Brake System Failures (Multiple Occurrences): The vehicle has experienced repeated brake-related failures requiring multiple repairs. Brakes are a critical safety system, and repeated failures pose a serious risk to occupant and public safety. Despite repairs, the brake issues have reoccurred. 2.Fuel System Failures (Two Occurrences): The fuel system has failed on multiple occasions, requiring repeated service visits. Fuel system defects affect drivability, reliability, and safety, including the risk of stalling or fuel-related hazards. 3.Head Gasket Failure and Repeated Repairs: The vehicle required a head gasket repair along with a timing belt replacement, followed by additional head gasket-related repairs days later. A head gasket failure on a nearly new vehicle is a catastrophic engine defect and significantly diminishes the vehicle’s reliability, longevity, and resale value.

I have had issue with the propulsion system. Sometime the vehicle "jumps" when just touching the gas petal, other times it takes a long time to get up to speed. I typically see slower power generation when going around corners, power seems to drop. Additionally every once in awhile I'll be driving and the emergency alert system comes on unexpectedly and unnecessarily, which in itself causes panic. The lane departure on this vehicle ping pongs you back and forth, it doesn't perform well at all and needs to be addressed. Aloy of software updates are needed. The fuel gauge (miles til empty) and the speedometer appear to read incorrectly. VW knows about this problem as I informed them on my 30,000 mile check up, but they don't have a fix for it yet. All these things can be safety hazards and again needs to be addressed.

I have brough my vehicle into the dealership on 3 separate occasions, all of which were the same safety issue - the engine would stall while accelerating and would shut off. However the 3rd incident was the most dangerous. On [XXX], I was driving southbound on [XXX] with my [XXX] daughter, en route to her pediatric appointment. After merging onto the freeway via the on-ramp, I accelerated to approximately 65 MPH and was traveling in the middle lane when the vehicle suddenly stalled. The engine shut off without warning, and the car began to coast in neutral, rapidly decelerating. Simultaneously, multiple dashboard alerts appeared, including the Check Engine light and the high wind warning indicator. As the car lost power, I had to carefully navigate around other vehicles to safely maneuver toward the shoulder of the freeway. Once stopped on the side of the road, I placed the vehicle in park, turned it off, and attempted to restart it. The engine did turn back on, but the Check Engine light remained illuminated. Out of concern for safety, I returned the vehicle to the dealership for service less than 24 hours after picking it up, following the most recent repair and extended test drive performed by Volkswagen stating the vehicle was in working order. My safety and my daughter's were at risk because I was driving on the freeway at speed of 65MPH and the engine stalled making power steering and acceleration challenging as I was trying to get to the shoulder of the freeway. I was almost hit by cars behind me. This is the 3rd time this has been taken to the dealership for inspection and each time they cannot find an issue. The only times it has happened on the road and this is the first time it has happened on the freeway. Additionally, this car is new and has never been in my possession more than 24 hours before going back to the dealership for repairs due to the engine stalling. I have not driven the car for 2 consecutive days without this happening. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION A

Car transmission is lagging. It’s unsafe merging on highway. Lags for way too long when changing lanes and accelerating.

While driving I received an 'Auto Start/Stop' error message and my engine light was flashing. Lost drivetrain power. Pulled over and turned vehicle off. After letting it sit for 10 minutes I restarted the vehicle and the Auto Start/Stop error message displayed but no check engine light this time. Drove vehicle home and could not replicate issue.

Malfunction: Acceleration failure from a full stop. on [XXX], with approx 300 miles on the vehicle, I needed to pull onto the two lanes going my direction on right. On my left was a wide curve blinded by large full trees on [XXX] in Delaware with traffic running 55-65ish. It was a doable look-twice then hustle situation. Waited for traffic to clear, nothing in sight, pulled out fuller throttle but it crawled...immediately I went full throttle with no effect as it continued to steadily crawl for several long seconds until turbo activated. This was way outside of normal-clearly I had been placed in a dangerous situation but thankfully no traffic approached before full speed was obtained. There have been no warning lamps or messages. As for possible symptoms prior to the incident, I had complained to the dealer, day after purchase about the amount of lagging and lunging I was beginning to take notice of, as well as when accelerating from lower gears, it wanted to pull back - like a tap on the brakes. Two workers test drove, expressed experiencing this and determined issue was attributed to being in 'ECO mode' and recommended/showed how to change to regular 'driving mode', which helped but not significantly. Just as easily the children could have been riding with me in the car seats as they often do. This incident was disturbing and I take it seriously. On [XXX], this repeated itself to a lesser yet unacceptable degree taking a right from a standstill on [XXX] in Danville PA. These I reported to the dealership on 7/19 and reported 2nd incident on 7/29 at first scheduled service visit. The incidents have not reproduced themselves so not confirmed by the dealer...no fault codes were identified in ECM, no further diagnostics were performed. My printer doesn't scan-please send me the address so I can mail you a copy of the first service visit 7/30 to be attached to this report.
