Vehicle stalls when accelerating or traveling at high rates of speed and it will lose power. It bumps and jolts to life. My RPM shoots up and and down. It lags to accelerate when the gas pedal is pressed to accelerate it suddenly jolts. Battery, Epc light, as well as engine light come on immediately.
I'm part of a class action lawsuit where I was denied after sending all of the pertinent information the attorney's requested. I have all documentation of the correspondence which was requested with contact information to the Volkswagen company and other recipients. The class action is "Engine Water Pump Settlement". The water pump was faulty in this vehicle and many others of this model. It was deemed a safety concern by the federal government of the United States. This has been in progress since 2019.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN, TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER, AND ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND AGREED TO PARTIALLY COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 97,000.

DRIVING A 2012 VW CC WITH 57,000 MILES. DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH AND ATTEMPTED TO PASS A SLOW MOVING TRUCK. ACCELERATED QUICKLY AND MID PASS THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND IMMEDIATELY WENT INTO "LIMP MODE" WITH ECR LIGHT ACTIVATED ON THE DASH. PULLED OVER SAFELY AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. AFTER COLLECTING MYSELF, I STARTED ENGINE TO DRIVE OFF HIGHWAY. CAR WOULD NOT START. I SAT A FEW MOMENTS IN PANIC AND TRIED AGAIN. THE CAR STARTED AND I DROVE WITH ECR LIGHT ON TO NEXT EXIT. THE CAR WAS SLUGGISH WITH LITTLE ACCELERATION. PULLED TO GAS STATION AND TURNED OFF AGAIN. RESTARTED AND THE ENGINE RPMS RAN HIGHER IN IDLE SO I TURNED OFF THE CAR AGAIN. LET IT SIT AND RESTARTED AND DROVE TO AUTO ZONE WHERE THEY DID A CODE TESTER AND WAS TOLD P0229 UNDERBOOST TURBOCHARGER WAS ISSUE. AUTO ZONE EMPLOYEE SAID HE HAD SEEN IT MANY TIMES AND ITS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH 2.0 TURBO ENGINES IN VW AND AUDI. THE REPORT IS ATTACHED. AUTO ZONE RESET THE ECR LIGHT AND THE CAR WAS DRIVEN TO FINAL DESTINATION INTO ARIZONA WITH NO ADDITIONAL ISSUES YET. THE 2.0T TSI ENGINE WAS MADE WITH A FAULTY TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER WHICH WILL FAIL AND CAUSE THE TIMING CHAIN TO BREAK CAUSING IMMEDIATE CATASTROPHIC ENGINE DAMAGE PUTTING THE DRIVER AND OCCUPANTS IN DANGER BECAUSE OF LOSS OF POWER AND DIFFICULTY STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS RECENTLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V509000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.

THE VEHICLE IN QUESTION HAS HAD OVER TWO YEARS OF UNRESOLVED ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPEATEDLY RETURN TO THE DEALERSHIP ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT WHAT IT WAS THERE FOR NOT TO BE THE PROBLEM BUT OTHER THINGS HAVE BEEN FOUND AND THATS THE PROBLEM. AFTER PAYING FOR THAT REPAIR ONLY TO BRING IT BACK FOR THE ORIGINAL COMPLAINT. THIS IS THE PATTERN WITH THE ENGINE LEAKING OIL AND THE LEAK NEVER FOUND TO THE CAR NOT GOING ABOVE 10 MPH. WTHIN THE LAST 5 MONTHS THE CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR THE SAME ISSUE OF NO POWER AND RATTLING SHAKING TRANSMISSION. THREE TO FOUR WEEKS AT A TIME. IN THE PAST THE CAR HAS BEEN RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP ONCE A WEEK FOR THE OIL TO BE CHECK AND FILLED TO SPECS . ALSO WITHIN THE PAST TWO YEARS THE ENTIRE ENGINE HAS BEEN WORKED ON BY THE DEALERSHIP AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS BLOWN UP BY A TECHNICIAN BEING CARELESS IN MAKING A REPAIR. IN REPAIR ORDERS I HAVE THE MAJOR WORK THAT HAS BEEN DONE ON THIS VEHICLE.IN TALKING TO THE DEALERSHIP AND VOLKSWAGEN THE ONLY THING THATS BEING SAID THAT THE CAR IS TOO FAR OUT OF WARRANTY. THE ISSUE THAT GENERATES THIS COMPLAINT IS THAT NOW VOLKSWAGEN DEALERSHIP HAS THE CAR AND IT NEEDS A ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION AND WANTS BETWEEN $8,000-$11,000. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM BECAUSE OF THE ISSUE THAT HAVE BEEN HAVING OVER THE PERIOD OF TIME. THE CONSUMER SHOULD NOT BE CARRYING THE BURDEN OF THIS TYPE OF REPAIR BECAUSE OF THE HISTORY OF THE CARS IN QUESTION (WHICH IS THE VOLKSWAGEN 2012 CC). ALL OF THE PROBLEMS HAVE OCCURRED WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. THE EVENTS WITH THIS CAR STARTED IN THE YEAR 2016 AND THE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN CONSTANT EVRY SINCE UP UNTIL THIS CURRENT DATE.

THIS IS HAPPENING NOW AFTER I HAD TO FIGURE OUT THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED...BEFORE THERE WAS A RECALLED ISSUED AT MY OWN EXPENSE. CAR RAN FINE EARLIER TODAY, THEN WHEN TRYING TO LEAVE MY HOUSE, TOOK AN EXTENDED TIME TO START. SHUT IT OFF TO SEE IF IT WAS A GLITCH, AND DIDN'T START AT ALL.

I BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR MY DAUGHTER WHO WILL BE DRIVING BACK AND FORTH TO COLLEGE AND I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT HER SAFETY IF VW IS USING INADEQUATE PARTS IN THEIR CARS. ALSO, REPAIR COSTS ARE UNIMAGINABLE, $1000, ONLY TO BE REPLACED WITH THE SAME PLASTIC PART. I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE ONE OF THE TAIL LIGHT CASINGS BECAUSE IT TOO WAS MADE OF PLASTIC AND THE TAIL LIGHT LAMP BURNED INTO THE PLASTIC AND CEASED TO LIGHT. WE HAVE ALSO HAD THIS CAR IN FOR TWO DIFFERENT PARTS RECALLS, AIRBAG X 2, AND FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE.

AFTER THEN, THEY SAID THERE WERE LOUD NOISE FROM THE ENGINE AND THEN ENGINE DIED. MY CAR TOWED TO NEARBY VW DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP DID DIAGNOSTICS TEST AND SAID IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACE AN ENGINE.

AFTER THEY FIXED THE PART MY CAR STARTED TO SMELL LIKE GASOLINE AND WAS TOO SCARED TO DRIVE IT.THIS COULD HAVE BE AVOIDED IF THEY WOULD HAVE NOT HAD THIS RECALL.

A FEW HOURS LATER WHEN I TRIED TO START THE CAR, IT WOULD NOT TURN ON. THE ENGINE WOULD CRANK VERY LOUDLY BUT WOULD NEVER TURN OVER. I ASSUMED IT MIGHT BE THE OIL SO I CHANGED IT, FILLED IT WITH GAS SINCE IT WAS A BIT ON THE LOW SIDE, AND FINALLY HAD A NEIGHBOR CHARGE THE BATTERY WITH THEIRS IN CASE IT MIGHT BE THE BATTERY. FROM FEAR THAT I MIGHT FURTHER DAMAGE THE ENGINE I WAITED A WHILE BEFORE TRYING AGAIN. WHEN I DID NOTHING HAD CHANGED. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO CALL A MECHANIC AND AFTER HIM HAVING NOT A CLUE WHAT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM I RESORTED TO HAVING THE CAR TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP 2 HOURS AWAY IN SANTA MONICA, CA. ONE DAY LATER, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE VW DEALERSHIP INFORMING ME THAT MY TIMING CHAIN HAD UNEXPECTEDLY BROKEN AND FURTHER DAMAGED A FEW VALVES/PISTONS/ETC. WHEN I ASKED HOW IT MIGHT'VE HAPPENED THEY DID NOT HAVE AN ANSWER FOR ME BUT INSTEAD TOLD ME IT WOULD COST ME UPWARDS OF $5,000 TO EVEN BEGIN REPARATIONS. AFTER A BIT OF MY OWN RESEARCH ONLINE I DISCOVERED THAT TIMING CHAINS SHOULD USUALLY LAST THE LIFE OF THE CAR AND NEVER BREAK THAT SOON. I ALSO READ THAT VW HAS BEEN SOMEWHAT KNOWN TO HAVE FAULTY TIMING CHAINS AND THAT MY BEST BET WAS TO FILE SOME SORT OF COMPLAINT. I WAS NEVER INFORMED OF HAVING TO GET THE TIMING CHAIN CHECKED NOR WAS I WAS THAT SUCH AN INCIDENT COULD OCCUR. AS A WAY OF HOPEFULLY NOT HAVING TO SPEND NEARLY WHAT THE CAR IS WORTH FOR A DAMAGE NOT INCURRED BY MYSELF I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT.

BOTH OF THE ISSUES COULD HAVE CAUSED A FATALITY OR MULTIPLE FATALITIES WHEN A 2012 VW CC LUXURY JUST STOPS WITH NO WARNING. I HAVE CALLED VW CORPORATE AND OF COURSE THEY STATED THEY CANNOT HELP ME SINCE THIS REPAIR IS NOT A RECALL ITEM: HOWEVER, I SEE TONS OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE 2.0 ENGINE IN MY CAR MANUFACTURED BY VW. THIS MATTER NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY AND NOT IGNORED. VW NEEDS TO COVER MY ENGINE COST AT 100% THEY KNOW IT IS FAULTY AND TO COMPLETELY IGNORE ALL THE COMPLAINTS BEFORE MINE IS ASININE.

HOWEVER, WHEN HE WENT TO LEAVE LATER THAT AFTERNOON MY CAR WOULDN'T NOT START BUT STILL HAD POWER TO EVERYTHING (RADIO, WINDOWS, DOOR LOCKS, SEATS, ETC.). WE HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CAR SUFFERED "CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE" AT NO FAULT OF MY OWN. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE DID NOT FAIL DUE TO NEGLECT. SOMETHING INSIDE THE ENGINE BROKE - WE BELIEVE IT WAS THE TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER. MY MECHANIC HAS QUOTED ME ON 4/27/18 WITH A QUOTE OF ALMOST $10,000 TO REPLACE MY ENGINE. THIS QUOTE IS FOR A USED ENGINE WITH 70,000 MILES AND WHO'S TO SAY THAT IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN. MY CURRENT ENGINE HAS ROUGHLY 86,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE CONTACTED VW AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR AS IT'S OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY OF THE DRIVETRAIN. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH IT SEEMS THAT VW KNOWS ABOUT THIS SITUATION AND IS STILL NOT WILLING TO HELP.

HOWEVER, THE ENGINE DIED. HE WAS NOT ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND HAD TO PUSH THE CAR OUT OF THE ROADWAY INTO A NEARBY RESTAURANT PARKING LOT. HE CALLED ME AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED. WE LEFT THE CAR PARKED OVERNIGHT AND HAD TO CAR TOWED TO OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING. THE DEALERSHIP CALLED ME ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON TO INFORM ME THAT THE TIMING CHAIN BROKE IN THE ENGINE AND THE ENGINE IS SHOT. MY VOLKSWAGEN CC HAS APPROXIMATELY 146,500 MILES ON IT. I HAVE ALWAYS BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE TO BOARDMAN VOLKSWAGEN AND I EVEN ASKED THE SERVICE ADVISOR ONE TIME IF THE "TIMING BELT" NEEDED REPLACED ON THAT CAR BECAUSE THEY HAD A COUPON THAT THEY WOULD HANG ON THE REARVIEW MIRROR FOR A 15% OFF DISCOUNT. A SERVICE TECHNICIAN WAS WALKING THROUGH THE SERVICE DESK AREA WHEN I ASKED THE SERVICE ADVISOR ABOUT THE TIMING BELT, AND THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN SAID "YOU OWN THE VOLKSWAGEN CC THAT I JUST DID THE OIL CHANGE ON, CORRECT?." I SAID YES, AND HE SAID "YOU HAVE A TIMING CHAIN IN THAT CAR, SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO EVER CHANGE THE BELT, IT DOESN'T HAVE A TIMING BELT". I SAID OK AND THOUGHT THAT I WAS GOOD. WELL, AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH NOW AFTER MY ENGINE FAILURE, IT SEEMS THAT A LOT OF VOLKSWAGEN OWNERS WITH 2.0 LITER ENGINES HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM AS I DO. I FOUND ONLINE THAT THE TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER SEEMS TO BE FAULTY IN MANY CASES AND VOLKSWAGEN DOES NOT WANT TO ISSUE A RECALL BECAUSE IT WOULD BE TOO COSTLY. I NOW HAVE TO PAY ANYWHERE FROM $4000 TO $6000 FOR MY ENGINE TO BE REPLACED. I DON'T BELIEVE THAT A CHAIN IN THE ENGINE SHOULD BREAK UNLESS IT WAS DEFECTIVE. WE ARE STILL IN THE PROCESS OF HAVING IT FULLY DIAGNOSED, AND A PRICE ESTIMATE FOR REPAIRS. I HAVE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH WHICH INDICATES THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM IN VOLKSWAGEN MODELS LIKE MINE. VOLKSWAGEN IS ALSO AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING FURTHER ABOUT IT.

I ATTEMPTED TO JUMP MY CAR BUT IT DID NOT WORK. I REPLACED THE BATTERY ON 10/9/17 AND IT APPEARED TO SOLVE THE ISSUE. ON 10/29/17 I DROVE MY CAR UP NORTH TO PAYSON. IT RAN COMPLETELY FINE UNTIL I SHUT IT OFF TO GO TO THE CREEK. WHEN I CAME BACK TO MY CAR IT WOULD NOT TURN OVER AGAIN. I BOUGHT A BATTERY AND REPLACED IT YET AGAIN. THIS TIME THE BATTERY DID NOT HELP GET THE CAR TO TURN OVER THE ONLY THING THAT SHOWED UP WAS AN EPC LIGHT. I LEFT THE CAR OVER NIGHT AND CAME BACK TO IT THE NEXT DAY IT STARTED UP JUST FINE WITH NO EPC LIGHT. I TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSIS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. I PICKED MY CAR UP ON OCT 30TH. IT RAN FINE WITH NO HESITATION UP UNTIL THE MORNING OF 11/10/17. WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY MY CAR LOST POWER AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. MY EPC LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AND BATTERY LIGHT ALL CAME ON. THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN OVER AGAIN. I REACHED OUT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME TO CONTACT CUSTOMER CARE THROUGH VOLKSWAGEN. WHEN I REACHED OUT TO CUSTOMER CARE ALL THEY TOLD ME WAS TO GO BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THAT THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING FOR ME BECAUSE THE RECALL IS NOT COMPLETE. THEY HAVE NO OFFER OF A LOANER CAR OR ANYTHING WHILE I WAIT FOR THEM TO FIX THE ISSUE. SO I'M LEFT WITH A CAR THAT RANDOMLY SHUTS DOWN AND LOSES POWER FROM TIME TO TIME. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

ALTHOUGH, IN 2011 THEY HAD A WARRANTY EXTENSION ON THIS VEHICLE FOR THE FUEL INJECTORS THEY REFUSED TO COVER THE COST FOR ME. NOW, I AM TOLD THE FOLLOWING BY TREND MOTORS IN DENVILLE NEW JERSEY - THE PLACE I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO FOR SERVICE, THAT I NEED A NEW ENGINE. THE FOLLOWING ARE TREND MOTORS IN DENVILLE'S EXACT WORDS FROM SERVICE WRITE-UP: "CHECK OIL PRESSURE:PRESSURE AT IDLE IS OK. ROAD TEST AND RECHECK WARM, OK. CHECK OIL PRESSURE AT 1,700 RPMS'***FAILED*** AZ REMOVE TOP END AND INSPECT. FOUND EVIDENCE OF LACK OF LUBRICATION AT CAM SHAFT. THIS IS CAUSING LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE" IT HAS ONLY BEEN 1800 MILES SINCE MY LAST VISIT SO I ASKED TREND MOTORS WHY THIS WAS NOT CAUGHT WITH MACHINERY TO INDICATE A CODE THAT THIS ISSUE WAS GOING ON AND THEY SAID A CODE WOULD NOT POP UP ON THIS TYPE OF ISSUE. BASICALLY, I WAS TOLD THE ENGINE OIL WAS LEAKING IN TO THE ENGINE, SO THEY THOUGHT IT WAS THE OIL PAN BUT IT WASN'T THE OIL PAN. I HAD THE CAR TOWED IN TO TREND MOTORS IN DENVILLE BECAUSE AN OIL CAN LIGHT APPEARED WHEN I WAS TAKING IT IN TO THEM BECAUSE AN ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON TOO. THIS SAME CAR ALSO HAD A HORN ISSUE WHERE THE HORN STOPPING WORKING. I CALLED VOLKSWAGEN CUSTOMER SERVICE TO REQUEST A GOOD FAITH PAYMENT AND I AM WAITING FOR A CALL BACK. VOLKSWAGEN SAID THERE CARS HAVE LONGEVITY BUT IT IS CLEAR THEY ARE NOT AS RELIABLE AS OTHER CARS. I HAVE A TOYOTA PRIUS WITH 250K MILES AND THE LARGEST COST I RECEIVED ON MY TOYOTA WAS WHEN I REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES AT ONCE. IF VOLKSWAGEN CAN'T GO MUCH PAST THE WARRANTY THEY SHOULD BE MADE TO SAY THIS ON THEIR MONRONEY LABEL.

SHOP INFORMED ME THAT ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE COMPLETELY TORN APART TO SEE ALL THE DAMAGE THAT'S BEEN DONE BUT WOULD BE CHEAPER TO JUST REPLACE WITH USED ENGINE. I HAVE NO GOOD OPTIONS SINCE $6K IS STILL OWED ON VEHICLE, NO WARRANTY AND NO MEANS OF REPLACING MOTOR. VW IS AWARE OF ISSUE. SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED FOR THIS SAME ISSUE AND IT APPEARS TO BE COMMON ENOUGH TO HAVE MADE SEVERAL ONLINE FORUMS AND AFTERMARKET COMPANIES TO SELL UPGRADED PREVENTATIVE REPLACEMENT PART.

TWO DAYS AFTER RETURNING FROM A TRIP WITH NO ISSUES. I WENT TO START MY CAR AND IT WOULD CRANK BUT NOT FIRE. I HAD IT TOWED TO A VW DEALER WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO DO A MULTIPOINT DIAGNOSTIC. I WAS CALLED AND TOLD THE ENGINE LOST COMPRESSION AND THE TIMING CHAIN STRETCHED CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE CYLINDER HEAD. THE ESTIMATE WAS OVER $7000. I CALLED AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS SURPRISED TO HEAR OF THE TIMING CHAIN FAILURE WITH THAT LOW OF MILEAGE, 73,000. HE CALLED BACK A FEW MIN LATER AND TOLD ME OF A TSB ON THE TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER AND ALSO THAT THERE WERE LAWSUITS FOR THIS EXACT THING. UPON DOING RESEARCH I FOUND MULTIPLE LAWSUITS, A SETTLEMENT IN 2014 IN WHICH THEY PAID ALL REPAIR COSTS AND REIMBURSEMENTS. THE LAWSUIT INDICATED THAT VW HAS KNOWN ABOUT A DEFECTIVE TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER FOR YEARS AND HAVE NOT PUT OUT A RECALL, NOR EVEN LET THEIR CUSTOMERS KNOW OF THIS POTENTIAL. THEY DO HAVE A REPLACEMENT TENSIONER AVAILABLE WHICH DOES INDICATE THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. I ASKED THE DEALER TECH HOW HE DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND SAID HE LISTENED WHEN HE WENT TO START AND PUT A SCOPE IN THE OIL DIP. WITH THAT SMALL AMOUNT OF TIME, HE CAME UP WITH A STRETCHED TIMING CHAIN AND DAMAGED HEAD CYLINDER, AND A MAJOR REPAIR COST. I SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER AND ASKED ABOUT THE DEFECTIVE TENSIONER AND HE DENIED ANY KNOWLEDGE, WHICH I FIND HIGHLY UNLIKELY, DUE TO THE LENGTH OF TIME THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON. I HAVE A CALL INTO VW CUSTOMER CARE ASKING FOR THEM TO FIX IT AT NO COST DUE THE DEFECTIVE PART. THIS IS A VERY LARGE ISSUE THAT CAN RESULT IN NOT ONLY A HIGH COST, MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE, BUT COULD ALSO RESULT IN ENGINE POWER, STEERING AND BRAKE CAPACITY WHICH IS A CATASTROPHIC SAFETY ISSUE. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE COMMUNICATED, AND SHOULD BE FIXED BY VW PRIOR TO ANY RESULTING DAMAGE, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY ANY INJURY OR LOSS OF LIFE.

2012 VW CC WITH 72K. ALWAYS MAINTAINED AT THE DEALERSHIP AND OIL CHANGE WAS DONE EVERY 5-6K ONLY AT VW DEALER. ISSUE STARED T TRAFFIC LIGHTS, CAR STOPPED AND WHEN STARTED IT WAS RUNNING VERY ROUGH. SOUNDED LIKE RUNNING ON 2-3 CYLINDERS. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEANSHIP, FOUND 8 CODES, MOSTLY MISFIRES ON ALL 4 CYLINDER AND ALSO ISSUE WITH CAMSHAFT TIMING. DEALER TOLD THAT THEY NEED TO TAKE THE ENGINE APART TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE, COST $1200 JUST FOR DIAGNOSES. I CALLED VW AMERICA THEY SUGGESTED TO TAKE THE ENGINE APART AND BASED ON THE PROBLEM THEY WILL CONDITIONER IF THEY WILL AGREE TO HELP. DEALER PROCEED WITH DIAGNOSTICS AND FOUND THE ISSUE. BROKEN BRACKET SCREEN OF PART NUMBER 06H-103-144-J BRACKET. THE MISSING SCREEN WAS NOT FOUND AT ALL AND THIS PART FAILURE CAUSED MORE DAMAGE SO I ALSO NEEDED REPLACEMENT OF THE CAMSHAFT PART #06-H109021K, VALVE AND MANY OTHER PARTS. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PICTURES OF THE DAMAGED PARTS (INTERNAL ENGINE PARTS) AND INVOICE OF WHAT WAS REPLACED. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT AUDI WITH SAME ENGINES USED EXACTLY THE SAME PART NUMBER THAT FAILED IN MY VEHICLE AND THEY HAD ISSUED RECALL CAMPAIGN 15D6. VW NOT WILLING TO HELP OR COVER THE COST WITH EXPLANATION THAT VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY EVEN AUDI USES SAME ENGINE AND THEY ARE SAME COMPANY. I DO HAVE THE OLD PARTS WITH ME AND I SEE THAT THE PART WHICH WAS ORIGINALLY INSTALLED IN MY VEHICLE IS 06H-103-166-G AND THE REPLACEMENT PART BASED ON THE INVOICE IS 06H-103-144-J, THE ONE THAT IS PART OF THE AUDI RECALL. I WAS LUCKY THAT THE ISSUE HAPPENED AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS. I WORKED WITH REGIONAL CASE MANAGER AND HER SUPERVISOR BUT THEY WERE NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING EVEN WHEN I MENTIONED THE AUDI RECALL. NOW THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON, NOW WARRANTY HAS ENDED. SEVERAL CYLINDERS MISFIRING. I WANT STOHLMAN TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. MY TIRE PRESSURE SCREEN NEVER READ THE SAME NUMBER SINCE PURCHASE, I HAD SPOKEN ABOUT THIS TOO BUT WAS ALWAYS TOLD THAT THE HEATING AND COOLING OFF OF THE TIRES WILL GIVE DIFFERENT READINGS. THE CAR HAS TO RETURNED LESS THAN A MONTH OF PURCHASE BECAUSE OF A CLUNKING SOUND. THEY CLAIMED THAT THEY DID THE INSPECTION THE QUALIFY THE CAR AS CERTIFICATED, I TRULY DO NOT BELIEVE IT.
