Car was being driven and coils snapped caused, tire to pop damaging front end. Car was being driven and randomly shut off in middle of road. Driving vehicle shifting into gear lags, check engine light is on, had reader and said that valve 2 has low pressure. As a result clanking and loose noise sounds are heard when driven from drivers side.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The engine stalls intermittently while driving as listed in a recall for 2011 VW Jettas. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I was at risk of an accident when the car stalls while driving on the road and on the highway. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the Ontario Volkswagen dealership has been able to see the car intermittently stalling while being serviced. I took the car to the Volkswagen dealership and asked them to contact corporate for a solution to the problem. They replaced 2 sensors and the problem still persists. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lights or messages appear prior to engine stalling.

Unknown , The vehicle is a slap shift and I can't put it in sport mode as well when driving I've been in just regular automatic it will shift slow but hard when it's in slap shift it it shifts Hard and when it is in sport mode it will shift fast and hard it's like a jerk it has a very rough idol and sometimes the windshield wiper's will work sometimes they won't and my cruise control does not work and I put my code reader on it and it says $7E8 and $7E9 along with not being able to complete smog test, and it acted like it wanted to die when I was in drive through it has well over half tank gas. Also it seems to be sucking more gas and my miles are going really fait's going really fast like they're not matching what I'm actually driving.

Car randomly stalls while driving and shuts off without warning in the middle of the road. Immediately is able to turn back on without issues. Took to mechanic and they couldn't find any issues and said the car had zero error codes. This has happened multiple times while driving low speeds, usually when driving stop and go with street lights

My car would randomly stall while driving, happens both when braking and not braking. When it stalls steering wheel locks up, cannot press gas pedal, and brakes stop working almost. This is incredibly dangerous because while on a road at 50mph+ and my car suddenly stops it can cause a serious accident. The dealer has been able to reproduce it multiple times, and has said it is a common problem. The only warning light that switched on was the battery light after it had stalled. Currently at the VW dealership and was told that it was the fuel filter, was not the problem and car continued to stall more. Not only was a good part replaced but created an even more dangerous situation than before.

This Jetta Sportwagen TDI is one of the "diesel gate" vehicles that was supposedly fixed. However, post fix, the vehicle has been at the dealership for repairs more than it has been on the road for various emissions related issues revolving around the exhaust gas recirculation system and diesel particulate filter. Vehicle is washed regularly, including scrubbing of the chaise pipe ends with heavy duty soot cleaning solution. vehicle takes less than a week to collect enough soot on the tailpipe to cause transference to finger when whipped. This is an indication that an excessive amount of soot is not being properly recirculated by the exhaust gas recirculating system to be rebut in the diesel particulate filter. This also indicates that the "fix" for the cheating emissions system is not doing its job and vehicle is likely emitting particulate and NOX at levels far above legal limits.

THE CONTACT THEN CALLED EASTSIDE VOLKSWAGEN (28400 CHARDON RD, WILLOUGHBY HILLS, OH 44092) WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT HE HAD TO PAY FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PREVIOUS PARTS THAT WERE REPLACED, NEEDED TO BE REPLACED A SECOND TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. AFTER THIS ENGINE STOPPED. CAR WOULD NOT START ANYMORE.I CALLED VW CARE TO START A CLAIM BECAUSE THIS CAR BELONGS TO THE DIESEL GATE SCANDAL. TO MY BAD LUCK, I FOUND OUT A FEW WEEKS AFTER I BOUGHT THIS CAR, 12/17/2019, THAT THEY HAD MANY REPAIRS MADE AND ALSO THAT THE FUEL PUMP WILL GO BAD AND THE REPAIR COST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. DRIVING MY CAR I WOULD COME TO A STOP AND MY CAR WOULD SHUT OFF. MY BATTERY LIGHT WOULD THEN APPEAR. HAD BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR CHECKED 4X WAS TOLD THAT THEY ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION. BATTERY COMES ON BUT RADIO STILL ON. I WAS TOLD THAT IT HAD TO BE A WIRING PROBLEM. SO I TOOK IT TO MY VOLKSWAGEN DEALERSHIP AND THEY KEEP TELLING ME THEY CAN'T DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM. I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE AND SAFE DRIVING THE CAR ON CITY STREETS AND SOMETIMES ON THE INTERSTATE. WHEN THE LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT COMES ON, IT'S ALWAYS WHEN I LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR TO COME TO A STOP. ONCE I START MOVING AGAIN, THE LIGHT GOES OFF. THE CORRECT OIL/FILTER HAVE BEEN INSTALLED, VW DEALERSHIP SAID IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME AND THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR WAS BAD. I CHANGED THE SENSOR AND IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING. WHILE RESEARCHING IT ON GOOGLE, IT APPEARS A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE, BUT NO ONE HAS A SOLUTION.VW DEALERSHIP HAS LIED TO ME BEFORE SO I DON'T TRUST THEM WORKING ON MY CAR.

TOOK IT BACK AND DEALER ONCE AGAIN SAID THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM BY ADJUSTING SENSORS, BUT STILL THE SAME THING IS HAPPENING.

WHEN CAR CAME TO COMPLETE STOP DUE TO TRAFFIC, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR STOPPED AND WOULD NOT RESTART. THERE WAS NO TIME FOR ME TO MOVE TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY DUE TO TRAFFIC CONGESTION SO I WAS STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY. IGNITION SWITCH KEY LOCK SOLENOID (N376) PROBLEM. HELLO, MY WIFE'S 2011 JETTA HAS A MALFUNCTIONING IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER. PERHAPS THE IGNITION SWITCH KEY LOCK SOLENOID (N376)? NORMALLY THE KEY SHOULD BE LOCKED IN THE IGNITION WHILE THE CAR IS IN D(DRIVE). HOWEVER, THERE APPEARS TO BE A MALFUNCTION IN THE N376 (OR OTHER) WHICH DOES NOT ENGAGE THE LOCKING SOLENOID. SEEING AS I WAS ONLY ABOUT 5 MILES FROM THE VW DEALER, I DECIDED TO SEE IF MY CAR WILL MAKE IT THERE. IT STARTED BACK UP NO PROBLEM AND I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE BACK INTO TRAFFIC AND MAKE IT TO THE DEALER WITH NO FURTHER ISSUES. I EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM TO THE SERVICE REP. AND THEY CHECKED IN MY CAR AND I WAITED FOR THEM TO CALL ME WITH THE ISSUE. LATER IN THE DAY, I RECEIVED THE CALL FROM THE SERVICE REP., AND HE INFORMED ME THAT THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP FAILED, AND THEY WILL HAVE TO REBUILD THE FUEL SYSTEM, AS THERE WERE METAL PARTICLES FOUND IN THE GAS AND GAS LINES. HE SAID THIS SOMETIMES HAPPENS WHEN A CUSTOMER MAY USE BIODIESEL FUEL OR A LOWER GRADE OF DIESEL. HE ALSO SAID THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO SEND THE GAS SAMPLES OFF TO VW LAB TO REVIEW IN ORDER FOR THE REPAIRS TO BE APPROVED SINCE I HAVE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I AM SHOCKED THAT THIS OCCURED, SEEING AS MY CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND LESS THAN 50K MILES ON IT. THANKFULLY, THERE WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT AND NO ONE WAS HURT.

AFTER TURNING OFF THE CAR AND THEN BACK ON, THE LIGHTS WENT OFF AND THE CAR WAS FINE. I TOOK IT TOO THE MECHANIC AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG AFTER $85.00 DIAGNOSTIC. THE CAR RAN FINE FOR 2 DAYS UNTIL THE SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AGAIN. THIS OCCURRED ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY ABOUT EVERY 1-2 DAYS FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS. THREE TRIPS TO THE MECHANIC WITHIN THOSE 2 WEEKS AND WITH EACH VISIT THERE WAS A COMPUTER CONNECTED TO THE CAR AND A FULL SYSTEMS DIAGNOSTIC REPORTED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. IT BECAME DANGEROUS FOR ME TO DRIVE THE CAR AND EVEN MORE SO TO DRIVE IT ON THE HIGHWAY. THE ENGINE RAN COMPLETELY FINE WITHOUT ANY ISSUES UNTIL LAST WEEK, 3/19/2015. AT 3 MONTHS AND ONLY 28,000 MILES ON THE CAR THE SAME PROBLEM STARTED TO REOCCUR WHILE GETTING ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM 40-45MPH. TRAVELING ALONG AT HIGHWAY SPEED. CAR SPUTTERED AND DIED. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND BE TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. APPARENTLY THERE IS A WELL-KNOWN DESIGN FLAW IN THE INTERCOOLER INTAKE PIPE ON ALL VOLKSWAGEN TDI (DIESEL) ENGINES SINCE 2009 THAT CAUSES MOISTURE TO DEVELOP IN THE INTERCOOLER INTAKE PIPE DURING COLD WEATHER. IF ENOUGH MOISTURE COLLECTS IN THIS PIPE, IT WILL GET CHANNELED TO THE ENGINE AND BE FED INTO THE CYLINDERS, CAUSING THE CAR TO SPUTTER AND STALL EXACTLY AS MINE DID - OR TO SIMPLY NOT START ON COLD DAYS. I LOOKED OUTSIDE AND SAW FLAMES COMING OUT OF THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE OF OUR BEAUTIFUL 2011 JETTA SPORTWAGEN. I DIALED 911, THE CAR CONTINUED TO BURN UNTIL THE FIRE DEPT ARRIVED AND PUT IT OUT. WHEN HORN AND KEYS DIED (ALSO WITH FAULTY START BUTTON) DEALER TRIED TO FORCE ME TO DRIVE UNSAFE VEHICLE UNTIL THEY GOT AROUND TO FIXING THE PROBLEM. MOST OTHER TIMES THE ISSUE WAS IGNORED OR I WAS TREATED AS THOUGH I WAS MAKING UP THE PROBLEM. (THESE PROBLEMS INCLUDE RADIO STAYING ON WHEN CAR IS COMPLETELY OFF, AND AFTER MANUALLY SWITCHING IT OFF, IT THEN WILL TURN BACK ON WHILE THE CAR IS STILL OFF (EVEN THOUGH THE CAR WILL NOT START AND I HAVE TO USE THE LONG HOLD LOCK FUNCTION TO ROLL WINDOWS UP). SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE NEW WE EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE STUTTERING WHEN DRIVING AND AT TIMES SHUTTING OFF COMPLETELY AS IF IT STALLED (THE VEHICLE IS AN AUTOMATIC WITH THE DSG TRANSMISSION). THE PROBLEM PERSISTED AND WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AGAIN AND THEY SAID THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE FOUND AND ONCE AGAIN SENT US AWAY AND TOLD US TO COME BACK IF THE PROBLEM KEPT OCCURRING. THE VEHICLE IS NOW STUTTERING AND STALLING MUCH MORE OFTEN AND THE WARRANTY HAS RUN OUT. I CALLED THE VW HQ THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE THE VEHICLE IN AND HAVE THE TECH LOOK AT IT WHICH HAS COST ME $112 IN WHICH THEY ONCE AGAIN FOUND NOTHING AND RECOMMENDED I LET THE CAR WARM UP PRIOR TO DRIVING. IT IS CURRENTLY SUMMER AND THE LOW TEMPERATURES ARE AROUND 70 AND THE HIGHS ARE 85+. IN ADDITION THIS IS A MODERN VEHICLE AND HAD I KNOW I WAS GOING TO NEED TO LET IT WARM UP I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED IT. THIS ISN?T THE 50?S. WAS DRIVING AND HEARD A CLICKING SOUND, SHORTLY AFTER MY STEERING AND BRAKES LOCKED UP, AND THEN THE ENTIRE CAR STALLED. I WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE. APPROXIMATELY A YEAR AGO, MY ENGINE BEGAN TO GIVE A CLEAR SENSE OF THE CAR SHUDDERING OR ROCKING BACK AND FORTH. WHILE SOMETIMES THE FEELING WOULD OCCUR EVEN WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT, THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE TIME THIS OCCURRED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT CONSISTENT LOW SPEEDS. IN ALMOST ALL CASES, I WAS ATTEMPTING TO MAINTAIN A CONSISTENT SPEED AROUND EITHER 13PMH OR 30 MPH. EVENTUALLY, I FOUND THE ROCKING MOTION VERY EASY TO REPRODUCE. I'D SET THE CAR TO 30 MPH VIA CRUISE CONTROL AND DRIVE DOWN A STRAIGHT ROAD WITH VERY SLIGHT UPWARD AND DOWNWARD SLOPES. WHILE IT HAPPENS EVEN ON FLAT GROUND, I FOUND THAT A SLIGHT DECLINE IS MOST LIKELY TO REPRODUCE THE FEELING. MY BEST GUESS IS THAT THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT THE WAY THE FUEL SUPPLY SYSTEM/TRANSMISSION IS TRYING TO DETERMINE WHETHER OR NOT DIESEL NEEDS TO BE SUPPLIED TO THE ENGINE. THE FUEL SUPPLY SYSTEM SEEMS TO ALMOST CUT OUT BECAUSE GIVING DIESEL WOULD PRODUCE A SPEED TOO HIGH, AND THEN IT COMES BACK ON SUDDENLY, BECAUSE GIVING IT NO DIESEL WOULD CAUSE THE CAR TO SLOW TOO MUCH. WHILE SOMETIMES THIS IS SIMPLY A NUISANCE, I HAVE HAD ON MANY OCCASIONS FELT THAT IT WAS A GENUINE SAFETY HAZARD SINCE I COULDN'T PREDICT HOW THE ENGINE WOULD REACT. THIS IN COMBINATION WITH OVERLY STRONG ENGINE BREAK WHEN LETTING OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR AND DELAYED ACCELERATION WHEN STEPPING ON THE PEDDLE THAT CAN CAUSE INCONSISTENCIES AND SAFETY HAZARDS WHEN MANEUVERING IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY. I'VE MENTIONED THIS PROBLEM EVERY SINGLE TIME I'VE TAKEN MY CAR IN FOR IT'S REGULARLY SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE. THE VEHICLE HAS A DIESEL DSG ENGINE, AND AS I'VE BEEN TOLD BY SERVICE TECHNICIANS AND REPRESENTATIVES, SOME OF THE THINGS LIKE STRONG ENGINE BREAKING ARE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS TYPE OF ENGINE. HOWEVER, THE CAR'S ROCKING MOTION CERTAINLY GOES BEYOND ANYTHING THAT COULD REALISTICALLY BE CONSIDERED NORMAL AND SAFE. *TR

NEVER RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE FOR LEAKY FUEL LINES BY MY LOCAL DEALER. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. THE CONTACT STATED THE EXHAUST TIP WAS EXTENDED BEYOND THE ORIGINAL LENGTH OF THE FACTORY-INSTALLED EXHAUST PIPES. AS A RESULT, THE EXHAUST PIPES BURNED A CHILD'S LEGS ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON ONE OCCASION BUT THE DEALER DID NOT REPAIR THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE EXHAUST PIPE BY CAPPING THE TIPS OF THE PIPES PER THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.

TRAVELING IN THE LEFT LANE ON 95 N OUTSIDE BALTIMORE MD AT 65 MPH MY VEHICLE'S GAS PEDAL STOPPED RESPONDING AND THE CAR BEGAN TO LOSE POWER AND LURCH FORWARD AND EVENTUALLY DIE AS THE YELLOW DIESEL ENGINE INDICATOR ALONG WITH THE YELLOW ENGINE INDICATOR BEGAN BLINKING. IT WAS AFTER 9:00 P.M SO THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT IN THE LOT AND ALL THE PAPERWORK WAS DROPPED IN THE BOX.
