The contact attempted to shift into another gear however, the vehicle failed to respond. The driver pulled to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several minutes, and the vehicle drove as intended. The vehicle was driven to a nearby dealer, and the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the transmission was previously replaced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V866000 (Power Train) in 2023; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the transmission and hybrid warning lights and several other warning lights were illuminated. The contact pulled over and turned the vehicle off. The contact turned the vehicle on and was able to place the vehicle into drive (D) and began to move forward however, he observed that the check transmission light was blinking. The contact stopped the vehicle shifted into park (P), then shifted into reverse (R) however, the vehicle failed to respond while shifting through PRNDL. The contact turned the vehicle off and had the vehicle towed to a local dealer. The local dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the mechatronic unit and transmission needed to be replaced. The contact stated that when he purchased the vehicle new in August of 2013, the vehicle Owner’s Manual advised not to change the transmission fluid on all models of the Jetta hybrid 2013-2016. Then in 2015, the contact received a notice advising to change the transmission fluid after 40,000 miles; however, in 2017 the contact received another notice advising not to change the transmission fluid. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that they could not assist since the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V866000 (Power Train). THE TRANSMISSION WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED IN DECEMBER 2019. THE MECHATRONIC ACCUMULATOR HOUSING WAS FAULTY CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BECOME STUCK IN PARK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED.

THE CONTACT LATER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO COPELAND VOLKSWAGEN OF BROCKTON (122 LIBERTY ST, BROCKTON, MA 02301, (508) 500-8768) WHERE THE COMPUTER WAS RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO COPELAND VOLKSWAGEN WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND THERE WAS POSSIBLE ELECTRIC MOTOR FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO COPELAND VOLKSWAGEN FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.

I AM A 74 YEAR OLD RETIRED MAN, THE OWNER OF A 2013 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA HYBRID WITH 34,000 MILES PURCHASED NEW IN NOVEMBER 2013. THE CHECK-ENGINE LIGHT LIT UP ON MY DASHBOARD LAST MONTH AND I PROMPTLY BROUGHT THE CAR TO MY LOCAL VW DEALER. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE CLUTCH WAS SLIPPING IN FIRST GEAR (THIS IS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) AND THAT THE APPROPRIATE REPAIR WAS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION. THE DEALER CONTACTED VOLKSWAGEN AND WAS INFORMED THAT AS THE CAR WAS 7 MONTHS BEYOND THE 5 YEAR 50,000 MILE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COSTS OF TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. NO CAR, BY ANY MANUFACTURER, SHOULD HAVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT 34,000 MILES REGARDLESS HOW OLD THE CAR MAY BE. FURTHERMORE, THE DEALER CONFIRMS THAT HE HAS SEEN MULTIPLE JETTA HYBRIDS WITH THE IDENTICAL TRANSMISSION PROBLEM THAT HE HAS REPLACED, MOST OCCURRING WITHIN THE WARRANTY PERIOD. I DROVE HOME FROM WORK AND THE CAR WAS PERFECTLY FINE. I PULLED INTO MY GARAGE PARKED AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. THE NEXT MORNING I GOT INTO MY CAR TO GO TO WORK. I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND PUT IT IN REVERSE AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE AFTER I LET OFF THE BRAKE. SO I SHIFTED THE CAR BACK INTO PARK AND AS SOON AS I LET OFF THE BRAKE THE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY JERKED FORWARD AND THEN THE ENTIRE CAR AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT OFF.

DIAGNOSTIC TEST BY DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED . CAR IS ONLY HAS 82000 MILES, DRIVEN IN NORMAL CONDITIONS. FOUND RECALL RELATED TO TRANSMISSION BUT TOLD BY VW THAT MY CAR VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL.

TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY SAID THE TRANSMISSION IS OUT. CAR IS ONLY AT 86000 MILES DRIVEN IN NORMAL CONDITIONS. SEEING RECALLS OF VEHICLE RELATED TO TRANSMISSION BUT MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. ADDITIONAL RECALLS RELATED TO DQ200 TRANSMISSION IN OTHER COUNTRIES THAT HAVE RESULTED IN WARRANTY EXTENSIONS. VW OF AMERICA IS YET TO RESPOND TO INQUIRY ON WHY VW HAS EXTENDED POWERTRAIN WARRANTY RELATED TO DQ200 TRANSMISSION IN OTHER COUNTRIES WITH PRODUCTION DATES THROUGH NOVEMBER 2013 BUT NOT THE UNITED STATES.

VOLKSWAGEN SERVICE TECHNICIAN STATES FAILURE AS "(VERIFIED TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ENGAGE REVERSE OR DRIVE. 3 FAULTS IN TRANSMISSION, P117B, P0841 AND P189C. ALL RELATED TO TRANSMISSION FLUID PRESSURE LOSS. FRONT MECHATRONICS COVER BENT OUT AT TOP AND MASSIVE FLUID LOSS. INTERNAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE)" VOLKSWAGEN PERFORMED A RECALL SERVICE ON THIS UNIT IN 2014 IN ORDER TO PREVENT THIS FAILURE, YET THE FAILURE HAPPENED REGARDLESS. I TOWED IT TO NEAREST VW DEALERSHIP WHICH WAS 4 HOURS AWAY AND THEY SAID I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION AND EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL AS OTHER VEHICLES WITH RECALL PROBLEM, VOLKSWAGEN SAYS MY VIN DOES NOT FALL UNDER THE RECALL AND I HAVE TO PAY $7295 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. MY CAR ONLY HAS 67,000 MILES ON IT, AND THE WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THE PROBLEM.

IDLED IN LEFT LANE, WAITING FOR GREEN LIGHT TO MAKE LEFT. WHEN LIGHT TURNED GREEN, ATTEMPTED TO MOVE FORWARD. THE CAR TO LURCHED VIOLENTLY AND STALLED IN THE LANE OF TRAFFIC. THE CAR LURCHED SO STRONGLY THAT WHEN IT RECOVERED, MY REAR BUMPER HIT THE FRONT LICENSE PLATE OF THE CAR BEHIND ME BENDING THEIR LICENSE PLATE. ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ON DASH LIT UP LIKE THE VEGAS STRIP. DESPITE ALL EFFORTS, COULD NOT GET CAR TO RESTART. THEN CAR WENT DASH WENT DARK. STILL COULD NOT GET CAR TO RESTART. TRIED TO GET CAR TO RESTART FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. CAR FINALLY RESTARTED AND I WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE LEFT TURN AND PARK VEHICLE IN PARKING LOT AT MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT. THERE I EXCHANGED INFORMATION WITH THE OTHER DRIVER REGARDING DAMAGE TO OTHER VEHICLE. WENT TO WORK ALL DAY, AND WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR WITH NO ISSUES AT THE END OF THE WORK DAY. DROVE CAR STRAIGHT TO VW. AFTER 4 DAYS AT VW, VW CONCLUDES THAT THE DUAL CLUTCH MODERATOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR A COST OF $6000. MANY 2013 JETTA HYBRIDS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR TRANSMISSION CONCERNS INCLUDING ISSUES WHERE THE CAR IS UNABLE TO HANDLE THE TRANSITION BETWEEN GAS AND ELECTRIC HOWEVER THIS VIN IS NOT INCLUDED. CAR IS NOT SAFE. DRIVER DOES NOT RETAIN CONTROL OF VEHICLE'S MOVEMENTS. CAR'S MOVEMENTS ARE UNPREDICTABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED ON A CITY STREET AND WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WAS STEPPED ON. THERE WAS NO FAILURE LIGHTS OR INDICATION THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN PARK AND THEN BACK INTO DRIVE WITH NO CHANGE. WE TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED THE CAR. THE TRANSMISSION DID ENGAGE AND WE WERE ABLE TO GET HOME BUT THERE WAS A LOT OF JERKING. ONCE THE CAR WAS HOME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WE WERE NO LONGER ABLE TO START IT. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE VW DEALER AND WE WERE TOLD THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED EVEN THOUGH IT ONLY HAS 86,000 MILES. VW HAS SAID ITS OUT OF WARRANTY AND WILL NOT BE PAID FOR. THE FAILURE, AS DESCRIBED BY THE MECHANIC COULD BE DO TO THE CORROSIVE TRANSMISSION FLUID THAT OTHER CARS WERE RECALLED FOR. NOT SURE WHY OUR VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.

ONLINE RESEARCH HAS SHOW THAT THIS HAPPENS TO ALMOST ALL OF THE 2013 JETTA HYBRIDS BUT NO ADDITIONAL RECALL HAS BEEN MADE TO FIX THIS ISSUE.

DURING DRIVING CONDITIONS THE VEHICLE STALLS THEN SPEEDS UP ALMOST CAUSING A CRASH INTO THE CAR AHEAD OF ME. SOMETIMES WHEN BRAKING, THE VEHICLE SURGES WHILE MY FOOT IS ON THE BRAKE. THE VW DEALER DIAGNOSED IT AS CORROSION OF THE CONTROL MODULE WITHIN THE GEARBOX. THIS WAS THE EXACT PROBLEM THE CAR WAS RECALLED FOR UNDER VW RECALL NUMBER 34F6/4V IN NOVEMBER 2013. THE CAR WAS BROUGHT IN IN DEC. 2013 PER THE RECALL TO CHANGE THE GEARBOX OIL BUT ONLY HAD A 12 MONTH WARRANTY. NOW, THE CORROSION CAUSED THE SAME PROBLEM THAT THE RECALL TRIED TO PREVENT. THE RECALL DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE COST TO FIX IS $8500! SINCE IT OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY PERIOD, VW WILL NOT PAY. THIS IS A CLEAR SAFETY ISSUE THAT VW NEEDS TO CORRECT. THE RECALL FIX OF CHANGING THE TYPE OF GEARBOX OIL DID NOT STOP THE CORROSION WHICH DAMAGED THE CONTROL MODULE.

MY 2013 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA HYBRID WAS AMONGST THOSE WITH THE GEARBOX OIL RECALL. IT WAS MANUFACTURED IN DECEMBER OF 2012, AND THE GEARBOX OIL WAS REPLACED IN DECEMBER 2013 BY THE DEALERSHIP. LIKE OTHERS WHO WERE A PART OF THIS RECALL, MY VEHICLE HAS SUFFERED FROM GRINDING NOISES AND LURCHING WHEN DRIVING IN REVERSE DOWN THE SLOPE OF MY DRIVEWAY. IT ALSO WILL LURCH AT TIMES WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT FROM 1ST TO 2ND (WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION), AND NOW THE VEHICLE IS HAVING ISSUES WHERE THE ENGINE KICKS ON WHILE IDLING FOR TWO SECONDS, SHUTS OFF FOR ONE SECOND, AND THEN KICKS BACK ON FOR TWO SECONDS. I TOOK THE CAR INTO A VW DEALERSHIP IN JUNE THAT TOLD ME MY TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT IT WOULD COST $6,300 BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER IN WARRANTY (~95,000 MILES, 2.5 YEARS OF DRIVING). AFTER READING SEVERAL OF THE COMPLAINTS THAT SHARE THIS SAME ISSUE, IT APPEARS THAT VOLKSWAGEN TRIED TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT BY REPLACING THE CORROSIVE OIL INITIALLY USED, BUT THAT THE TIME THE OIL WAS A PART OF THE GEARBOX, SUFFICIENT DAMAGE WAS DONE TO REDUCE THE LIFE OF THE TRANSMISSION. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO VW AND THEY SIMPLY STATE THAT THEY CHANGED THE OIL (12 MONTHS AFTER IT WAS IN THE GEAR BOX AND A PART OF THE TRANSMISSION) AND THAT THE WARRANTY HAS PASSED AND THAT I WILL HAVE TO PAY THE COST. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT I WILL TRY AND ACCELERATE FROM A STOPPED POSITION AND BE UNABLE TO DRIVE BECAUSE OF THE ISSUES DESCRIBED BY OTHERS. THE VW DEALERSHIP PREDICTED THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN AT SOME POINT, AND THAT I SHOULD DRIVE IT UNTIL IT DOES AND THEN GET THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SYSTEMIC ISSUE TIED TO THIS GROUP OF PREVIOUSLY RECALLED VW'S AND THAT A RECALL SHOULD BE PUT IN PLACE TO REQUIRE THEY REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION.

I FIRST TOOK THIS CAR TO THE DEALER IN LATE 2015 TO REPORT AN UNUSUAL DRIVING CHARACTERISTIC I HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED IN OVER 40 YEARS OF DRIVING. WHEN INCHING FORWARD OR BACKWARDS IN THIS CAR, THERE IS A "JERKY" UNEXPECTED, TEMPORARY SURGING OF THE VEHICLE. THE EXPERIENCED VW MECHANIC ATTRIBUTED THIS TO A "DRY CLUTCH" THAT OPERATES MUCH LIKE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. WHEN SLIGHTLY RELEASING THE BRAKE TO MOVE SLOWLY EITHER FORWARD OR BACKWARDS, THE CAR HAS BEEN PROGRAMMED TO "RELEASE" THE CLUTCH AND MOVE FORWARD -- SINCE MOST OF THE TIME WHEN THE BRAKE IS RELEASED THAT IS WHAT THE DRIVER INTENDS. HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE JUST RELEASING THE BRAKE TO INCH FORWARD OR BACKWARDS, AS WHEN PARKING, THE SUDDEN SURGE FEELS VERY UNEXPECTED AND DANGEROUS. IN AUGUST 2016, WE NOTICED A LARGE POOL FLUID UNDER THE FRONT OF THE CAR. AFTER DRIVING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE MECHATRONIC DRY CLUTCH UNIT HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER THE NEW MECHATRONICS UNIT WAS INSTALLED, UNDER WARRANTY AND WITHOUT ANY COST TO US, WE REALIZED TWO DIFFERENT CHARACTERISTICS NOT EXPERIENCED BEFORE: 1) THE DASHBOAD DISPLAYED THE GEAR THE CAR WAS IN FOR THE FIRST TIME, I.E., D1, D2 THROUGH D7. THAT FEATURE HAD SIMPLY NEVER WORKED BEFORE, UNBEKNOWST TO US AT THE TIME; 2) THE CAR DROVE WITH MORE POWER, AND IT APPEARS BETTER GAS MILEAGE AS WELL SO FAR. THE SERVICE REP MENTIONED THAT THE MECHANIC HAD TO SEE THE PHYSICAL MECHANTRONICS UNIT FIRST, BECAUSE IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO TELL BY VIN # ALONE IF IT IS THE CORRECT PART. THE CONCLUSION I HAVE DRAWN IS THAT THE WRONG MECHATRONICS UNIT WAS INSTALLED ON OUR CAR ORIGINALLY, WHICH CAUSED NOT ONLY BAD DRIVING CHARACTERISTICS, BUT ALSO DID NOT REGISTER THE GEAR THE CAR WAS IN ON THE DASHBOARD READOUT. I HAVE A REMAINING QUESTION WHAT OTHER DAMAGE THIS CAUSED TO THE CAR, AND HOW VW INTENDS WILL HANDLE THAT IN THE FUTURE.

AT FIRST IT WAS THE WATER PUMP FOR THE TURBO THEY HAD TO BE REPLACED THEN TWO WEEKS AFTER I GOT THAT REPAIRED IT WAS THE BRAKE SENSOR THEN A WEEK AFTER THAT IT WAS THE VACUUM PUMP FOR THE BRAKES, AND THE WORK DOESN'T STOP FROM THERE IT SEEMS LIKE FROM THERE I HAD TO GET A REPAIR KIT IT'S A SEAL THAT GOES BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION AND THE ENGINE INCLUDING THE DUAL CLUTCH FOR THE HYBRID AND ENGINE TRANSMISSION. AS OF TODAY MAY 13TH 2016 I WAS JUST TOLD THAT VOLKSWAGEN IS GOING AHEAD AND REPLACE THE ENTIRE COMPLETE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE THE SAME ERROR CODE CAME UP FROM THE LAST REPAIRS THAT WERE DONE THERE'S BEEN ROUGHLY AROUND $12,000 REPAIRS EITHER PAID BY THE INSURANCE EXTENDED WARRANTY OR VOLKSWAGEN. I'VE PAID OUT OF POCKET ROUGHLY AROUND $500 PLUS RENTAL INSURANCE THAT I HAD TO GET BECAUSE OF GET ANOTHER CAR TO MOVE AROUND. I HAVE FILED SEVERAL COMPLAINTS WITH VOLKSWAGEN OF AMERICA TO HAVE THE CAR REPLACED BUY THEM AND THEY CONTINUE TO DENY LEFT AND RIGHT SAYING THAT I SHOULD BE GOING THROUGH THE WARRANTY REPAIRS. IT SEEMS LIKE NO MATTER WHAT REPAIRS ARE DONE TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPAIRED AND 4000 MILES LATER THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURS THERE'S DEFINITELY A SAFETY CONCERN THERE IN THE SAFETY CONCERN IS THAT I CAN'T DRIVE FAR ENOUGH OR TAKE A SMALL LITTLE VACATION WITH THE FAMILY WITHOUT HAVING SOME TYPE OF CONCERNED IF MY VEHICLES IN IT DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD.

CAR WAS RUNNING FINE, BUT AS WE DROVE DOWN THE FARM TO MARKET ROAD THE TRANSMISSION DISENGAGED (PERMANENTLY) AND WE COASTED TO A STOP. THE CAR HAD BEEN REPAIRED UNDER THE 2013 RECALL CAMPAIGN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. DEALER WANTS $6,000 TO REPAIR EVEN THOUGH IT HAS THE SAME SYMPTOMS MENTIONED IN THE 2013 CAMPAIGN.

I WAS DRIVING ON A 2 LANE STREET WHEN THE CHECK HYBRID FLASHED ON MY DASH. THE CAR STILL CONTINUED TO DRIVE NORMAL ON ENGINE POWER BUT WOULD NO LONGER SWITCH INTO HYBRID MODE. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER THE NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CLUTCH THAT SWITCHES THE ELECTRIC MOTOR TO THE TRANSMISSION WAS BAD AND THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I FOUND THAT ODD BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION RAN FINE WHEN RUNNING ON THE GAS ENGINE ONLY. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE REPAIR WOULD NOT BE UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE MY CAR HAS 73000 MILES AND THE POWERTRAIN COVERAGE ENDS AT 60000. I STATED THAT I THOUGHT IT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE HYBRID WARRANTY WHICH IS 100000 MILES. ALSO BECAUSE IT WAS THE CHECK HYBRID WARNING LIGHT THAT CAME ON AND NOT THE CHECK ENGINE. TO NO AVAIL THE DEALER WOULD NOT BUDGE. THE CAR IS AT THE WAITING ON A NEW TRANSMISSION TO ARRIVE. I FIND THE WHOLE SITUATION IRONIC THAT THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACE AND IT IS NOT COVERED GIVEN THE RECALL THAT WAS ISSUED ABOUT THE CONTAMINATED TRANSMISSION FLUID. (RECALL WAS DONE) AND THE FACT THAT I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM VOLKSWAGEN WITH UPDATED MAINTENANCE INFORMATION ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FILTER CHANGE INTERVALS JUST 4 WEEKS BEFORE THE PROBLEM OCCURRED.

THE BRAKES CONSTANTLY SQUEAL WHEN BRAKING. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO SOUTH COAST SANTA ANA VW 3 TIMES AND BROUGHT THE CAR IN AND THEY INSIST THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES AND THAT IT'S JUST PART OF THE MATERIAL THEY MANUFACTURE THE BRAKES WITH. THEY CLAIM THAT THE SQUEALING IS NORMAL AND CAUSED BY BRAKE DUST. THE RESULT OF THE FAULTY BRAKES IS LOSS IN STOPPING POWER. THE CAR ALSO HAS BEEN LUNGING OR WHAT FEELS LIKE SLIPPING GEARS WHEN I ACCELERATE OR DECELERATE. IT 'S A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER WHEN DRIVING ON BOTH SURFACE STREETS AND STOP AND GO TRAFFIC THAT CREATES AN UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITION. THE CONDITION SEEMS TO PERSIST MORE WHEN STARTING FROM A COLD START. VOLKSWAGEN SOUTH COAST DEALER IN SANTA ANA CLAIMS TO BE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE, BUT I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE IT COUNTLESS TIMES AS WELL AS OTHER DRIVERS.

JETTA HYBRIDS -SEVEN-SPEED DUAL-CLUTCH TRANSMISSION THAT RESULTED IN A LOSS OF DRIVE. THIS IS WHAT I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP AND WHAT APPEARS ON THE RECALL. THE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN AND A COAST AFTER APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS. I WAS FORCED TO GET A TOW TO THE DEALERSHIP WHICH I HAD TO PAY FOR. I AM SERIOUSLY WONDERING WHY MY JETTA IS NOT "INCLUDED" IN THE 2013 VW JETTA HYBRID RECALL??? I HAVE BEEN TO THE ANTWERPEN VW DEALERSHIP IN GLEN BURNIE, MD ON 2 OCCASIONS AND THEY CONTEND MY CAR IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. EVEN THOUGH WHEN I CALLED, I WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS EXACTLY THE SAME AS WHAT IS LISTED IN THE RECALL INFORMATION. I WAS TOLD THAT THE PART HAS TO BE ORDERED FROM GERMANY AND IT WOULD TAKE A WEEK TO ARRIVE AND THEN THEY COULD DO THE WORK. IT HAS BEEN OVER A WEEK AND CAN' T GET ANYONE TO CONTACT ME. NOT ONLY THAT, I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO MEET WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER(HE WAS IN AN IMPORTANT MEETING) BUT HE HAS NOT RETURNED MY CALLS. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. AFTER FIRST STARTING THE VEHICLE AND DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES OR LESS, WHEN THE VEHICLE IS AT A FULL STOP, ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE HESITATES FOR A LEAST 3 TO 5 SECONDS MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE THE ENGINE ENGAGES AND THE VEHICLE STARTS TO MOVE FORWARD. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON AT LEAST 7 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS AND THE DEALER HAS INDICATED THAT THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM ALTHOUGH MULTIPLE INCIDENTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED WITH THE SAME DSG TRANSMISSION ON 2014 VW JETTA DIESEL MODELS. IT FELT LIKE A CHOPPY STUTTER. IT WAS WORSE WHEN THE CAR WAS COLD BUT ALWAYS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS APPLYING JUST A SMALL AMOUNT OF PRESSURE ON THE THROTTLE. I ALSO HAVE A SIMILAR ISSUE WHEN LAUNCHING THE CAR, WHEN PUTTING THE PEDAL DOWN HARD WHEN ENTERING FAST TRAFFIC FROM A DEAD STOP. I'D HIT THE GAS AND THE WHOLE CAR WOULD HEDGE AS POWER WOULD DISAPPEAR FOR A TERRIFYING FEW SECONDS. IT WAS SOMETHING QUITE DIFFERENT THAN TURBO LAG. I HAVE A COMPLAINT INTO VW AND THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE WORKING WITH THE DEALER TO RESOLVE. AS OF 4/9/14, I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO OBTAIN AN APPOINTMENT. *TR
