING, AND CAR SEEMED TO NOT BE CHANGING GEARS, LEFT ME STRANDED. I DIDN'T EVEN SEE THIS OMING BECAUSE I HAD. O SIGNS OF TROUBLE, STARTED UP AND RAN WELL UNTIL HOT THEN WOULD STALL OUT, WOULD START UP, THEN SEEMED LIKE IT WAS SWITCHING GEARS ON ITS OWN. THIS WOULD HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS, AT STOP LIGHTS AND EVEN AT 65 MPH ON FREEWAY.
