Because of recall, car was not engaged in park completely like it stated after I got out it rolled away down the hill and hit a tree, therefore the recall caused my accident. Yes the problem has been confirmed it is a recall. No it has not been inspected by dealer or police. Volkswagen will not engage in any further investigations they say it's my fault. There were no warning lamps.
Component/System Failure/Malfunction: ignition switch and starter, possibly transmission Yes, available for inspection upon request. Car has randomly stalled while in motion; ignition and starter switch have been replaced as well as microswitch panel - yet problem persists. Power steering shuts down, steering wheel becomes very difficult to turn. Have to put car in neutral, typically, and try to restart while in motion. Has happened over 100 times; replaced alternator as well. Battery was replaced, brand new, yet was drained multiple times - recharged at Autozone. Vehicle was brought to Larry H. Miller Volkswagen - was advised the problem was fixed, as well as recall repairs (microswitch), paid for the service, went to leave dealership and problem immediately happened again. Complete shut off. Would stay running a little longer while in neutral or AC on. When the vehicle stalls the only light that comes on is the battery light. All other lights and systems work. Ran diagnostic codes through personal mechanic, friend, and dealership... Code states "Key/Ignition/Computer" but unsure what specifically. The 2011 Volkswagen Jetta also does not have the original key fob. May be improper programming? Continued to research all other recalls, services have been completed and yet the problem persists.
Door unexpectedly does not close and latch correctly. Had to hold the car door the whole time driving. The driver door and passenger door has done it so far. This needs to look into.
Car keeps turning off while driving and battery light comes on the dash board. Restarts and light no longer comes on until it turns off again. Drives for awhile again and same thing happens. Have changed numerous parts but without anything showing, can't diagnose it. Unpredictable to when it will turn off.
Volkswagen Jettas between 2011-2014 received a recall for the clockspring issue that occurs. I just learned that I am experiencing the same issue and my car is the same year and make. Both the airbag light is on and the horn does not work properly which is a major safety risk. VW said they will not cover the repair however this is a serious safety issue which has clearly been a problem.
It started singing real load and my light for my coolant started blinking red
The ABS module in this vehicle has failed as the ABS, Traction Control, Airbag, and Brake lights are all on with the brake light flashing. The dealership stated a new module would be needed to have functioning anti lock brakes. In reference to case - NHTSA: 16V913, I believe the same components are the same as the power train did not change between the two vehicles. I am having the same symptoms as stated in this document but there is no recall as of yet.
The vehicle ignition systems skips and locks the steering wheel. The makes the vehicle stops and disabled.

This Jetta Sportwagen TDI is one of the "diesel gate" vehicles that was supposedly fixed. However, post fix, the vehicle has been at the dealership for repairs more than it has been on the road for various emissions related issues revolving around the exhaust gas recirculation system and diesel particulate filter. Vehicle is washed regularly, including scrubbing of the chaise pipe ends with heavy duty soot cleaning solution. vehicle takes less than a week to collect enough soot on the tailpipe to cause transference to finger when whipped. This is an indication that an excessive amount of soot is not being properly recirculated by the exhaust gas recirculating system to be rebut in the diesel particulate filter. This also indicates that the "fix" for the cheating emissions system is not doing its job and vehicle is likely emitting particulate and NOX at levels far above legal limits.
HELLO. THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH MY 2011 VW JETTA'S AC SYSTEM. THERE IS AN AWFUL ODOR. IT SMELLS MOLDY AND MUSTY(MUSKY). I WENT TO A DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME TO CHANGE MY AIR FILTER AND A FEW OTHER THINGS. IT WORKED FOR ABOUT 4 DAYS AND THE SMELL CAME RIGHT BACK. I HAVE TALKED TO OTHER JETTA AND A PASSAT OWNER ONE 2012 AND ONE 2013, THEY ALSO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. AT FIRST MY CAR HAD A BURNING SMELL COMING FROM THE SYSTEM WHEN I STARTED MY CAR AND TURNED THE AIR ON. A FEW MINUTES LATER AN ODOR FILLED MY VENTS. THIS HAPPENED AFTER I PURCHASED MY CAR IN 2013. ABOUT 6 MONTHS LATER. I HAVE CONSTANTLY CHANGED THE FILTERS AND WILL BE GETTING A NEW AIR COMPRESSOR SOON, BUT. I WAS TOLD THAT IT MAY NOT HELP THE SMELL FROM THE SYSTEM. I WANTED TO FOLLOW UP ON MY PREVIOUS CLAIM. AS STATED IN MY PREVIOUS NOTE, I NOTICED THE ODOR A FEW MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING MY CAR. A FEW YEARS AFTER I GOT MY CAR, I DEVELOPED A MOLD ALLERGY AND IT WAS GETTING HARDER FOR ME TO BREATHE. THE ONLY TIME THE ISSUE OCCURRED WAS WHEN I WOULD DRIVE MY CAR. SO, I HAD TO GO TO THE ALLERGY DOCTOR. THEY DID A FEW TESTS AND FOUND OUT I HAD A MOLD ALLERGY. A FEW WEEKS LATER, I KEPT SMELLING A SMELL FROM MY AC. I ASKED A FRIEND TO COME AND CHECK ON MY AIR FILTER IN MY CAR. HE PULLED IT OUT AND IT WAS FULL OF MOLD. HE TOLD ME THAT THE CAR WAS RETAINING MOISTURE IN MY A/C UNIT AND THAT IT IS PROBABLY WHAT IS HURTING MY ALLERGIES. WITH THAT BEING SAID, I HAVE TO CHANGE MY FILTER AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH. ONE, TO MAKE SURE THAT IT DOESN'T MOLD. TWO, SO THAT I CAN BREATHE. WITH THAT BEING SAID, MY ALLERGIES BECAME WORSE AFTER I DISCOVERED THE MOLD. I HAD TO GO BACK ON MY ALLERGY SHOTS FOR AWHILE. BECAUSE MY ALLERGIES GOT SO BAD, EVEN WITH MY SHOTS AND OTHER MEDICATION, IT MESSED WITH MY BREATHING. SO, I HAD TO HAVE AN IN OFFICE PROCEDURE TO RELEASE SOME OF THE PRESSURE TO HELP ME BREATHE BETTER. ALL OF THIS TO SAY, VW KNOWS THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THEY AC SYSTEM HOLDING MOISTURE AND IT MAKING THE CAR HAVE A MOLDY SMELL TO IT. THIS IS DANGEROUS FOR PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES AND WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SUFFER, DUE TO A MANUFACTURERS CARELESSNESS. I FEEL AS IF THEY SHOULD REACH OUT TO ANYONE WITH AFFECTED VEHICLE OWNERS AND FIGURE OUT A SOLUTION TO THIS MATTER. I LOVE MY VOLKSWAGEN AND I WANTED TO LOOK INTO PURCHASING ANOTHER ONE, HOPEFULLY AN SUV TYPE, IN A FEW YEARS. BUT, IF THEY CANNOT FIX THIS ISSUE, I MAY NEVER LOOK INTO THEM AGAIN. I SPEND 1 HRS YESTERDAY 04/13/19 TRYING TO POWER THE ENGINE OFF BECAUSE OF THE IGNITION KEY AND MY WIFE DRIVE THE CAR TOO BUT SHE IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND SHE CALLED ME TO HELP HER. I HAVE THIS PROBLEM SINCE JANUARY 2019 AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT I HAVE TO DO. MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS FAULTY CAUSING ONE DOOR TO STAY UNLOCKED UNLESS LOCKED WITH KEY. MY ALARM SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK. MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW DOES NOT PROPERLY WORK AND WILL STOP IN THE DOWN POSITION. THE SAME DOOR IS HAVING LOCKING ISSUE. THERE IS KNOWN RECALL FOR OTHER 2011 MODELS ON ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. I CALLED VW AND THEY SAID MY VIN WAS NOT AFFECTED BY THE RECALL. I'M HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AS OTHER JETTA OWNERS WITH SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL AND WITH ACTIVE RECALL BUT VW REFUSES TO FIX MY CAR. I COULD GET INTO ACCIDENT DUE TO FAULTY HORN, FAULTY DOOR LOCKS, FAULTY VISIBILITY AND WIPERS THAT DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS CLEARLY FAULTY IF ALL OF THESE ISSUES ARE FAILING AT ONCE. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO FIRESTONE AND THEY SAID FAULTY COMPUTER ISSUES NEED TO BE FIXED BY VW. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD.

AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS MY PHONE THEN I LOOKED UP AND SEEN THAT MY TOUCH SCREEN WAS BLACK.... THEN I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS TURNED OFF SO I TIRED PUSHING THE POWER BUTTON... NOTHING. SO ON THE WAY HOME MY BOYFRIEND LOOKED UP THE FUSES GOT THE CHART, AND WE PULLED IT OUT AND IT WAS PERFECT NO NOTHING. THEN I IMMEDIATELY GOT ON THE INTERNET AND STARTED READING. NO ONLY DID I FIND THAT SIMILAR MODELS AND PREVIOUS YEARS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT IN A FEW MONTHS IT LEADS TO DEAD BATTERIES, AND THE POSSIBLY THAT'S YOUR CAR IS NOT RELIABLE AND IT SHOULD BE WITH AN EASY FIX. I ALSO FOUND THAT THE TYPE OF RADIO IS VERY HARD TO FIND, I COULDN'T FIND IT IN VW PARTS AND REPLACEMENTS, BUT INSTEAD FINDING EARLIER, AND MORE UPDATE VERSIONS!

THEN AGAIN ON THE FREEWAY IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET OVER AND PULL OFF BEFORE IT STALLED THE CAR PUTTING AND I WAS GIVING GAS BUT CAR DID NOT WANT TO GO IT WAS NOT GAINING SPEED IT WAS ON THE VERGE OF STALLING. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE ITS MY ONLY VEHICLE I'M AFRAID OF IT CUTTING OFF AND STALLING WHILE DRIVING AND A ACCIDENT OCCURRING. THE CAR STALLING IS WHILE DRIVING AND WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE OR IN PARK. ADAPTED INJECTORS,BLEED FUEL BY STEM AND TESTED. I'VE RETAINED RECORDS, COMMUNICATION, AND SAMPLE OF GAS IN TANK AT TIME OF COLLAPSE. ONE PROBLEM AFTER ANOTHER WITH VEHICLE.

ON FEBRUARY 1, 2014 I TURNED ON MY CAR AND HEADED TO CHURCH AT ABOUT 1 IN THE AFTERNOON, EVERYTHING APPEARED FINE. OUT OF NOWHERE MY CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, THANK GOODNESS I HAD MANAGED TO STEER TO THE SIDE AND THAT THE CARS ON THE ROAD MANAGED TO GO AROUND ME BECAUSE IT COULD HAVE TURNED OUT INTO A TRAGEDY. I HAD NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES WITH MY ENGINE/BATTERY NOR DID ANY OF THE DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHTS LIGHT UP PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. I TRIED TURNING MY CAR BACK ON SEVERAL TIMES BUT IT WAS UNRESPONSIVE. THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR SOUNDED FINE BUT FOR SOME REASON THE CAR JUST WOULDN'T START BACK UP. COULD IT HAVE BEEN THE FUEL PUMP? MY CAR RUNS ON DIESEL AND I HAVE ALWAYS FUELED IT WITH THE APPROPRIATE FUEL WITHOUT ANY ISSUES SO WHAT NOW? I HAD TO PUSH MY CAR OUT OF THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND CALL A TOW SERVICE TO TOW MY CAR HOME. OVER THE NEXT WEEK I DROVE A RENTAL TO WORK AND CALLED THE VOLKSWAGEN DEALERSHIP AND LEFT MULTIPLE MESSAGES FOR PARTS AND SERVICE AND FOR THE PERSON IN CHARGE OF EXTENDED WARRANTY. IT'S BEEN A WEEK AND THEY HAVE NOT ANSWERED. MY CAR HAS BEEN OUT OF A WARRANTY NOW FOR A WHILE, HOWEVER I HAVE MAINTAINED IT AND GIVEN IT THE PROPER CARE SO IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE THAT A 2011 VEHICLE WOULD SIMPLY STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT A WARNING. I AM SURE THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT AND I WOULD LIKE FOR IT TO BE RESOLVED PROMPTLY, I AM SURE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS HAD THIS ISSUE IN THE PAST AS I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS AND THERE HAS EVEN BEEN A FEW RECALLS FOR PREVIOUS DIESEL MODELS REGARDING ISSUES SIMILAR TO MINE. *JS

OWNER BELIEVES THAT THIS EARLY FAILURE OF SO MANY COMPONENTS ON A NEWER, VERY LOW MILEAGE VEHICLE LIKELY REPRESENTS MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND COULD HAVE RESULTED IN SERIOUS INJURY. *JS

THE NEXT DAY WE TOOK HIM TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM TO HAVE A DOCTOR LOOK AT IT AND SHE SAID THAT HE HAD 3RD DEGREE BURNS AND THAT IT WAS INFECTED.
